NCT ID: NCT05924711 Recruiting - Peri-Implantitis Clinical Trials

"Association of Peri-implantitis and Maxillary Sinusitis: a Case-control Study".

Start date: June 6, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Scientific evidence regarding the influence of peri-implantitis on Schneider's membrane thickening is scarce and limited. Similarly, to date, there is no literature documenting the resolution of implant-associated maxillary sinusitis with peri-implantitis after treatment of peri-implantitis or removal of the implant. Therefore, the aim of this case-control study is to investigate the association between peri-implantitis and maxillary sinusitis. On the other hand, the changes that occur at the level of the maxillary sinus membrane after treatment of peri-implantitis or after implant explantation will be evaluated.

NCT ID: NCT05724706 Completed - Oxidative Stress Clinical Trials

An Evaluation of Salivary Oxidant and Antioxidant Levels in Peri-implant Health and Disease

Start date: September 1, 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Objectives: Inflammatory lesions develop in the tissues surrounding implants are referred to as peri-implant diseases. Oxidants, play a role in inflammatory lesions. The study aimed to determine oxidant and antioxidant levels in the saliva of patients with various levels of peri-implant diseases and the relationship between oxidative stress and peri-implant diseases. Material and methods: Sixty-seven patients with at least one dental implant applied in our clinic were included in the study. The patients were divided into 3 groups; with peri-implantitis (PI), with marginal bone loss (MBL) and with healthy peri-implant (HI) tissues. Twenty-one individuals who didn't have any dental implants were included the study as a healthy control group (HC). For oxidant concentration, total oxidant status (TOS), advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP), and for antioxidant concentration, total antioxidant status (TAS), were investigated.

Comparison of Two Different Types of Platelet Concentrate to Augment Bone Around Immediate Dental Implant

Start date: February 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinial trial is to detect Which one of two different platelet concentrate bio-membrane (first or third generation) is better in terms of marginal bone level and bone density around immediate implants in esthetic zone using Cone beam computerized tomography The plasma rich in growth factor or concentrated growth factor? 20 patients with nonrestorable maxillary tooth in the esthetic zone, Subjects will be enrolled The study will use simple randomization to allocate patients into 2 groups, each group will be included 10 patients: Group A: (concentrated growth factor group) ten patients indicated for immediate implant in the maxillary anterior region (class II socket), will be a candidate for immediate implant placement with CGF combined with xenogeneic bone graft Group B: (platelet-rich in growth factor group) Ten patients who indicated immediate implant in the maxillary anterior region (class I or class II socket), will be a candidate for immediate implant placement with PRGF combined with xenogeneic bone graft.

NCT ID: NCT05494476 Completed - Alveolar Bone Loss Clinical Trials

Stability of the Marginal Bone Around Subcrestal Implants

Start date: October 23, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The extent of marginal bone remodeling around the neck of dental implants has been used for many years as a criterion for defining their long-term success. Apico-coronal position represents a crucial factor in this field. This study aims to establish the optimal insertion depth of a subcrestal implant, with the aim of minimizing the bone resorption.

NCT ID: NCT05156294 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Dental Implant Failure Nos

Effect of Soft Tissue Augmentation With an Acellular Dermal Matrix in Marginal Bone Levels Around Implants

Start date: January 10, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The main objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of an acellular dermal matrix membrane to increase the peri-implant soft tissue thickness and to reduce marginal bone loss during non-submerged implant placement, as compared with the standard protocol for implant placement. The test hypothesis is that placing an acellular dermal matrix membrane simultaneous to implant placement in the posterior mandible, will increase the soft tissue thickness and consequently reduce the marginal bone level changes. The study is designed as a doubled-blind, parallel groups, randomized clinical trial with a 1-year follow-up

NCT ID: NCT04906161 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Vitamin D and Serum Calcium Level Insufficiency and Early Dental Implant Failure

Start date: January 20, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In this study there is a trial to investigate whether there is a correlation between early implant failure and low serum levels of vitamin D.

NCT ID: NCT04299386 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Dental Implant Failure Nos

Effect of Nanocrystal Gels on the Management of Peri-implant Diseases

Start date: July 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Dental implants are a well-accepted treatment for replacing missing teeth, due to excellent patient satisfaction regarding function, aesthetics, and comfort, as well as their long-term survival. However, the accumulation of bacterial biofilm on implants changes their surface biocompatibility and initiates peri-implant diseases, such as peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis. Professional cleaning of the implant surface is necessary to remove the biofilm and facilitate healing within the surrounding tissue. Prophylaxis pastes can be used in dental clinics to assist the mechanical removal of biofilm by dental professionals. However, these pastes can contain abrasives that detrimentally affect the surface stability and chemical properties of the implant surfaces. ImplanTreat® and Neophylaxis® are novel nanocrystal gels designed for implants' professional cleaning, under surgical and non-surgical procedures respectively. These products present high biocompatibility proprieties that can improve peri-implant bone healing. Moreover, they don't contain abrasives, or fluoride, which preserves the implant surfaces. The researchers hypothesize that professional implant cleaning with Neophylaxis® or ImplanTreat® results in a greater reduction of peri-implant inflammation and dental plaque accumulation in comparison to cleaning without any product. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to verify if Neophylaxis® and ImplanTreat® enhance the efficacy of professional cleaning and preserve implant surface roughness. The researchers will randomly divide the recruited participant into two groups depending on the clinical diagnosis, each patient will be either recruited in peri-implant mucositis group (Group I), or in peri-implantitis group (Group II). Each patient in the group I will be assigned randomly to receive either implant cleaning with Neophylaxis® or cleaning without. Similarly, each patient in group II will be assigned randomly to receive either implant cleaning with ImplanTreat® or cleaning without. No participant will be aware of his allocation before the end of data collection. In each evaluation session, The researchers will examine the participants' implants and evaluate the removal of biofilm as well as the improvement of the peri-implant tissue health and bone level. The researchers will then analyze and compare the results obtained from each study group.

NCT ID: NCT04082143 Completed - Clinical trials for Dental Implant Failure Nos

CATER: Comprehensive Alveolar and Tooth Esthetic Replacement

CATER
Start date: August 25, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to prospectively evaluate whether including an allogeneic gum graft (PerioDerm*) during dental implant therapy improves implant health and appearance. On the day of implant surgery, participating subjects will be randomized to either receive or not receive a supplemental gum graft along with the implant. Participating subjects will also be asked to complete a brief (about 15 questions) oral health questionnaire. Participating subjects will return to the clinic about 8 weeks post surgery for digital crown impressions and again at 11-13 weeks after surgery for crown placement. Participating subjects will also return to clinic at 1 year after implant placement for implant evaluation. At this final study appointment, x-rays and a 3D intraoral scan will be obtained for the purpose of measuring alveolar volume. The health of the mucosa surrounding the implant and subject satisfaction will be assessed via bleeding upon probing and completion of a brief questionnaire, respectively.
