NCT ID: NCT01792557 Active, not recruiting - Pilonidal Sinus Clinical Trials

Crystallized Phenol Versus Transposition Flaps for Treatment of Pilonidal Disease: A Prospective Study

Start date: March 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Although surgical techniques such as limberg flap. modified limberg flap and karydakis are currently most popular treatment methods for pilonidal disease, crystallized phenol application is also successfully used for pilonidal sinus treatment by different centers. We believe crystallized phenol application could become a good alternative to popular surgical interventions using transposition flaps.

NCT ID: NCT01776840 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Mantle Cell Lymphoma

Start date: May 2013
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ibrutinib given in combination with bendamustine and rituximab in patients 65 years of age or older with newly diagnosed mantle cell lymphoma.

NCT ID: NCT01772472 Active, not recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

A Study of Trastuzumab Emtansine Versus Trastuzumab as Adjuvant Therapy in Patients With HER2-Positive Breast Cancer Who Have Residual Tumor in the Breast or Axillary Lymph Nodes Following Preoperative Therapy (KATHERINE)

Start date: April 3, 2013
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This 2-arm, randomized, open-label study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of trastuzumab emtansine versus trastuzumab as adjuvant therapy in patients with HER2-positive breast cancer who have residual tumor present in the breast or axillary lymph nodes following preoperative therapy. Eligible patients will be randomized to receive either trastuzumab emtansine 3.6 mg/kg or trastuzumab 6 mg/kg intravenously every 3 weeks for 14 cycles. Radiotherapy and/or hormone therapy will be given in addition if indicated.

NCT ID: NCT01764646 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Malignant Neoplasm of Prostate

Hypofractionated Radiation Therapy in Prostate Cancer

Start date: September 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: It is not yet known whether extreme hypofractionation is equally safe and effective than standard radiation therapy in treating prostate cancer. PURPOSE: This protocol presents a randomised phase II study aiming to investigate the tolerance and disease control of extreme hypofractionated Radiation Therapy for prostate cancer.

NCT ID: NCT01757535 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Leukemia, Myeloid, Acute

Efficacy of Oral Azacitidine Plus Best Supportive Care as Maintenance Therapy in Subjects With Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in Complete Remission

QUAZAR AML-001
Start date: April 24, 2013
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study enrolled 472 participants, aged 55 or older, with a diagnosis of de novo acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or AML secondary to prior myelodysplastic disease or chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML), and who have achieved first complete remission (CR)/ complete remission with incomplete blood count recovery (CRi) following induction with or without consolidation chemotherapy. The study is amended to include an extension phase (EP). The EP allows participants who are currently receiving oral azacitidine and who are demonstrating clinical benefit as assessed by the investigator, to continue receiving oral azacitidine after unblinding by sponsor until the participant meets the criteria for study discontinuation or until oral azacitidine becomes commercially available and reimbursed. In addition, all participants in the placebo arm and participants who had been discontinued from the treatment phase (irrespective of randomization arm) and continuing in the follow-up phase will be followed for survival in the EP.

Start date: January 2013
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

An Open-label, Single arm, Multicenter Phase 2 Study of the Bruton's Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor PCI-32765 (Ibrutinib) in Patients with Relapsed or Refractory Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia or Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma with 17p Deletion

NCT ID: NCT01742299 Active, not recruiting - GIST and CML Clinical Trials

Study to Allow Access to Imatinib for Patients Who Are on Imatinib Treatment in a Novartis-sponsored Study and Are Benefiting From the Treatment as Judged by the Investigator

Start date: March 26, 2013
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to allow continued use of imatinib in patients who are on imatinib treatment in a Novartis-sponsored, Oncology Clinical Development & Medical Affairs (CD&MA) study and are benefiting from the treatment as judged by the investigator.

NCT ID: NCT01712490 Active, not recruiting - Hodgkin Lymphoma Clinical Trials

A Frontline Therapy Trial in Participants With Advanced Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma

Start date: November 9, 2012
Phase: Phase 3

This open-label, randomized, 2-arm, multicenter, phase 3 study has the primary objective of comparing the modified progression-free survival (mPFS) obtained with brentuximab vedotin (ADCETRIS®) plus AVD (doxorubicin [Adriamycin], vinblastine, and dacarbazine; abbreviated A+AVD) versus that obtained with ABVD (doxorubicin [Adriamycin],bleomycin, vinblastine, and dacarbazine) for the frontline treatment of advanced classical Hodgkin lymphoma(HL)

NCT ID: NCT01687959 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Cholelithiasis Associated With Common Bile Duct Stones

Timing of Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy After Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiography for Acute Biliary Pancreatitis

Start date: September 2012
Phase: Phase 0
Study type: Interventional

Timing of laparoscopic cholecystectomy following after endoscopic retrograde cholangiography for acute biliary pancreatitis is a controversial issue. There are still many confounding findings offering either early laparoscopic cholecystectomy within 72 hours following endoscopic sphincterotomy or delayed surgery after 6 weeks. Peritoneal plasmin system is known to be an important factor in peritoneal healing and adhesion formation. Measurement of tissue concentrations of tissue-type plasminogen activator and its specific activity, urokinase-type plasminogen activator, and plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 are thought to be helpful to show peritoneal adhesions after endoscopic sphincterotomy.
