The European NAFLD Registry is a prospectively recruited, observational study supporting the study of the clinical phenotype, natural history, disease outcomes and pathophysiology of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis. The ultimate goals are to better understand the drivers of interpatient variation in disease pathophysiology and severity and to utilise this information to develop and validate biomarkers that, singly or in combination, enable detection and monitoring of disease progression and/or from NAFL through NASH to fibrosis and cirrhosis.

Short Structured Psychological Intervention for Adults With ADHD - a Randomized Controlled Trial

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of a novel psychological intervention for adult ADHD through a randomized controlled trial. Participants will be randomized to receive either a face-to-face manualized short psychological intervention, SAINT, or corresponding self-help material with limited access to therapist support. The main objective is to evaluate whether SAINT will show better outcomes on measures of ADHD-related symptoms, everyday function, and quality-of-life measures, when compared to the self-help material, and if any possible differences in outcomes are related to better treatment adherence in SAINT.

Pictorial Support in Person-centred Care for Children (PicPecc)

Introduction: Person-centred care is based on the assumption that every person has resources that should be used in the care situation. In order for this to happen the patient has to be able to effectively communicate his/her symptoms. This protocol describes the analysis of a digital picture-based tool for communication support for children with cancer aged 5-17 years, who undergo high-dose methotrexate treatment. The advantage of a non-linguistic based platform, beside the expected clinical outcomes, is that it can be used in multiple national studies with minimal translation. Methods and analysis: Two studies will be conducted in a hybrid design, i.e., a crossover design will be used for the intervention (effects), and a mixed-methods design will be used for the process evaluation. Qualitative interviews will be carried out with children with cancer, their legal guardians and case-related healthcare professionals as part of the process evaluation. The interviews will address the experiences of the intervention and frequency of use from the child's perspective. Interview transcripts will be analyzed qualitative descriptively. The digital communication tool will collect child self-reports of symptoms/emotions. The children will be monitored for biomarkers of stress and pain (neuropeptides, neurosteroids and peripheral steroids) in venous blood samples, in-app estimation levels for the children, drug consumption. Person-centeredness will be evaluated with the questionnaire Visual CARE Measure. Ethics: Ethical approval was obtained from the Swedish Ethical Review Authority (ref 2019-02392; 2020-02601).

This multicenter open-label randomized controlled trial is set up to evaluate the effect of fetoscopic laser surgery on the gestational age at birth for monochorionic twin pregnancies diagnosed with twin anemia-polycythemia sequence. Half op the patients will be treated with fetoscopic laser surgery, while the other half will be managed with standard treatment. The hypothesis is that fetoscopic laser therapy will improve neonatal outcome by prolonging pregnancy.

Integrating Health Promotion With and for Older People - eHealth

The Integrating Health promotion with and for Older People eHealth (IHOPe) project is expected to contribute vital knowledge on how older peoples capabilities and societal resources can be used in a more efficient way to promote health, self-management and enhance teamwork in partnership.The aim is to describe and evaluate this person-centered e-support intervention that promotes a sustainable partnership between community-dwelling frail older people and health and social care professionals. A digital platform, co-created with users and designed to create inclusion of individuals who today are living in a digital alienation, will be used in the health planning. In IHOPe frail older people will be able to identify their potential health issues but also their resources together with team partners from health- and social care, family or societal representatives. The intervention consists of person-centered phone calls with a health care professional as well as access to a digital platform that is accessible to the old person and invited team-partners. The project includes a randomized controlled trial, a process evaluation and a health economic evaluation. People 75 years or older screened as frail will be included. Also, in the process evaluation team-partners using the digital platform will be included. Specifically, this project is expected to reduce hospitalizations, result in improved or retained self-efficacy whilst being cost effective. Additionally, the project is expected to enhance frail older peoples opportunities to participate as an equal partner in their contacts with health and social services.

The study is designed as a randomized, controlled, multi-center open-label trial to compare standard-of-care (SOC) treatment with SOC + anakinra or SOC + tocilizumab treatment in hospitalized adult subjects who are diagnosed with severe COVID 19. Arm A: Standard-of-care Treatment (SOC) Arm B: Anakinra + SOC Arm C: Tocilizumab + SOC. All subjects will be treated with standard-of-care treatment. Arms B and C will also receive broad spectrum antibiotics initiated before or latest 24 hours after initiation of treatment with study drug. The primary follow-up period of the study is 29 days.

Locally Advanced Colorectal Cancer and Local Recurrences in Västra Götaland

The aim of this study is to review the treatment strategies of locally advanced colorectal cancer and locally recurrent rectal cancer in Västra Götaland during 1995-2016. The aim is to evaluate time trends and outcome both related to morbidity and cancer specific survival, we will also evaluate the results after advanced reconstruction. The study will identify the population using the Swedish ColoRectal Cancer Registry and then the individual patient charts will be reviewed. The data will be collected in a clinical record form covering demography (age, sex, co-morbidity, BMI and diagnoses) as well as treatments strategy, surgical procedures, re-operations, complications, readmissions, hospital stay, stoma formation etc.
