Prospective Study of Lymphoproliferative Diseases

This study will help researchers learn more about non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and Hodgkin's lymphoma and how it is treated in Kenya. Researchers want to see if having certain viruses like Epstein Barr Virus (EBV), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and Kaposi's Sarcoma Herpes Virus (KSHV) affects lymphoma. Patients in Kenya who agree to be in this study will let the resesarchers look at their medical record, follow their normal cancer care, and have blood drawn to look at different proteins and viruses. Researchers would also like to look at part of the original tumor that was taken out of each patient. Some of these samples will be stored at Kenyatta National Hospital and research will be done on them later. This study does not involve any change in treatment, but only allows the study team to follow how a patient in Kenya with lymphoma is treated.

Brentuximab Vedotin With or Without Nivolumab in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory CD30+ Lymphoma

This phase II pilot trial studies how well brentuximab vedotin with or without nivolumab works in treating patients with CD30+ lymphoma that has come back after a period of improvement or does not respond to treatment. Biological therapies, such as brentuximab vedotin, may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop cancer cells from growing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving brentuximab vedotin with or without nivolumab may work better in treating patients with CD30+ lymphoma.

Gemcitabine Hydrochloride, Clofarabine, and Busulfan Before Donor Stem Cell Transplant in Treating Patients With Refractory B-Cell or T-Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma or Hodgkin Lymphoma

This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of gemcitabine hydrochloride, clofarabine, and busulfan before donor stem cell transplant and to see how well it works in treating patients with B-cell or T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma or Hodgkin lymphoma that does not respond to treatment. Giving chemotherapy before a donor bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cell transplant helps stop the growth of cancer cells. It may also stop the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. When the healthy stem cells from a donor are infused into the patient they may help the patient's bone marrow make stem cells, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

This international multi-center, randomized, controlled, open-label study investigated the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, efficacy and safety of BCD-020 (INN: rituximab, CJSC Biocad) versus MabThera® (INN: rituximab, F. Hoffmann La Roche, Ltd.) both administered as a monotherapy of patients with indolent non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Patients were randomized to receive 375 mg/m² BCD-020 as intravenous infusion once a week for 4 weeks or MabThera® at the same regimen.

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of alisertib and bortezomib when given together with rituximab in treating patients with mantle cell lymphoma or B-cell low grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma that has returned after a period of improvement (relapsed) or does not respond to treatment (refractory). Alisertib and bortezomib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Monoclonal antibodies, such as rituximab, may interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Giving alisertib and bortezomib together with rituximab may be a better treatment for relapsed or refractory mantle cell lymphoma or B-cell low grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Belinostat and Yttrium Y 90 Ibritumomab Tiuxetan in Patients W/Relapsed Aggressive B-Cell NHL

This study looks at what effects (good and bad) a drug called PXD-101 (belinostat) in combination with the radioactive drug Zevalin (yttrium Y 90 ibritumomab tiuxetan) has on patients with relapsed aggressive (high-risk) non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Studies in the laboratory suggest that drugs such as PXD101 can act upon specific cancer cell processes to cause either death of the cancer cells or prevention of their growth. In human studies with a small number of patients with this lymphoma, PXD-101 has shown the ability to shrink and slow tumor growth. When Zevalin is delivered directly to the tumor, the lymphoma cells are destroyed and this may result in the disappearance of the tumor (remission)
