The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether oral finerenone (study drug), in addition to standard daily therapy, is effective and safe in treating patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and diabetic kidney disease, when compared to a placebo.
The primary objective of this study was to demonstrate whether, in addition to standard of care, finerenone is superior to placebo in delaying the progression of kidney disease, as measured by the composite endpoint of time to first occurrence of kidney failure, a sustained decrease of estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) ≥40% from baseline over at least 4 weeks, or renal death.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of omadacycline as compared to moxifloxacin in the treatment of adults with community-acquired bacterial pneumonia.
The purpose of this study is to compare the long-term joint safety and efficacy (pain relief) of the investigational study drug, tanezumab compared to non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in subjects with osteoarthritis of the hips or knees.
The main objectives of this feasibility study were: - To demonstrate the feasibility of HARMONI Modular Intraocular Lens (HMIOL) implantation and assembly in subjects undergoing cataract surgery (All HMIOL Cohort), and - To demonstrate the feasibility of the HMIOL optic component exchange procedure (performed 3 months following primary cataract extraction) (Cohort 2).
This study will investigate whether switching symptomatic COPD patients from a fixed-dose combination of salmeterol/fluticasone 50/500 µg b.i.d. to a fixed dose combination of QVA149 110/50 µg o.d. leads to improved lung function and airflow. It will also assess the effect on symptom burden, breathlessness, and use of rescue medication after this switch.
This study will evaluate the intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering effect and safety of bimatoprost SR compared with selective laser trabeculoplasty in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who are not adequately managed with topical IOP-lowering medication for reasons other than medication efficacy (e.g., due to intolerance or nonadherence).
This is a prospective, multi-national, multicenter, randomized, two arms, single blind, Standard of Care (SOC) controlled, with blinded central reading center study. This study will assess the safety and performance of BonyPid-1000™ in severe open tibial fractures (Gustilo IIIA and IIIB) when implanted as adjunct to SOC and compared to SOC alone.
The purpose of this trial is to assess the efficacy, safety and tolerability of lacosamide administered as add-on therapy with 1 to 3 anti-seizure medications. This trial is for children aged 1 month to less than 4 years with epilepsy who currently have uncontrolled partial-onset seizures.
