Onlıne Yoga Compared to Face-To-Face Yoga on Dıaphragm Thıckness, Body Balance and Psychosocıal Status

The goal of this randomized controlled study was to compared six-week online yoga program with six-week face-to-face yoga program on diaphragm thickness, body balance and physio social status in young female individuals. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Does online yoga have similar effects compared to face-to-face yoga in terms of diaphragm thickness? - Does online yoga have similar effects compared to face-to-face yoga in terms of body balance? - Does online yoga have similar effects compared to face-to-face yoga in terms of psychosocial status such as level of anxiety and social media addiction? Participants completed the experimental steps of ultrasound scanning, balance testing and the scales questioning psychosocial status before and after 6-week online yoga program. After the pandemic conditions normalized, new participants were invited, and a 6-weeks face-to-face yoga program was applied and the same tests were applied before and after the program. As a control group, individuals whose physical activity levels were monitored and who did not participate in any exercise program were evaluated twice, six weeks apart. The researchers compared these three groups and examined whether there were differences between the groups in terms of the investigated parameters.

The Effect of External Pressure Applı̇ed to the Palm on Labor Paı̇n and Childbirth Experı̇ence

The study was carried out to evaluate the effect of external pressure applied to the palm on labor pain and childbirth experience.The sample of the randomized controlled study consisted of 60 nulliparous (30 in the experimental group and 30 in the control group) pregnant women who presented to Zeynep Kamil Gynecology and Pediatrics Training and Research Hospital between April and June 2020 to give birth and met the research conditions. The Descriptive Information Form, Follow-Up Form Related to Labor Action, Childbirth Experience Questionnaire (CEQ), and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) were used in data collection. During the 5-6 cm, 7-8 cm, and 9-10 cm cervical dilatation stages of the labor process, palm external pressure was applied to the pregnant women in the experimental group, while standard midwifery care was provided to the pregnant women in the control group. The VAS was applied to both groups at admission to the hospital, before and after the 5-6 cm, 7-8 cm, and 9-10 cm cervical dilatation stages, and also at the 30th minute postpartum. Data were analyzed Statistical Package for Social Sciences 24.0 program using number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Levene's test and independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA test, analysis of variance, and chi-square test. In all analyses, p<0.05 values will be considered statistically significant.

Cardiometabolic Effects of Aerobic Exercise Plus Breaking Sitting

The goal of this randomized crossover clinical trial is to investigate the effects of interrupting prolonged sitting with intermittent walks of equal volume but at different frequencies, in addition to moderate-intensity aerobic exercise, on postprandial serum lipid profile in young adults between the ages of 18-30. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Do interrupting prolonged sitting with intermittent walks of equal volume but at different frequencies sustain positive cardiometabolic effects after moderate-intensity aerobic exercise? - If "yes", which frequency of breaks is more effective to provide cardiometabolic benefits? Participants will complete four conditions on separate days: 1) 6.5 hours of prolonged sitting after 30 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise 2) breaking prolonged sitting with 2 minutes of walking every 30 minutes after 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise 3) breaking prolonged sitting with 4 minutes of walking every 1-h after 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise 4) breaking prolonged sitting with 8 minutes of walking every 2-h after 30 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise.

Transcutaneous Bilirubin Levels From Covered Skin

The aim of this study was to evaluate the levels of total serum bilirubin and transcutaneous bilirubin in newborns, measured in both covered and exposed areas, before phototherapy, 24th hour of phototherapy and 8 hours after cessation of phototherapy. The study included term and preterm newborns that required phototherapy between postnatal days 0-28. Total serum bilirubin levels and transcutaneous bilirubin measurements were obtained using the MBJ20-2019 Transcutaneous Handheld Bilirubinometer (Beijing M&B Electronic Instruments Co. Ltd. China, 2019) from both exposed (sternal) and unexposed (forehead, covered with a radio-opaque patch) areas before, at 24th hours and eight hours after phototherapy.

In this study, the investigators aim to examine the immediate effects of the SMV technique on balance and proprioception in young adults. With this study, by revealing the effects of the SMV technique on balance and proprioception, a different treatment option will be offered to clinicians working in the field of physical therapy and rehabilitation and interested in the rehabilitation of patients who may have balance and proprioception problems. It will also provide insight to academics working in this field in terms of the applicability of this technique among different patient groups.

The Effect of Crossword and Word Search Puzzles on Nursing Students' Parenteral Medication Administration Knowledge

This study was conducted in a pretest-posttest parallel-group, randomized controlled design.The population of the study consisted of students (n=220) enrolled in the Fundamentals of Nursing course at the Faculty of Nursing of a public university in the 2022-2023 academic year.According to the exclusion criteria, 56 students were excluded from the study. One hundred sixty-four students who met the inclusion criteria were randomized to the intervention I (n = 82) and control groups (n = 82) by stratified block randomization after the completion of baseline measures. The study was completed with 164 students. The theoretical lecture was carried out by a researcher who was an expert faculty member in Fundamentals of Nursing. All students completed the pretest after attending the theoretical lecture. In the laboratory practice after the theoretical lecture, all students were divided into small groups and practiced parenteral medication administration skills one-to-one under the guidance of the instructor. Students in the intervention group received hard copies of the puzzles at the end of the laboratory practice. All students completed the posttest again at the end of the laboratory practice. Students were supervised during the tests and were not allowed to consult any books, the internet, or any other source of information.

The primary aim of the current study was to investigate the effects of SiFES (superimposed functional electrical stimulation) on sitting balance in patients with complete Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) compared to exercise alone. Additionally, the study aims to investigate improvements in respiratory functions and changes in abdominal muscle thickness measured by ultrasonography (USG) following SiFES treatment. The fundamental questions that investigators want to answer are as follows: - [question 1]: "Does abdominal SiFES therapy improve sitting balance in patients with complete SCI?" - [question 2]: "Does abdominal SiFES therapy improve respiratory functions in patients with complete SCI?"
