NCT ID: NCT00003804 Active, not recruiting - Kidney Cancer Clinical Trials

Chemotherapy Plus Surgery in Treating Children at Risk of or With Stage I Wilms' Tumor

Start date: July 1993
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known which regimen of chemotherapy is more effective for stage I Wilms' tumor. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to study the effectiveness of chemotherapy and surgery in treating children who are at risk of or who have stage I Wilms' tumor.

NCT ID: NCT00003758 Active, not recruiting - Leukemia Clinical Trials

Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Relapsed Acute Myelogenous Leukemia

Start date: December 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy consisting of cytarabine plus idarubicin in treating patients who have relapsed acute myelogenous leukemia.

NCT ID: NCT00003728 Active, not recruiting - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Combination Chemotherapy Plus Steroid Therapy in Treating Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia or Lymphoblastic Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Start date: December 1998
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known which regimen of combination chemotherapy plus steroid therapy is more effective for acute lymphoblastic leukemia or lymphoblastic non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of different regimens of combination chemotherapy plus steroid therapy in treating children who have acute lymphoblastic leukemia or lymphoblastic non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

NCT ID: NCT00003681 Active, not recruiting - Anemia Clinical Trials

Amifostine With or Without Epoetin Alfa in Treating Patients With Myelodysplastic Syndrome

Start date: August 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Amifostine may improve blood counts in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome. Epoetin alfa may stimulate red blood cell production and be an effective treatment for anemia in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of amifostine with or without epoetin alfa in treating patients who have myelodysplastic syndrome.

NCT ID: NCT00002851 Active, not recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Lymph Node Radiation Therapy in Patients With Stage I, Stage II, or Stage III Breast Cancer That Has Been Surgically Removed

Start date: July 1996
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Radiation therapy may kill any tumor cells remaining after surgery. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying radiation therapy to see how well it works compared to no further therapy in treating women with stage I, stage II, or stage III breast cancer that has been surgically removed.

NCT ID: NCT00002763 Active, not recruiting - Melanoma (Skin) Clinical Trials

High-Dose or Low-Dose Interferon Alfa Compared With No Further Therapy Following Surgery in Treating Patients With Stage III Melanoma

Start date: April 1996
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Interferon alfa may interfere with the growth of cancer cells. It is not known whether giving high-dose or low-dose interferon alfa is more effective than no further therapy in treating patients with stage III melanoma. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of high- or low-dose interferon alfa with that of no further therapy following surgery in treating patients who have stage III melanoma.

NCT ID: NCT00002549 Active, not recruiting - Leukemia Clinical Trials

Combination Chemotherapy Followed by Bone Marrow or Peripheral Stem Cell Transplantation in Treating Patients With Acute Myelogenous Leukemia

Start date: November 1993
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with peripheral stem cell or bone marrow transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy followed by bone marrow or peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients with acute myelogenous leukemia.

NCT ID: NCT00002462 Active, not recruiting - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

RT or No RT Following Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Stage III/IV Hodgkin's Disease

Start date: September 1989
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining radiation therapy with combination chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of radiation therapy with no radiation therapy following chemotherapy in treating patients with stage III or stage IV Hodgkin's disease.
