This study objectively held to compare the physiological outcomes in the non-invasive (NIV) treatment of Acute Cardiogenic Pulmonary Oedema (ACPE) patients in the Emergency Department (ED) delivered by Helmet CPAP (hCPAP) and HFNC.Patients will be randomized to receive either hCPAP or HFNC.

MRI Assessment of Pulmonary Edema in Acute Heart Failure

Researchers are testing a more accurate way to measure how much fluid is in the lungs (also called pulmonary edema, or "increased lung water") in people with Heart Failure (HF) using MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). There is little known about the exact level of lung water in patients with AHF or how these levels change from the time of hospital admission to discharge. The purpose of this research study is to measure the lung water in patients hospitalized for HF, to determine the change in lung water over the course of hospitalization and treatment, and to find out if lung water levels can predict if patients are higher or lower risk for returning to the hospital or dying from heart failure.

In this study, authors describe a new surgical technique for the treatment of refractory non tractional DME. The technique consists of vitrectomy with ILM peeling with subretinal injection of Ranibizumab.

One Year Results of Switching to Aflibercept for Persistent Diabetic Macular Edema Resistant to Bevacizumab

Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the functional and anatomical effects of switching from Bevacizumab to Aflibercept in patients with persistent DME resistant to Bevacizumab. Methods: Patients with DME refractory to Bevacizumab (1.25 mg/ 0.05 mL) were subsequently switched to Aflibercept (2.0 mg/0.05 ml). The included patients received 5 loading doses of intravitreal Aflibercept (2.0 mg/0.05 mL) (Eylea; Bayer, Berlin, Germany) given monthly. After the loading dose, Aflibercept was injected every 2 months. The follow up duration was one year.

Kinesiotape Treatment for Postoperative Edema After Joint Replacement Surgery of the Knee- The KNEETAPE Study

Postoperative edema is a common condition affecting wound healing and function. Traditionally, manual lymphatic drainage and compressive bandages have been employed to reduce swelling. Kinesiotaping might be an alternative approach. To analyse the efficacy, cost-effectiveness, satisfaction, quality of life, functional outcome and and morbidity of the use of kinesiotape for the treatment of postoperative edema after knee replacement surgery, compared to standard manual lymphatic drainage with compression (i.e. compressive stockings or bandages) or sham taping.
