Filter by:in this study, we are trying to monitor the effect of the addition of growth hormone on the different down regulation protocols ( long, short, antagonist and microflare). The outcome will be primarily assessed by the clinical pregnancy rates.
The number of children conceived by assisted reproductive technology is increasing in Nordic countries as well as worldwide. An important factor of success in treatment of infertility is a short "time to pregnancy" with impact on both economical aspects for the society and medical and psychological aspects for the couple. During treatment, success relies on 1) optimal stimulation of growth and maturation of multiple follicles by administration of exogenous follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and 2) selection of the fertilized egg / embryo with the highest potential of implantation to be transferred to the mother. In the present project stimulation of egg production by human urine derived FSH (Fostimon®) and recombinant FSH (Puregon®) will be compared. To this end early embryo development and kinetics after fertilization will be evaluated. The system to be used is time-lapse recording of embryo morphology during the first days of embryo development by means of an embryoscope. Aim of this study is to investigate if Puregon and urinary Fostimon have different effect on embryo quality. The hypothesis of the study is that stimulation of egg production by these two types of follicle stimulating hormone does not have the same effect on early embryo quality.
Female inability to conceive a child. The purpose of this randomized, two-arm and double blind, double dummy study is to demonstrate that the treatment of a daily dose of 3x10mg dydrogesterone orally is as effective and safe as the daily dose of 3x200 mg micronized progesterone capsules administered intravaginally for the luteal support in patients undergoing IVF. The treatment will start on the day of oocyte retrieval and continue until pregnancy is negative or until week 12 gestation.Patients will be followed after treatment until 30 days after delivery to record any safety and tolerability data of the patient and their newborn(s).
The study is seeking to understand how being overweight and obese makes women less fertile. The studies the investigators have done so far indicate that there is a hormone or other substance produced by fat that goes into the blood and reduces reproductive hormones in women who are overweight and obese. The present study will try to find the most promising substances by studying small numbers of women and trying to remove the substances that are causing the problem. Hypothesis: A circulating factor or factors, either hormonal, inflammatory or metabolic, causes relative pituitary hypofunction and correction of this reproductive deficit will allow obese women with infertility who have failed to reduce their body weight to normal to conceive, and may also prevent the horizontal passage of an adverse metabolic phenotype to the offspring.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect on LH levels of the 5-day CC administration during luteal phase in oocyte donors, to investigate whether the CC corrects the suppressed LH levels in the luteal phase and whether it prolongs the luteal phase in the agonist triggered antagonist cycles.
The purpose of this study is to find out more about tests used to estimate the number of eggs a woman has remaining in her ovaries (her 'ovarian reserve'). It is thought that women who have a greater number of eggs or ovarian reserve may have a better chance of successful in vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment than those who have a smaller number of eggs. Accurately predicting the likely outcomes of IVF would be of great benefit for counselling patients before they go through expensive and demanding treatments such as IVF and IVF with Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVFICSI). Over the past two decades, many endocrine and ultrasound markers have been designed and are now used as indicators of ovarian reserve. A number of screening tests are utilized to measure these markers, either by ultrasound scanning techniques or taking blood samples. However it is not yet known which, if any, best predict the outcome of IVF treatment. We would like to investigate these various measures of ovarian reserve to determine which are most accurate, particularly for predicting live birth rates, as up to now only poor to moderate quality evidence has been available for this outcome. This will be a prospective cohort study of 300 women who already intend to undergo IVF/IVF-ICSI treatment. Study participants will have one extra blood sample and ultrasound examination, for the purposes of measuring markers of their ovarian reserve, at the start of their IVF/IVFICSI treatment cycle. No other interventions will be required and their treatment cycle will not be affected by their participation in the study.
This post-marketing, single-center prospective study will be conducted in an open-label, non-interventional setting, for women seeking fertility treatment and will describe cleavage dynamics in relation to the age of the oocyte and gonadotrophin treatment.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of treatment with trans-dermal testosterone cream compared to placebo on measures of ovarian reserve, oocyte and embryo quality, and pregnancy rates among women with evidence of diminished ovarian reserve that have persistently low serum testosterone and free testosterone after completing six previous weeks of DHEA supplementation.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the advanced maternal age as a rationale for performing intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection (IMSI). This prospective randomized study included couples undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) as a result of advanced maternal age (≥ 37 years old). Couples were randomly allocated to receive one of two sperm selection procedures (ICSI, n = 33; or IMSI, n = 33). The groups were compared with regard to fertilization rate, percentage of high-quality embryos, implantation, pregnancy and miscarriage rates.
