Filter by:The American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society hallux metatarsophalangeal-interphalangeal joint scale (AOFAS Hallux MTP-IP) is originally developed in English to evaluate the pain, function and alignment in patients with hallux deformities. The purpose of this study is to translate and cross-culturally adapt the AOFAS Hallux MTP-IP scale into Turkish and investigate its psychometric properties.
Early diagnosis and rapid treatment initiation are of most importance to prevent joint damage in patients with arthritis. Musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) is becoming an integrated part of rheumatology routine care and is more sensitive than clinical examination for detecting synovitis even in the early stage of disease. However, MSUS is highly operator dependent and competences are needed to ensure correct image interpretation. Traditionally competences are evaluated on how many examinations the trainees have performed, but the gold standard has now shifted towards competency-based education where objective assessment tools are the key element. A previous study has developed a scale for assessment of ultrasound competence, The Objective Structured Assessment of Ultrasound skills (OSAUS). Although expert consensus supports evidence of content validity of the assessment instrument, it is not known if the OSAUS scale can discriminate differences in performance scores between different levels of MSUS experience in rheumatology in a reliable way.
This research was conducted as a randomized controlled experiment to determine the effect of the education given by the Physiological Mode of Roy Adaptation Model in patients with hip or knee arthroplasty on physical adaptation and mobility.
The aim of our study is to determine the effectiveness of US-guided hydrodissection of the median nerve in different contents and volumes in patients diagnosed with mild to moderate carpal tunnel syndrome.
The objective of the research is to translate and to culturally familiarize the Lower extremity functional scale into the Urdu language along the investigation if the Lower Extremity Functional Scale is reliable and validate in the Pakistani population with Lower extremity musculoskeletal disorders and to check the correlation with Short Form - 36.
Action Observation Therapy (AOT) and Motor Imagery (MI) are two rehabilitation approaches based on Mirror Neuron System (MNS). The MNS refers to a series of neurons able to activate both when one observes an action being performed or when one physically performs the action themselves. Previous studies reported that functional recovery is facilitated by asking patient observing videos with motor content (AOT) and after imagining (MI) the gestures observed. These rehabilitative apporach have been used in particular to promote functional recovery in patients with neuromotor problems, in particular in patients with stroke. To date, few studies have investigated the effectiveness of this therapeutic approach in functional recovery after orthopedic surgery and none of these applied AOT and MI in a single pre-operative session. The objective of the study is to verify whether a single administration consisting of two pre-operative sessions of AOT associated with MI can lead to an improvement of functional recovery in hip arthroplasty patients.
The human and computer interface is becoming increasingly intuitive, but for the inexperienced user still poses formidable problems. Musculoskeletal symptoms of VDU users are believed to have a multifactorial aetiology. Software developers don't have knowledge of ergonomic principles. Faulty postures had an effect on posture.
Rehabilitation for work-related musculoskeletal disorders involves physical, behavioral, psychological treatment and counseling on how to deal with pain and disability. The study aims to evaluate the profile and indicators on the perception of health, pain intensity, and work ability (WA) of disability with work-related chronic musculoskeletal disease, assisted in a multidisciplinary program of worker health care.
The study objective is to establish feasibility of implementing a psychologically informed rehabilitation strategy while concurrently assessing its' effectiveness in Active duty service members (ADSM) with musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) seeking care in a US Navy shore-based healthcare setting. This intervention is intended to improve the management of chronic pain in order to optimize ADSM function. The study team is proposing an observational prospective comparative cohort study. This study tests an implementation/strategy while observing/gathering information on the clinical intervention and related outcomes.
A reliability and validity study for the cross culturally adapted and translated version of Upper limb musculoskeletal index questionnaire into Urdu language. This can be used for the reporting of upper limb musculoskeletal disorders including hand, shoulder and arm pathologies, carpel tunnel syndrome, osteoarthritis etc.
