Researchers studied the attitude towards patients with chronic pain, it is a very important issue for the literature. The prevalence of chronic pain is very high in the world, however, patients with chronic pain state at every opportunity that patients are not sufficiently understood and stigmatized by healthcare professionals. In this article, researchers studied the validity and reliability of the scale of the attitude of healthcare professionals towards their patients with chronic pain in students studying in the field of health (medicine, physical therapy and rehabilitation, nursing). Researchers found that the Healthcare Professionals' Attitudes towards Patients with Chronic Pain Scale was valid and reliable in healthcare students. Thanks to this scale, students' attitudes towards patients with chronic pain will be measured, and an idea will be gained about the student's deficiency.

Radioembolization is an established treatment option for patients with unresectable primary and secondary liver tumors. Microspheres containing 90Y are injected intraarterially to deliver a high radiation dose to the tumors. Despite of our knowledge on the effectiveness of 90Y glass microspheres in the treatment of HCC, literature data on the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) patients with 90Y glass microspheres is limited. In the recent EANM guideline variable healthy liver doses are recommended for patients with mCRC with an effective tumor dose recommendation based on a study with limited number of patients. Primary objectives; Investigate effective tumor dose and safe healthy liver dose in radioembolization for colorectal cancer liver metastasis using multicompartment dosimetry Secondary objectives; Investigate dose-response and dose-toxicity relationships, time to progress, concordance between pretreatment and posttreatment dose calculations.

Investigation of the Effect of Nigella Sativa Oil and Sesame Oil in Preventing Phlebitis

Phlebitis is an inflammatory reaction of the venous system and surrounding tissues that may be associated with mechanical, chemical or infectious microorganisms; It is the most common complication of intravenous injection. Symptoms of phlebitis; local pain, swelling, warmth, erythema, tenderness; prominent redness and palpable firmness and purulent discharge along the vascular access. Phlebitis is the most important peripheral intravenous catheter-related complication and is seen in 0.1%- 63.3% of patients with peripheral intravenous catheters. Intravenous amiodarone is an important treatment for arrhythmias. However, peripheral infusion causes direct irritation of the vessel walls. Intravenous amiodarone is one of the most widely used antiarrhythmics for the treatment of atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response. However, peripheral infusion of amiodarone usually causes pain during the infusion followed by phlebitis. Peripheral intravenous infusion of amiodarone associated with phlebitis is common in clinical practice, with an incidence of 5% to 65%. Herbal treatment is a popular method in recent years In recent studies to prevent phlebitis, it has been determined that topical application of sesame oil and black cumin oil is effective in preventing phlebitis. Sesame oil has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and contains several lignans such as sesamin and sesaminol that inhibit inflammation, including interleukin 8 and endothelin 1. The therapeutic properties of black seed oil are due to the presence of phenolic compounds, especially thymoquinone. The anti-inflammatory mechanism of action of black seed oil occurs by inhibiting cyclo-oxygenase and 5-lipoxygenase pathways and preventing the production of thromboxane B2 and leukotriene B4. There is no study in the literature comparing the effects of sesame oil and black cumin oil to prevent phlebitis.

The Effect of Chewing Gum on Nausea, Vomiting and Bowel Function After Colorectal Surgery

False feeding refers to promoting gastrointestinal peristalsis by seeing, smelling, chewing, and tasting food, not getting food into the gastrointestinal tract. Postoperative sham feeding uses gum to promote the healing of gastrointestinal peristalsis. Although not fully understood, the physiological theory underlying gum chewing (fake feeding) to stimulate peristalsis and reduce postoperative intestinal recovery time is that the oral and chewing stimulation provided by chewing gum stimulates a neurohumoral reflex that increases gastrointestinal fluid secretion. This increases gastrointestinal motility. In addition, oral stimulation and chewing can stimulate the vagus nerve, which is also involved in promoting peristalsis. Finally, none of the existing theories adequately explain the effect of chewing/gum chewing on reducing postoperative inflammation in the gut, which may result in a reduced incidence of postoperative infection. In previous studies, physiological changes associated with gum appear to promote normal gastrointestinal function and subsequent postoperative/anesthetic recovery. Although many studies have been conducted to examine the effectiveness of chewing gum in patients undergoing colorectal resection, the results have been inconsistent. This can be attributed to differences in intestinal injuries affecting bowel function, differences in time under anesthesia and differences in anesthetics or pain control agents used for pain control affecting bowel function, and recovery time of peristalsis. Given the many factors known to affect postoperative ileus, chewing gum as an intervention remains a safe, accessible, and inexpensive option that remains to be explored.
