The current study is designed to measure the role of cognitive behavior therapy with PTSD patients. There are following objectives of this current study, such as 1. To examine the efficacy of CBT to overcome the severity level of PTSD and associated psychiatric problems. 2. To change negative thought patterns and dysfunctional cognition into functional thoughts and beliefs. 3. To build up social support, enhance the quality of life and refine mental health among patients with PTSD. 4. To check outs the association of PTSD with depression, intimate partner violence stigma, marital adjustment, and abuse. 5. This study would examine the efficacy of CBT to treat the severity of PTSD and associated problems (i.e. depressive symptoms, adjustment problems & discrimination) among women victims of domestic violence in shelter homes

Assessment of Antioxidant Therapy on Oxidative Stress Biomarkers in Type 2 Diabetic Patients With Neuropathy

Type 2 DM subjects having numbness, tingling and paresthesia in hands and feet (neuropathy) will be recruited. Screening of neuropathy will be done by Michigan screening instrument. This will be followed by nerve conduction studies. Specific blood parameters will also be checked. The subjects will then be divided into four treatment arms. Three groups will receive single drug and the fourth one will receive all the three drugs. These will be given for four months. Follow up will be done every month. At the end of four months, they will be assessed for any improvement in neuropathy by using Michigan neuropathy instrument and nerve conduction studies. Blood parameters will also be measured again.

The SMK project's primary goal is to improve the status of SRH of women and adolescents within those targeted areas which feature inadequate progress on existing SRH indicators. The focus remains on empowering increasingly marginalized and vulnerable populations to exercise their reproductive rights, free of coercion, discrimination and violence. This will be achieved through the implementation of evidence-based and socio-culturally sensitive FP/ SRH interventions within ten districts of Pakistan. The aim of this project is therefore to evaluate the impact of a package of community and facility-based interventions on improving the SRH/ FP of the targeted population. In order to achieves this, a quasi-experimental pre & post evaluation intervention study with a formative phase, baseline assessment, intervention phase and finally an end-line assessment, consisting of both qualitative & quantitative monitoring & evaluation tools will be applied at the household, community, healthcare facility and district levels in all project areas. Furthermore, descriptive statistics will be tabulated on key indicators and stratified on selected variables. Means for continuous variables and proportion for categorical variables will be calculated at a 95% confidence interval within this study

Role of N-Acetylcysteine for Prevention of Cisplatin-induced Nephrotoxicity

Cisplatin is one of the first-line drugs used against many malignancies, such as lung cancer, head and neck cancer, esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, urothelial cancer, bladder cancer and testicular cancer. The usage of Cisplatin is limited by its severe nephrotoxicity, which particularly affects the proximal tubule epithelial cells (PTEC).Several studies suggest role of NAC in ameliorating Cisplatin induced nephrotoxicity, although definitive data is lacking. N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) is a thiol-containing antioxidant, which not only acts as a precursor of glutathione but also as a direct antioxidant .There are multiple postulated mechanisms for NAC's nephroprotection. NAC is a low-cost, easily available drug with a very good safety profile and therefore can be added as a support medication during treatment with cisplatin. The investigators plan to administer 1200 mg oral NAC 12 hours before chemotherapy and then daily at night for the subsequent 6 days, with an objective to ascertain its nephroprotective role in population receiving Cisplatin/-based chemotherapy.
