A Study to Compare the Efficacy and Safety of Luspatercept (ACE-536) Versus Epoetin Alfa for the Treatment of Anemia Due to IPSS-R Very Low, Low, or Intermediate Risk Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) Participants Who Require Red Blood Cell Transfusions and Are ESA Naïve

COMMANDS
Start date: January 2, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of luspatercept (ACE-536) compared to epoetin alfa on red blood cell (RBC) transfusion independence (for at least 12 weeks) with a concurrent hemoglobin increase of at least 1.5 g/dL in participants with anemia due to revised international prognostic scoring system (IPSS-R) very low, low, or intermediate risk myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) who require RBC transfusions and have never been exposed to erythropoiesis stimulating agent (ESA).

NCT ID: NCT03682068 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Metastatic Urothelial Cancer

Study of Durvalumab Given With Chemotherapy, Durvalumab in Combination With Tremelimumab Given With Chemotherapy, or Chemotherapy in Patients With Unresectable Urothelial Cancer

NILE
Start date: September 27, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomized, open-label, controlled, multi-center, global Phase III study to determine the efficacy and safety of combining durvalumab ± tremelimumab with standard of care (SoC) chemotherapy (cisplatin + gemcitabine or carboplatin + gemcitabine doublet) followed by durvalumab monotherapy versus SoC alone as first-line chemotherapy in patients with histologically or cytologically documented, unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic transitional cell carcinoma of the urothelium (including renal pelvis, ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra).

NCT ID: NCT03675906 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Kidney Failure

The Relationship Between Hypoalbuminemia and Development of Acute Kidney Failure (AKI) According to KDIGO Criteria

Start date: September 12, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study was designed to determine the association between preoperative and postoperative hypoalbuminemia and AKI in older age hip fracture surgeons, to determine which period of hypoalbuminemia contributes more to AKI development, the incidence of AKI according to anesthesia type, the presence of other factors affecting AKI development, the duration of hospitalization and cost- to be investigated.

NCT ID: NCT03675737 Active, not recruiting - Stomach Neoplasms Clinical Trials

Pembrolizumab (MK-3475) Plus Chemotherapy Versus Placebo Plus Chemotherapy in Participants Gastric or Gastroesophageal Junction (GEJ) Adenocarcinoma (MK-3475-859/KEYNOTE-859)

Start date: November 8, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of pembrolizumab (MK-3745) in combination with chemotherapy (Cisplatin combined with 5-Fluorouracil [FP regimen] or oxaliplatin combined with capecitabine [CAPOX regimen]) versus placebo in combination with chemotherapy (FP or CAPOX regimens) in the treatment of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) negative advanced gastric or GEJ adenocarcinoma in adult participants. The primary hypotheses of this study are that pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy is superior to placebo plus chemotherapy in terms of overall survival (OS).

NCT ID: NCT03675425 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Patent Ductus Arteriosus After Premature Birth

The Effects of Phototherapy in Preterm Infants Pda

Start date: July 8, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study was designed to assess whether chest shielding during phototherapy reduces the incidence of PDA, as assessed by serial echocardiographic examinations, in a population of extremely preterm infants born at lower 30 week gestation.

NCT ID: NCT03665142 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Tension-Type Headache

Efficacy of Kinesio Taping in Tension Type Headache

Start date: April 5, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of Kinesio taping on upper trapezius muscle on the reduction of pain and emotional state in the treatment of patients with tension type headache by acting on myofacial mechanoreceptors. Methods: This study was conducted in 71 patients aged 30-45 years with tension type headache diagnosed. Patients were randomly divided into 2 groups. While KT and stretching exercises were performed in the study group, only the stretching exercise was performed for the control group. KT was applied 8 times in total for 4 weeks with 2 sessions per week. Stretching exercise was done in the morning, afternoon and evening 3 times every day for 4 weeks and 5 days of the week. After recording the demographic data of all the patients participating in the study, assessed the sensitivity of the right and left upper parts of the trapezius with algometer, pain intensity with visual analog scale (VAS), Beck depression and anxiety scale for emotional status before and after treatment. p < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.

Start date: September 28, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Open Label Extension Study to evaluate long term safety and persistence of effect of A4250 in children with PFIC.
