There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This research was planned in a Randomized Controlled Experimental Research design with Pre-Test-Post-Test Control Group in order to determine the effect of the stress ball squeezing technique applied to children aged 7-12 during the vascular access procedure on the level of fear and pain in children. The data of the study were obtained from children aged 7-12 who came to the Karaman Training and Research Hospital Pediatrics Service between August 1 and October 31, 2020. The sample size was determined as 116 children in total, 58 children for each group. "Interview and Observation Form, Children's Fear Scale (CFS), Wong-Baker Faces, Stress Ball and Stopwatch" were used for data collection. In order to evaluate whether the research is ethically appropriate, an application was made to the Ethics Committee of Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University School of Health Sciences and the necessary permission was obtained. Written permission was obtained from the Chief Physician of Karaman Training and Research Hospital in order to conduct the study in the Child Health and Diseases Service of Karaman Training and Research Hospital. Statistical analyzes of the study will be done in SPSS 21.0 package program. Number, percentage, mean and standard deviation values will be used from descriptive analyses. In the analysis of differences between groups, independent groups t test, paired t test, Anova, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests will be used. Tukey or Duncon tests will be used for further analysis. The change in the post-procedural pain level of children according to some variables will be evaluated with multiple and simple regression analyses. Significance level will be accepted as p<0.05.
Congenital heart diseases (CHD) are detected in 40-60% of individuals with Down syndrome (DS) and increase the risk of developmental delay in the presence of syndromes. The aim of the study was to compare cardiopulmonary parameters, gross motor development and hand grip strength in DS children with and without CHD. Demographic variables, cardiopulmonary parameters and echocardiographic values were recorded. Gross motor development was evaluated with Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM-88). Hand grip strength was measured with the Baseline Pneumatic Bulb Dynamometer.
Objective: This study was planned to evaluate the effectiveness of individualized nursing care based on the Professional Values Model for parents of pediatric oncology patients. Method: Simple randomization will be used to evaluate the intervention and control groups. The sample of the study will be the parents of children aged 1-18 years (Intervention group: 35 parents, Control group: 35 parents) diagnosed with cancer in the Akdeniz University Hospital Pediatrics, Hematology and Oncology clinic and hospitalized. Portrait Values Questionnaire and PedsQL Health Care Satisfaction Hematology/Oncology Module Parent Form will be used to collect data. A 12-week individualized nursing care based on the Professional Values Model will be applied to 35 parents in the intervention group. The effectiveness of the program will be evaluated after all post-test applications are completed.
The aim of this study is to investigate the frequency of sleep problems in epileptic children and their caregivers.
Psychological support may be needed to help patients in the face of emotional disturbances that may be associated with the outbreak and to help them accomplish their fear and anxiety. Due to the increasing fear of COVID-19 transmission during the pandemic, patients may develop treatment avoidance behavior in dental practices. If the fear and anxiety levels of the patients can be determined, it may be easy to offer special approaches to them.
Purpose of the study Primary treatment of clinical early stage endometrial cancer is total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, and lymph node dissection for staging. It was stated in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guideline that sentinel lymph node biopsy can be performed as an alternative to systematic lymphadenectomy, including high-risk endometrial cancer histologies (2). In a study, the rate of bilateral sentinel lymph node detection in sentinel lymph node mapping using the cervical injection technique of indocyanine green was found to be 73.3%. After re-injection of cervical indocyanine green in patients whose sentinel lymph node could not be detected, the rate of detection of bilateral sentinel lymph nodes increased to 94.5% (4). However, repeated cervical injection causes a waste of time. In our clinic, sentinel lymph node mapping method is applied using indocyanine green for lymph node dissection for staging purposes, since the robotic system has a fluorescent imaging system in patients operated with robotic surgery for endometrial cancer. In accordance with the literature, our bilateral sentinel lymph node detection rate was 75%. During cervical indocyanine green injection in our last 6 patients, the lymphatic channels in the pelvic region were followed simultaneously with the injection and indocyanine injection was performed until the channels were seen transperitoneally. Bilateral lymphatic channels were seen in all of these patients, and sentinel lymph nodes were found bilaterally in all of them. The aim of the planned study is to compare the traditional cervical indocyanine green injection and indocyanine injection until the lymphatic channels are visualized for bilateral detection of sentinel lymph nodes in patients with clinical early stage endometrial cancer. Material-Method The number of patients planned to be included in the study was calculated as 24 patients in both groups, with an alpha error value of 5% and a statistical power above 80% when the bilateral sentinel lymph node detection rate was 75% in the traditional method and 99% in the study group (SPH analytics 2021).
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a disorder characterized by emotional, physical and behavioral symptoms that increase the severity of the menstrual cycle in women of reproductive age during the luteal phase and disappear spontaneously a few days after the onset of menstruation. Nonpharmacological applications are often preferred to reduce premenstrual symptoms. It has been stated that with the meditation practices of mindfulness, individuals experience less anxiety, depression, anger and lower levels of psychological distress, including anxiety. . It is thought that the mindfulness stress reduction program can reduce the symptoms of PMS by regulating the stress level and emotional balance of women.
Today, the increase in the costs of applications in the health care system makes it difficult for easy and inexpensive methods to be used based on evidence. In this study, the episiotomy rate, episiotomy length, perineal pain at birth and postpartum period, perineal trauma, newborn 1st min. and 5 min. It was planned as a Randomized Controlled Experimental study to examine the effect of APGAR score on birth outcomes such as the duration of the first and second stages of labor and birth satisfaction. The universe of the research was carried out between December 2021-2022 in University Hospital and City Hospital Pregnant women at 38-42 weeks of gestation who are admitted to the maternity ward to give birth. Power analysis was performed using the GPower program in order to sample size. In determining the sample size, the article titled "The Effect of Perineal Massage During Labor in Nulliparous Women on Birth Comfort, Perineal Pain and Trauma" (Yaşar, 2019) was used. Considering the total mean scores of the GCS scale in intervention and control groups, Type 1 error amount was 0.01, test power was 0.99, and effect size was 1.1276841; The minimum required sample size was determined as 80 (40 interventions + 40 control groups) for the intervention and control groups. In line with these data, it was decided that the sample size would be 120 pregnant women who agreed to be in the study and met the inclusion criteria, 40 in the intervention-1 group to be given instrumental perineal massage, 40 in the intervention-2 group that would receive non-instrumental perineal massage, and 40 in the control group. Frequency and mean values will be used in the evaluation of descriptive data, and independent sample t-test, chi-square test, fisher chi-square test and ANOVA will be used in the analysis of data showing normal distribution. The Mann Whitney U test is planned to be used in the analysis of data that do not show normal distribution. Normal distribution in the analysis of the relationship between prenatal instrument perineal massage and GCS scores, quality of pain, length of episiotomy, condition of the perineal region, duration of the first and second stages of labor, total delivery time, APGAR 1st and 5th minute scores, and parameters related to postpartum satisfaction Pearson correlation test will be used. All the results will be evaluated at the 95% confidence interval, at the 0.05 significance level.
The aim of this study is to determine the knowledge, perceptions and perspectives of students about physiotherapy and rehabilitation profession, who are studying in different departments, especially in the health sector in Turkey.
