Communication between nurse and patient is considered essential to provide holistic and humane care as it allows patients to be fully understood, assisted, and their needs defined as empathetic. Travelbee, states that nursing is conducted through human-to-human relationships. These relationships begin first with the encounter of the nurse and the patient, then with the stage of emergence of identities where the relationship begins, the stage in which the nurse and the patient perceive each other's uniqueness, the empathy stage in which the person shares their experiences, the sympathy stage in which the nurse wants to reduce the cause of the patient's pain, and the final stage is the nurse and the patient's interrelated thoughts and feelings, their interest and concern towards others, a non-judgmental attitude and a person specific to each individual it consists of the stage of harmony that he approaches with respect. During this biological process, many physiological and psychological changes can be expected in pregnant women. Many psychological and social factors influence the fear of childbirth. These factors include; Lack of self-confidence in childbirth, being affected by negative birth histories, history of depression, anxiety, partner dissatisfaction, young maternal age, low income level, low education and low perception of social support, pain in childbirth or fear of losing control, and physical injury during childbirth. It is also possible that the fear of childbirth and the appearance of symptoms of stress and anxiety, which complicates pregnancy. Mother-infant bonding, which is adversely affected by mental problems such as anxiety, depression and fear of childbirth during pregnancy, can adversely affect the attachment process in both prenatal period. There are some non-pharmaceutical applications to strengthen the mental health of the mother, to reduce stress and fear of childbirth, and to strengthen the mother-baby bond. These are practices that include listening to music, psychoeducation, cognitive and behavioral therapies. With professional support in this study, childbirth will take place in a completely safe environment where stress and fear of childbirth are less. Nurses need to communicate from person to person in order to achieve the goal of effective care and to be healing. The training program was created based on Travelbee's five-step human-to-human relationship model with pregnant women who fear childbirth.

The development of postoperative urinary retention (PUR) is a significant complication in patients undergoing treatment due to orthopedic surgery. In particular, it is reported that the incidence rate of PUR after spinal anesthesia is in the range of 6-60%. It is stated in the literature that PUR can be prevented by reviewing factors such as bladder physical examination, fluid intake status, anesthesia type, bladder discharge time/condition of patients undergoing orthopedic surgery. For this purpose, our study showed that these patients had globular physical examination screening and postoperative 2-6. it aims to prevent postoperative urinary retention by applying hot and cold Decontamination to the bladders of patients who cannot urinate spontaneously between hours.

Neutrophils are indispensable for host defense and have an important roles in modulating the immune system in both the innate and adaptive immune response. Neutrophils operate using a number of different mechanisms including chemotaxis, phagocytosis, release of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and granular proteins, and the production and liberation of cytokines for this purpose. A controlled neutrophil response is required to combat infection; an dysregulated state of this response can cause sepsis, tissue damage, and organ failure. Sepsis and septic shock are the leading causes of death especially in intensive care units (ICU), and their mortality can be reduced with prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatment modality. From this point of view, many biomarkers have been evaluated for the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment response of infection and sepsis. An objective marker of cellular dysfunction of neutrophils would be a helpful tool for the clinician in detecting and monitoring changes related to infection status and to determine development of sepsis and positive effects of interventions.

Repeated Sprint Training in Normobaric Hypoxia

The aim of the current study was to examine the effects of 3-session repeated sprint training performed in a normobaric hypoxic condition with 48-hour rest intervals on sprint performance indices, arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2) and rating of perceived exertion (RPE) scores. Twenty-four moderately-trained males participated in this study voluntarily basis. This study was conducted on single-blind placebo-controlled design. Participants were divided into three groups as follows; normobaric hypoxia (3420 m; HYP), normobaric normoxia (162 m; PLA) and control group (CON). HYP and PLA groups subjected to 3 repeated sprint training session (4 set x 5 x 5 s sprints with 30 s recovery and 5 min rest between the sets) in normobaric hypoxia or normoxia condition. Pre- and pos-test were conducted 72 hours before and after the training intervention period. All the training and testing sessions performed in cycle ergometer. There were no detected significant time and condition interaction in the variables; relative peak power output (PPO), mean power output (MPO), percentage of sprint decrement score (Sdec%) and RPE observed in the scope of pre- and post-test.

Sexual Education in Women Based On The Plissit Model On Awareness And Attitude in Midwifery Students

In this study, it was aimed to determine the awareness levels and attitudes of the students with the sexual counseling training conducted in line with the PLISSIT model. This experimental (randomized-controlled) study was conducted with midwifery students who agreed to participate in the study and met the inclusion criteria at a state university in western Turkey. As a result of the randomization, there were 38 students in the intervention group and 36 students in the control group. While training based on the PLISSIT framework was given to the intervention group, no training was given to the control group. Data were collected through the Introductory Information Form, the Gynecological Cancer Awareness Scale (GCPS), and the Sexual Attitudes and Beliefs Scale (CTİÖ) before the training and after the completion of the 3 trainings.
