There are about 2656 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Puerto Rico. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The primary purpose of the HCV-TARGET study is to establish a nationwide registry of patients undergoing treatment with antiviral therapies for chronic hepatitis C (HCV) at both academic and community practices.
The purpose of this study is to see whether teriparatide, given for 6 months versus placebo, will improve the healing of hip (femoral neck) fractures that are repaired during surgery using certain types of orthopedic screws. The study will enroll men and postmenopausal women at least 50 years of age with a recent hip (femoral neck) fracture caused by low-trauma (for example, fall from standing height or less).
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate therapeutic equivalence of IV Epoetin Hospira compared to IV Epogen (Amgen), based on maintenance of Hb levels and study drug dose requirements in patients treated for anemia associated with chronic renal failure and on hemodialysis.
The purpose of this study was to determine the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and anti-viral activity of JTK-853 in hepatitis C virus genotype 1 infected subjects based on reduction in viral load (HCV RNA level) from baseline to end of treatment, followed by genotypic resistance monitoring for up to one year after study drug treatment.
The purpose of this open label study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of daclatasvir plus pegylated interferon-alfa 2a and ribavirin in untreated hepatitis C virus in patients coinfected with HIV
The purpose of this study is: - To compare blood glucose (blood sugar) control on LY2605541 with insulin glargine after 26 weeks of treatment. - To compare the rate of night time hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) on LY2605541 with insulin glargine during 26 weeks of treatment. - To compare the number of participants on LY2605541 reaching blood glucose targets without hypoglycemia episodes at night to those taking insulin glargine after 26 weeks of treatment. - To compare the rate of hypoglycemia over a 24-hour period on LY2605541 with insulin glargine during 26 weeks of treatment.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of TMC435 plus PSI-7977 (GS7977) with or without ribavirin in patients who are chronically infected with genotype 1 hepatitis C virus (HCV) and who did not respond to prior peginterferon/ribavirin therapy or are HCV treatment-naive (patients who never received treatment for HCV infection).
This study is being done to see whether rifaximin, an antibiotic that works in the intestines, can lower the amount of germs in the intestines of HIV infected persons. It is possible that when the amount of these germs is lowered, an HIV-infected person's immune system will become less active and will have a better chance of recovering. Also, the study will evaluate the safety of using rifaximin in HIV-infected subjects.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether BMS-936557 is effective for the treatment of moderate to severely active Crohn's Disease in patients who have had insufficient response and/or intolerance to conventional therapy for Crohn's Disease.
This is a study of combination direct-acting antiviral agents (DAA) with or without ribavirin (RBV) in patients with chronic Hepatitis C Virus (HCV).
