NCT ID: NCT00003573 Completed - Brain Tumors Clinical Trials

Etoposide Plus Radiation Therapy Followed by Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Children With Newly Diagnosed Advanced Medulloblastoma

Start date: November 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining radiation therapy with chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of etoposide plus radiation therapy followed by combination chemotherapy in treating children with newly diagnosed advanced medulloblastoma.

NCT ID: NCT00003304 Completed - Clinical trials for Brain and Central Nervous System Tumors

Temozolomide in Treating Patients With Recurrent Oligodendroglial Tumors

Start date: April 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of temozolomide in treating patients with recurrent oligodendroglial tumors following combination chemotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT00003279 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Vaccination Therapy in Treating Patients With Limited-Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer

SILVA
Start date: March 1998
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Vaccines may help the body build an immune response to kill tumor cells. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of vaccination with monoclonal antibody BEC2 and BCG with that of no further therapy in treating patients who have limited-stage small cell lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00003267 Completed - Cervical Cancer Clinical Trials

Pelvic Drains After Radical Hysterectomy in Treating Patients With Uterine, Cervical, or Vaginal Cancer

Start date: February 1998
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: The use of pelvic drains may help to prevent complications following radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy. It is not known whether receiving pelvic drains during surgery is more effective than receiving no pelvic drains during surgery in patients with uterine, cervical, or vaginal cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to determine if the use of pelvic drains following radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy is effective in treating patients with uterine, cervical, or vaginal cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00003234 Completed - Sarcoma Clinical Trials

Vinorelbine in Treating Children With Recurrent or Refractory Cancers

Start date: May 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of vinorelbine in treating children with recurrent or refractory cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00003212 Completed - Sarcoma Clinical Trials

Ifosfamide or Doxorubicin in Treating Patients With Advanced or Metastatic Soft Tissue Sarcoma

Start date: January 1998
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known whether ifosfamide or doxorubicin is more effective for advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of ifosfamide with that of doxorubicin in treating patients who have advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma.

NCT ID: NCT00003178 Completed - Leukemia Clinical Trials

Chemotherapy in Treating Children With Recurrent Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Start date: March 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of idarubicin and cladribine in treating children who have recurrent acute myeloid leukemia.

NCT ID: NCT00003175 Completed - Bladder Cancer Clinical Trials

Fluorouracil in Treating Patients With Recurrent or Metastatic Bladder Cancer

Start date: December 1997
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of fluorouracil given as a continuous infusion in treating patients with recurrent or metastatic bladder cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00003148 Completed - Leukemia Clinical Trials

Interleukin-2 in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Acute Myelogenous Leukemia

Start date: October 1997
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Interleukin-2 may stimulate a person's white blood cells to kill acute myelogenous leukemia cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of interleukin-2 in treating patients with acute myelogenous leukemia that has relapsed following previous treatment.

NCT ID: NCT00003119 Completed - Neuroblastoma Clinical Trials

Surgery in Treating Children With Neuroblastoma

Start date: March 1998
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Surgery alone may be effective in treating children with neuroblastoma. PURPOSE: Phase III trial to study the effectiveness of surgery alone in treating children who have neuroblastoma.
