Filter by:management of endodontically treated first permanent molar with deep dental caries is one of the challenging procedure that the operator face. Using resin endocrown or stainless steel crown restoration to make comparison which one is more successful in children.
Nano-hydroxyapatite is an interesting candidate to be a substitute for fluor in toothpastes or a complement to fluorides in order to prevent caries. The objective of this transversal descriptive study is to evaluate the profiles of people living in France who could be interested in using a nano-hydroxyapatite based toothpaste. Participants in this transversal descriptive study have been chosen by a self-administered method. Before answering 16 questions, the participants were asked to watch a short video describing the main concepts to know about fluoridated toothpastes and nano-hydoxyapatite toothpastes. Pros and cons of each one them were mentioned. In order to compare the answers, pivot tables have been produced.
this clinical study will be carried out to evaluate the effect of fluoride varnish with silver nanoparticles in comparison to silver diamine fluoride in management of deep carious lesions.
Different phases of a woman's life are puberty, menses, pregnancy, and menopause. Menopause is one of the normal developmental stages in a woman's life, marks the permanent cessation of menstruation. It occurs due to irreversible changes in the hormones. The gradual variation and circulating sex hormones affect women's psychological balance and quality of life. The hormonal changes affect the reproductory system and affect the bone integrity and overall health of the individual. The only source of oocytes in women is an ovary. That is the primary source of oestrogens and progesterone, majorly the androgens. Therefore, various systemic health concerns like vasomotor symptoms, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, sexual problems, osteoporosis, and poor oral health
In Taiwan, the prevalence of sleep problems, myopia, and dental caries in school-age children is high. Little is known regarding the implementation of oral and vision health outcomes around bedtime. A bedtime routine intervention was conducted to improve children's oral, vision and sleep health.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of two different distraction techniques (Audio Video Distraction /Video Game Distraction) in the management of anxious pediatric patients during dental treatment. Group A: pulpotomy in temporary inferior molar will be treated with using video game on tablet device with wireless joystick and wireless headphone Group B: pulpotomy in temporary inferior molar will be treated with using AV tablet and wireless headphone. Group C (Control group): pulpotomy in temporary inferior molar will be treated with basic behavior guidance techniques and without using any type of distraction aids. All of the children who experienced a pulpotomy in temporary inferior molar with/without distraction will be assessed by using a combination of measures: Simplified Wong-Baker faces(self-report), and "HOUPT" Behavior Rating Scale for Movement - Crying - Overall Behavior (nonself-report).
A randomized clinical trial that aims to evaluate clinical and radiographic success rates of indirect pulp capping and direct pulp capping in primary molars with reversible pulpitis using a light-cured tri-calcium silicate base material (TheraCal (LC)).
Objectives To compare oral health (dental caries, periodontal status, and erosive tooth wear (ETW)), diet and oral hygiene habits between obese and normal weight adolescents, and to explore possible risk associations. Materials and Methods In this case-control study, a convenient sample of 81 obese adolescents (age range 11-18) from a rehabilitation centre, and 81 age-sex-matched normal weight adolescents were selected. Groups were defined using the Body Mass Index and growth curves for Flemish. Oral health was measured using DMFT, gingival, plaque and BEWE index. A validated questionnaire was utilized to assess diet and oral hygiene habits.
The aim of the study is to compare application of sealants together with fluoride varnishes versus only fluoride varnishes in preventing caries lesions development in the occlusal surface of first permanent molars of children with ASDs.
The literature recognizes that fluoride is the most widely used and studied means for dental remineralization. The use of fluoride mouthwashes is shown as an effective way to increase the fluoride intraoral availability. However, the current challenge is the substantivity, so new compounds have been introduced into these formulations. This study aims to evaluate the in vivo effect of fluoride mouthwash containing nanoencapsulated Fluoride (NanoF) - in fluoride retention in saliva and dental plaque. A study of the clinical and laboratory type, crossover, double-blind, randomized will be held. After sample calculation, the total of 12 individuals aged between 18 and 35 years old, healthy, decayed, missing, and filled teeth index less than 6 and residents in brazilian northeast capital will be part of the sample. Fluoride bioavailability will be evaluated in the biofilm and saliva after the use of fluoridated weekly. The biofilm will be assessed on 1h and 12 h after rinsing; and unstimulated saliva in times of 3, 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes and 12 hours after. It will be 3 mouthwashes: 50% Nanoencapsulated Fluoride, 100% Nanoencapsulated Fluoride and Free sodium fluoride. Between weeks of use, rinsing will be extended washout (without fluoride) to avoid carryover effect. Inferential data analysis will be carried out, considering the amount of alpha <0.05. So knowing that caries is a dynamic process, the largest fluoride retention in the oral fluids promoted by the Nanoencapsulated Fluoride may have important impact on Des-Re process and in the control of dental caries.
