Tumor Ablation With Talaporfin Sodium and Interstitial Light Emitting Diodes Treating Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

Start date: April 2005
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the Litx™ treatment is safe and effective in treating inoperable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Litx™ is an integrated treatment system comprising an intravenously administered photosensitizing agent, Talaporfin Sodium (LS11), that is activated by non-coherent light generated inside the tumor by an implanted light emitting diode (LED) array light source.

Start date: January 2001
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare long-term safety and tolerability of stavudine (d4T) extended release (ER) versus conventional (immediate release [IR]) formulations, each in combination with lamivudine (3TC) and efavirenz (EFV) in subjects who have completed Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) studies AI455-096 and AI455-099.

NCT ID: NCT00115245 Completed - Chronic Hepatitis B Clinical Trials

Telbivudine Versus Adefovir Dipivoxil in Adults With HBegAg-Positive, Compensated Chronic Hepatitis B

Start date: November 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This research study is being conducted to compare the safety and effectiveness of the investigational medication, LdT (telbivudine) versus adefovir dipivoxil, a drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of hepatitis B infection. The results for patients taking LdT will be compared to results for patients taking adefovir dipivoxil.

NCT ID: NCT00113607 Completed - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

An Efficacy and Safety Study for Yondelis (Trabectedin) in Patients With Advanced Relapsed Ovarian Cancer

Start date: April 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to compare the progression-free survival (PFS) of the combination of trabectedin + DOXIL with DOXIL monotherapy in patients with ovarian cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00109707 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia

A Study of Oral AMN107 in Adults With Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) or Other Hematologic Malignancies

Start date: April 2005
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this trial is to assess the efficacy, safety, tolerability, biologic activity, and pharmacokinetics of AMN107 in six groups of patients with one of the following conditions: Relapsed/refractory Ph+ Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) (arm 1) Group A - Imatinib failure only (arms 2, 3 and 4) - imatinib-resistant or intolerant CML - Chronic Phase (CP) - imatinib-resistant or intolerant CML - Accelerated Phase (AP) - imatinib-resistant or intolerant CML - Blast Crisis (BC) Group B - Imatinib and other TKI failure (arms 2, 3 and 4) - imatinib-resistant or intolerant CML - Chronic Phase (CP) - imatinib-resistant or intolerant CML - Accelerated Phase (AP) - imatinib-resistant or intolerant CML - Blast Crisis (BC) Hypereosinophilic syndrome/chronic eosinophilic leukemia (HES/CEL) (arm 5) Systemic mastocytosis (Sm) (arm 6)

NCT ID: NCT00106548 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

A Study to Assess the Effect of Tocilizumab + Methotrexate on Signs and Symptoms in Patients With Moderate to Severe Active Rheumatoid Arthritis

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This 3 arm study will compare the safety and efficacy, with regard to reduction of signs and symptoms, of tocilizumab versus placebo, both in combination with methotrexate (MTX). in patients with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who currently have an inadequate response to MTX. Patients wil be randomized to receive tocilizumab 4mg/kg iv, tocilizumab 8mg/mg iv, or placebo iv, every 4 weeks; all patients will also receive methotrexate 10-25mg weekly. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00104403 Completed - Clinical trials for Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting

Study Of Prevention of Chemo-Induced Nausea and Vomiting Caused By Moderately Emetogenic Chemotherapy

Start date: December 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study was designed to assess the safety and efficacy of different dosages and administration schedules of an investigational agent administered over 3 days when added to standard therapy used in the prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in cancer patients. Subjects will be asked to complete daily diaries while on study medication. In addition subjects will be required to return to the investigational site several times during the course of the study for follow up safety assessments which may include blood samples for hematology and chemistry evaluations as well as physical exams. A final assessment will be preformed on study Day 20-30 at which time the subject will complete the study.
