NCT ID: NCT04761315 Completed - Clinical trials for Fibrillation, Atrial

Detecting Atrial Fibrillation in Patients With an Embolic Stroke of Undetermined Source (From the DAF-ESUS Registry)

Start date: January 1, 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The presence of interatrial block (IAB) is associated with the development of atrial fibrillation (AF). The aim of this study was to determine whether P-wave duration and presence of IAB before the implantation of a cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) are associated with the presence of atrial high rate episodes (AHRE), during long-term follow-up.

NCT ID: NCT04537507 Completed - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

Atrial Fibrillation and Non-obstructive Coronary Lesions

AF-CAD
Start date: January 2010
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia associated with excessive risk of ischemic stroke and heart failure as well as reduced life expectancy. On the other hand, chronic coronary syndromes (CCS) remains the main cause of morbidity and mortality in an aging population. Both disease entities share common risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes and obesity The purpose of the study is to investigate the hypothesis indicating lack of significant coronary lesions in AF vs. sinus rhythm (SR) patients.

NCT ID: NCT00911300 Completed - Clinical trials for Fibrillation, Atrial

Evaluation of Fondaparinux in Patients With a Heart Rhythm Disturbance Who Undergo Restoration of Normal Heart Rhythm

Start date: August 2009
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test whether Fondaparinux is effective and safe to prevent thromboembolic events (like for example strokes) and bleeding events in patients who undergo a normalisation of their heart rhythm disturbance. Fondaparinux will be compared with Heparin and tablets containing Vitamin-K-Antagonists (Phenprocoumon, Fluindione, or Warfarin).

NCT ID: NCT00402363 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Efficacy and Safety of Lovaza (Omega-3-Acid Ethyl Esters) in Recurrent, Symptomatic Atrial Fibrillation

Start date: November 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate efficacy and safety of Omacor (omega-3-acid ethyl esters) in patients with recurrent, symptomatic atrial fibrillation.

NCT ID: NCT00244725 Completed - Pulmonary Embolism Clinical Trials

Odiparcil For The Prevention Of Venous Thromboembolism

Start date: September 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Odiparcil is being studied to determine if it can prevent blood clots from forming after a total knee replacement and also to prove that odiparcil is safe.

NCT ID: NCT00240643 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Use Of SB424323 With Aspirin In Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation In Patients At A Low Or Intermediate Risk For Stroke

Start date: November 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study will allow determination of the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics of SB424323 in a relevant population. The data from this study will be used along with other data to aid in choosing the most appropriate dose for the later phase study.

NCT ID: NCT00041496 Completed - Clinical trials for Fibrillation, Atrial

Prevention Of Recurrence Of Atrial Fibrillation

Start date: November 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the study drug is effective in preventing the recurrence of atrial fibrillation (an abnormal heart rhythm).
