There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The goal of the study is to address the clinical problem of poor education outcome from the current practice of teaching tracheostomy care by providing them with a pictographic education handout to assist their learning. The study seeks to establish face validity and preliminary efficacy of a pictographic education handout with patients and identify factors associated with lower self-efficacy level on tracheostomy care.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term safety of intramuscular (IM) administration of Engensis in Participants with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) who were previously randomized, received treatment, and completed the Day 180 Visit of Study VMALS-002-2. Safety will be assessed by incidences of treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs), treatment emergent serious adverse events (TESAEs), adverse events of special interest (AESIs), and the clinically significant laboratory values. See the table below for additional, exploratory endpoints.
The AudibleHealth Dx is a diagnostic software as a medical device (Dx SaMD) consisting of an ensemble of software subroutines that interacts with a proprietary database of Signal Data Signatures (SDS), using Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) to analyze forced cough vocalization signal data signatures (FCV-SDS) for diagnostic purposes. This study will evaluate the performance of the AudibleHealth Dx in comparison to a standard of care Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test for the diagnosis of COVID-19. Bidirectional Sanger sequencing will be used to reduce the rate of false negative and false positive results. A secondary purpose of the study will be usability testing of the device for participants and providers.
The primary objective of the study is to prospectively and randomly compare the incidence, duration, and severity of oxygen desaturation between a nasal mask with nasal positive airway pressure (PAP) versus oxygen therapy with a facemask during procedural deep sedation in patients considered high risk for hypoxia (ie: BMI ≥30 kg/m2 or documented Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of a bed cooling system on subjective and objective measures of sleep in physicians who work rotating shifts. The intent of the Investigators is to perform a before-and-after trial of a bed cooling system and determine the effects of that cooling system on sleep.
The physical demands of surgery are in many ways similar to those of high-performance athletes. No professional athlete would consider performing without careful attention to strengthening and physical preparedness, yet surgeons routinely place rigorous demands on their bodies without any training plan specific to their work demands. A series of exercises were developed to help stretch and strengthen the key core muscles to support surgeons during operating to prevent neck pain. This study hypothesizes that Neck pain discomfort will decrease following an 8-week intervention program compared to baseline reported scores.
To evaluate whether or not high quality protein intake from a mixed meal can be increased by using culinary herbs and spices to increase flavor intensity and food item liking in older adults.
The Investigator seeks to evaluate the long term neurological and pulmonary sequelae of COVID-19.
The aim of this study is to test if using a web-based medical decision-making tool on the topics of fertility and fertility-preservation increases knowledge among transgender youth and young adults.
The investigators propose prospectively evaluating if adding separate sutures to the angles of the vaginal cuff before running barbed suture reduces the incidence of patient's perception of bleeding after surgery.
