There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This phase II trial studies how well nivolumab and ipilimumab work in treating patients with kidney cancer. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab and ipilimumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.
This study plans to learn if pravastatin is helpful in slowing down the progression of kidney disease in adults with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). Pravastatin has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for adults for treatment of hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol levels). The investigators are using pravastatin in this study as an investigational drug for treatment of ADPKD.
This is phase 3b study seeks to evaluate the safety of elagolix in combination with estradiol/norethindrone acetate for the management of heavy menstrual bleeding associated with uterine fibroids in premenopausal women. This study is double-blinded in the first year and an open-label for the next three years.
This randomized phase III trial studies how well avelumab works in treating patients with Merkel cell cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes and have undergone surgery and/or radiation therapy. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as avelumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.
This is a randomized clinical trial comparing eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) to progressive counting (PC) for volunteers from the community who are distressed by the memory of a motor vehicle accident. Participants will be assigned to the geographically nearest therapist, and then randomized to treatment condition.
Lipedema is a disorder characterized by massive, bilateral accumulation of fat below the waist and in the legs. Enlargement of the lower extremities is often accompanied by leg pain and accumulation of fluid. Little is known about the functional changes that lead to fat accumulation and pain in women with lipedema. The goals of this project are to conduct a comprehensive characterization of abdominal and femoral fat tissues in lean and obese women with lipedema and to evaluate the potential effect of diet-induced weight loss as a therapy. Once enrolled in the study, the following tests will be conducted on lean women with lipedema: characterization of body composition (fat tissue distribution), insulin sensitivity (response to insulin) and adipose tissue biology. The following tests will be conducted on obese women with lipedema: characterization of body composition (fat tissue distribution), insulin sensitivity (response to insulin), adipose tissue biology, and immune system function/inflammation. As control, we will have BMI-matched women that are metabolically normal lean (MNL), metabolically normal obese (MNO) and metabolically abnormal obese (MAO) already analyzed in different studies at Washington University (IRB# 201512086). MNL, MAO and MNO subjects underwent the same testing described above for the lipedema. Therefore, we will use the data generated from IRB# 201512086 as comparison groups in the statistical analysis to understand differences and similarities between lipedema and obesity. A second aim of the study is to determine the effect of diet-induced weight loss on body composition, insulin sensitivity, and adipose tissue biology in women with lipedema. The results from this second aim of the study will hopefully provide important insights on the efficacy of diet therapy in managing lipedema.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of Regulate and Gain Emotional Control (RAGE-Control), a biofeedback video game, in combination with brief instruction in relaxation skills as an intervention for symptoms of anger and aggression in children and adolescents. Half of the research participants will learn relaxation techniques and practice them using the RAGE-Control videogame. The other half of the participants will learn relaxation techniques and play a similar videogame without the biofeedback component. The investigators hypothesize that participants in the RAGE-Control group will show a greater reduction in symptoms of anger and aggression than those in the non-RAGE-Control group.
The study described below is designed to assess the safety and device performance for the drug coated balloon (DCB) for the treatment of urethral stricture.
The purpose of this study is to figure out which commonly used antibiotic, cefoxitin or piperacillin-tazobactam, is better at decreasing the rate of surgical site infections after pancreatoduodenectomy.
This protocol will confirm toxicities and estimate the clinical efficacy of combining anti-CD3 x anti-EGFR bispecific antibody (EGFRBi) armed activated T cells (EGFR BATs) given to patients with locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer who have received at least one dose of first line chemotherapy and may have responding, stable or progressive disease. Phase Ib will confirm a safe dose of 8 infusions, given twice weekly, of EGFR-BATs in 3 to 6 subjects. The phase II portion of the trial will test the clinical efficacy of this dose in 22 patients (including those in Phase Ib).
