Sacrocolpopexy remains the preeminent modality in addressing apical prolapse surgically. Nevertheless, amplified morbidity rates within cohorts characterized by obesity and advanced age constrain the advantages conferred by the procedure. Recent years have witnessed a proliferation of inquiries appraising the efficacy of laparoscopic lateral suspension, pectopexy, and sacrospinous ligament fixation interventions, which have, over time, garnered extensive clinical application, in relation to recurrence rates. A multitude of investigations have been undertaken to delineate the optimal vaginal axis. In the present investigation, we have delineated a research protocol aimed at scrutinizing these alternative surgical modalities with regard to their impact on the vaginal axis.

The Effect of Handgrip Strength on Functional Level

In this study, it was aimed to examine the effects of kinesio tape applied to the forearm extensor muscles on the functional level of patients undergoing lower extremity surgery with walker ambulation. Patients who were evaluated before being included in the post-surgical rehabilitation program (before kinesio tape application) and before discharge will be included in the study group. For the control group data, patients who underwent lower extremity surgery at the same institution for similar periods, but were included in the standard rehabilitation program, but did not apply kinesio tape, will be included. Standard rehabilitation practice includes in-bed transfer training, gait training, practice of daily living activities, and therapeutic exercise practices . Before the standard rehabilitation program, kinesio taping was applied to both upper extremities in the form of a "Y" tape from the medial epicondyle to the wrist flexors, with 15-20% tension, to the patients hospitalized in the orthopedic service after lower extremity surgery. The tape should remain on the patient's arm throughout the hospital stay

Cerebral Palsy is an umbrella definition that refers to a disorder that occurs after a problem affecting a person's brain functions and has symptoms such as sensory, motor and mental deficits. Cerebral Palsy can cause serious functional losses in individuals. Various rehabilitation approaches have been developed and used to eliminate these functional losses. One of these approaches is a therapy technique called Task-oriented therapy, which focuses on completing tasks that mostly involve functional activities that the participating individuals do actively and repeatedly. There are various ways to perform task-oriented therapy. These can be achieved by motivating the individual to perform various tasks (cutting with scissors, buttoning, putting on and taking off legos, etc.) in an active, intense and repetitive manner, as well as through games played on devices such as tablet computers that have emerged with the developing technology. Thanks to their Android and touch features, such devices can motivate people to use their upper extremities functionally. Thanks to such applications, rehabilitation practices can be made more fun and effective results can be obtained. In the literature, it was seen that video game-based rehabilitation practices were used in individuals with cerebral palsy, but their effects on balance were mostly evaluated. Its effect on upper extremity functional capacity was mostly limited to feasibility studies. For these reasons, there is no data in the literature on this subject with quality results. The main purpose of this study is to determine whether upper extremity functional capacity can be improved by using the Tablet PC-based Fruit ninja game, which is easily accessible today, in the rehabilitation of individuals with cerebral palsy, using objective measurement tools.

Development of a 3D Spacer Mattress for Pressure Relieving in Cardiac Surgery and Evaluation of Its Efficacy

In this study, researchers developed a mattress made of 3D spacer fabric to relieve pressure during cardiovascular surgery. Following the development process, an initial assessment of the mattress's effectiveness was carried out on healthy volunteers. The same people lay first on the developed product and then on the surgical mattress in the supine position. In both cases, the pressure between the person and the mattress was measured using a force-sensitive resistor (using Interlink's FRS-406 series sensors). Thirty patients were included in the initial evaluation. A randomised controlled trial was then carried out with patients undergoing surgery (patients were divided into two groups; (a) mattress developed by the researchers and (b) standard operating theatre mattress). Sixty patients were divided into two groups using block randomisation. In the block randomisation, patients below or above body mass index 27 were equally distributed between the groups. Pressure levels were measured continuously during surgery using the same sensors.

The purpose of this prospective, cross-sectional study was to evaluate the selective activation of the infraspinatus during external rotation exercises in participants with rounded shoulder postures and compare the different exercise positions. The fifteen (7 males and 8 females) participants with rounded shoulder posture were recruited for this study. The EMG activations of the middle trapezius, posterior deltoid and infraspinatus muscles in the dominant limb were recorded during exercises in standing external rotation (SER), side-lying position (SDER), scapular plane (SPER) and muscle architecture-based (MABER) positions.

The Effects of Myofascial Release Technique

This study was planned to investigate the long-term effects of myofascial release technique on proprioception, pain severity, shoulder range of motion, functional level, flexibility, and muscle strength in patients with rotator cuff injury. The study included 29 individuals with partial rotator cuff injury who were randomly divided into two groups. The control group received a classical physiotherapy program including transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, hot pack and exercise, while the treatment group received the same classic physiotherapy program along with the myofascial release technique. All treatments were planned for 4 weeks and a total of 10 sessions. Proprioception, pain severity, shoulder range of motion, functional level, flexibility and muscle strength were assessed before and after the treatment.
