Secondary aims including determining whether floating has an impact on symptom reports such as those related to anxiety and eating disorders.

The researchers plan to explore brain networks involved in emotion processing and learning using a brain scan and test meals. One core feature of Anorexia Nervosa (AN) is eating a small number of high-calorie or high-fat foods. By studying why individuals with AN are disgusted by food or other eating situations, the researchers will be able to understand more about the neurobiological pathways that lead to restricting food intake and food avoidance. This study also aims to find whether one of two short-term interventions (Interoceptive Exposure (IE); Family-Based Therapy (FBT)) affects connections in the brain and if the treatments affect food avoidance. IE is an intervention that helps reduce anxiety about eating. FBT is an intervention that motivates patients to eat through working with family to increase the value of eating and decrease the value of avoiding foods.
This study will investigate neural activation patterns in emotion- and cognition-related brain regions during an emotion regulation task involving cognitive reappraisal, and their associations with age and pubertal status, among overweight children and adolescents with loss of control eating as compared to overweight and normal-weight controls.
The aim of this study is to test whether MotivATE can increase attendance at assessment. This will be done using a single-consent Zelen randomised control trial, with all non-emergency adult clients referred to the Kimmeridge Courte Eating Disorder Service over a one year period being randomised to either treatment as usual (TAU) or TAU plus access to the MotivATE intervention prior to their assessment appointment.
The purpose of this study is to further develop the integrated Eating Aversion Treatment (iEAT) manual, which is designed to address chronic food aversion in children with chronic food refusal. This study will evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of the iEAT manual when it is used in the home home environment with caregivers.
Background: Previous studies on Internet-based treatment with eating disorders have shown promising results. Objective: The first aim of this study was to investigate the effects of a tailored therapist guided internet-based treatment for individuals with eating disorders. The second aim was to examine the role of knowledge acquisition. Method: 138 participants were recruited. Screening consisted of online questionnaires followed by a telephone interview. A total of 92 participants were included after a semi-structured diagnostic interview and randomized to an 8 week treatment program (n=46) or to a control condition (n=46). Treatment consisted of individually prescribed cognitive behaviour therapy text modules in conjunction with online therapist guidance. The control group consisted of a waitlist who later received treatment.

The goal of this project is to evaluate the effectiveness and tolerability of the novel weight management medication PHEN/TPM ER (Qsymia®)along with nutritional and lifestyle modification counseling in the treatment of binge eating disorder (BED) in overweight or obese individuals.
The combination of EDs (ED) and post-traumatic sequelae of childhood trauma leads to significant impairment, suffering and represents a public health concern because it is frequently associated with role impairment, and is frequently under-treated. Considering the severity of these conditions, there is a need to develop more effective treatments that are tailored to the specific needs of these patients as no conclusion has been made about the treatment of choice. To improve treatment it is critically important to study treatment effects and the mechanism of these effects.
