Filter by:The evaluation of lupus patients must include several approaches, in particular disease activity and quality of life. The Systemic Lupus Activity Questionnaire (SLAQ) is a validated self-questionnaire to evaluate disease activity. It has the advantage of being inexpensive, easy to use in large cohorts and has been used in several studies. It has never been validated in French. The Lupus Quality Of Life (LupusQoL) is a self-questionnaire to evaluate quality of life and is specific to systemic lupus erythematous; it was developed from interviews with patients. This tool, validated in a British population, has never been validated in French.
The primary purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of BIIB059 (litifilimab) in reducing disease activity in participants with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with active cutaneous manifestations and joint involvement (Part A), and in participants with active cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) (Subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE) or chronic CLE, including discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE)) with or without systemic manifestations (Part B). The secondary objective is to evaluate additional efficacy parameters of BIIB059 in reducing SLE/CLE disease activity, pharmacokinetic parameters, safety and tolerability of BIIB059 (Parts A and B).
Whether and when systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients with stable disease should withdraw glucocorticoid (GC)? How about the relapse risk? What are the risk factors for disease flare? All the above are unclear. Long-course GC treatment has a lot of side-effects even in a sustaining low dose. The aim of this study is to explore the relapse risk after GC withdrawal in SLE patients with stable disease more than one year and to establish a predictive model for flare risk stratification.
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune, inflammatory disease and musculoskeletal pain is one of the most common symptoms. This study will investigate whether transcutaneous stimulation of the vagus nerve will decrease lupus musculoskeletal pain. This study will additionally investigate the biologic effects of vagus nerve stimulation on inflammation. It will be the first clinical study using one of the body's own pathways of modulating the immune system and inflammatory response, the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway, in SLE.
We aim to determine the accuracy or blood transcriptomic signatures to predict the occurrence of flares in patients with SLE that are clinically quiescent at inclusion Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic auto-immune disease evolving by flares, with possible organ damage, and periods of remission. Current biological markers of disease activity are not sufficient to predict the occurrence of flares, monitor response to treatment or adapt therapeutic strategies. A previous study on genome-wide whole blood transcriptomic signatures in SLE (Chiche et al, Arthritis Rheumatology 2014) has identified gene panels associated with SLE disease activity
The purpose is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of three different doses of Dapirolizumab Pegol (DZP) versus placebo in adult subjects with moderately to severely active systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of nailfold capillaroscopy in the assessment of patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Primary endpoint: - To compare the frequency of major capillaroscopic abnormalities in patients with SLE and healthy controls. Secondary endpoints: - To compare the frequency of major capillaroscopic abnormalities in patients with active and non-active SLE / active SLE and healthy controls / non-active SLE and healthy controls. - To study the association of different capillaroscopic parameters and the status of subjects (SLE / active SLE / non-active SLE / healthy controls).
Patients with Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are known to present an increased risk of osteoporosis and cardiovascular calcification. It has also been suggested that bone remodelling and cardiovascular calcification are regulated by the same mechanisms, but inversely in terms of calcium deposition, as osteoporosis is often associated with cardiovascular calcification. Inflammatory and immune factors have been implicated in these two processes. The role of the RANKL/OPG system in osteoclast differentiation has been elucidated over the last ten years. RANKL induces differentiation of monocytes-macrophages into osteoclasts, while, inversely, OPG exerts an inhibitory role by inactivating RANKL. Differentiation of smooth muscle cells into osteoblasts in the vessel wall induces calcification, and this phenomenon is counterbalanced by differentiation of monocytes into osteoclasts. Although the role of the RANKL/OPG ratio in the pathogenesis of osteoporosis has now been clearly established, its role in vascular calcification is only hypothetical at the present time. This study will focus on patients with SLE diagnosed and followed in the Amiens University Hospital Internal Medicine and Nephrology departments
