NCT ID: NCT05070091 Completed - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

The Impact of Pituitary-thyroid and Pituitary-adrenal Axes Function on COVID-19 Clinical Course.

ENDO-COVID19
Start date: January 26, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The main focus of the study is the assessment of hormonal function in the course of COVID-19 infection with special regard for trends predicting clinical events defined as primary endpoints of the study.

NCT ID: NCT05033496 Completed - Hypothyroidism Clinical Trials

The Yield of Postnatal Thyroid Function Test in the Well Baby Nursery

Start date: January 1, 2011
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Thyroid function test are performed in the well baby nursery to newborn infants of mothers with hypothyroidism, or as part of neonatal jaundice investigation. As thyroid function test are also part of the national screening test program, the investigators raised the option that the above management is unnecessary, and managed a study to investigate it.

NCT ID: NCT05015725 Completed - Hypothyroidism Clinical Trials

The Relationship Between Serum rT3 Concentrations, T3/T4 Ratio, and Symptoms/Quality of Life in Treated Hypothyroid Patients

Start date: August 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between serum rT3 (serum reverse triiodothyronine) concentrations, T3/T4 (triiodothyronine/thyroxine) ratio, and persistent symptoms /quality of life in treated hypothyroid patients. Investigators are going to measure TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone), free-T3, free-T4, reverse-T3 levels, biochemical markers of hypothyroidism and quality of life (assessed by validated questionnaires).

NCT ID: NCT04877665 Completed - Hypothyroidism Clinical Trials

Establishing RIs for TSH in Children Under the Age of Two Years

Start date: August 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Reference intervals (RIs) of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and free thyroxine (FT4) are age, assay and population specific. Currently, the age and assay-specific RIs for TSH are not available for children under two years of age. This study aimed to establish reference intervals for serum concentrations of TSH and FT4 in healthy children aged 1-24 months as per CLSI C28-A3 guidelines.

NCT ID: NCT04860622 Completed - Pregnancy Related Clinical Trials

Normal Range of TSH and FT4 in Pregnancy

NRTSHTURKEY
Start date: April 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Physiological changes necessitate the use of pregnancy-specific reference ranges for thyrotrophin (TSH) and free T4 (FT4) to diagnose thyroid dysfunction during pregnancy. Although many centers use fixed upper limits for TSH of 2.5 or 3.0 mU/L, this may lead to overdiagnosis or even overtreatment. The new guidelines of the American Thyroid Association have considerably changed recommendations regarding thyroid function reference ranges in pregnancy accordingly. Any hospital or physician that is still using the 2.5 or 3.0 mU/l cut-off for TSH during pregnancy should evaluate their own lab-specific cut-offs. The investigator's objective is to establish a rational reference range of serum TSH for the diagnosis of subclinical hypothyroidism in the first, second, and third trimester of pregnant women in the Sancaktepe region in Turkey.

NCT ID: NCT04782856 Completed - Thyroid Cancer Clinical Trials

Energy Metabolism in Thyroidectomized Patients

Start date: October 28, 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this research study is to measure the changes in energy metabolism (how the body burns energy), cardiovascular function (heart function), and lipid metabolism (cholesterol break down and building) before and after thyroidectomy (surgical removal of thyroid gland) in response to two approved therapies for hypothyroidism: levothyroxine (LT4) or Liothyronine/levothyroxine (LT3/LT4) combination therapy.

NCT ID: NCT04767763 Completed - Clinical trials for Secondary Hypothyroidism

Thyroid Function in Critically Ill Patients With Acute Kidney Injury

Start date: February 19, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The objective of this study was to assess the changes in thyroid hormones and its activity during CRRT in patients with Acute Kidney Injury.

NCT ID: NCT04682340 Completed - Hypothyroidism Clinical Trials

Analysis of BPA Concentration in Serum in Women of Reproductive Age With Autoimmune Thyroid Disease

Start date: December 22, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of the study is to assess the relationship between the concentration of bisphenol A in serum and selected parameters of thyroid function in women of reproductive age with thyroid dysfunction - Hashimoto's disease and Graves' disease.

NCT ID: NCT04648722 Completed - Hypothyroidism Clinical Trials

Higher Levothyroxine Requirements After Right-side Hemithyroidectomy

Start date: May 5, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

459 adult patients who received a hemithyroidectomy at the Department of General Surgery, Division of Endocrine Surgery and a follow-up visit (3-12 months post-surgery) at the thyroid outpatient clinic of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Medical University of Vienna between 1994 and 2018 were identified and investigated in this retrospective study. The aim of this study was to investigate whether patients post right side hemithyroidectomy require a higher mean levothyroxine dosage than patients after left lobe hemithyroidectomy as the right thyroid lobe is bigger than the left lobe. Further, we aimed at developing a better post-surgery thyroid dosage prediction model.

NCT ID: NCT04528225 Completed - Breast Neoplasms Clinical Trials

A Prospective Study of Hypothyroidism After Radiotherapy for Breast Cancer

Start date: November 15, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study is to prospectively investigate the incidence of hypothyroidism after postoperative radiotherapy and identify risk factors for development of hypothyroidism. Patients with breast cancer treated with surgery followed by radiotherapy is enrolled. Thyroid function was assessed at baseline and different times after radiotherapy. The radiation technique, thyroid dose parameters and hypothyroidism are prospective evaluated, and the dose-effect relationship is analyzed.
