Start date: April 22, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the prevalence of 4 or more DNA-repair gene defects in a population of men with metastatic Prostate Cancer (PC) and to use the reported DNA-repair gene defects to assess biomarker eligibility for niraparib interventional studies.

RCT Cefiderocol vs BAT for Treatment of Gram Negative BSI

GAMECHANGER
Start date: October 28, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether a new antibiotic, Cefiderocol which works against a wide variety of gram negative bacteria, is equally effective as the antibiotics that are currently used as current standard of care.

NCT ID: NCT03864172 Completed - Bone Health Clinical Trials

Soluble Corn Fiber on BMD in Pre-pubertal Boys and Girls (PREBONE-Kids)

PREBONE-Kids
Start date: August 2, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of soluble corn fiber (SCF) on bone mineral content (BMC) and bone mineral density (BMD) in pre-pubertal boys and girls. The hypothesis to be tested is: SCF will lead to greater increase of BMD, as measured with densitometry in both low calcium as well as high calcium intakes compared to placebo.

NCT ID: NCT03844425 Completed - Clinical trials for Orthodontic Appliance Complication

Microbial Colonisation On Vacuum-Formed Retainers Constructed On Conventional Models And Three Dimensional (3D) Reconstructed Models

Start date: December 2, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Vacuum-formed retainers are clear or transparent retainers, that hold the teeth in the new position after active orthodontic treatment. These custom made appliances are becoming popular these days due to the aesthetics value among patients. Vacuum-formed retainers can be made through a process that softens the clear plastic and vacuumed to follow the shape of the dental model before it cools off and hardens again. These dental models can be made from conventional method or through a 3D reconstruction process. Recently, it was found that there is no difference in terms of stability of the teeth and oral health related quality of life of the patients wearing vacuum-formed retainers constructed on either types of models. Physically, the surface roughness of the retainers appear different because the conventional models and 3D printed models are constructed in a different manner. Our interest is to determine whether the difference in surface roughness would affect microbial colonisation which can eventually affect the oral health. So this study aims to find the association between microbial colonisation and surface roughness of vacuum-formed retainers constructed on conventional models and also 3D reconstructed models.

NCT ID: NCT03839823 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Study to Compare the Combination of Ribociclib Plus Goserelin Acetate With Hormonal Therapy Versus Combination Chemotherapy in Premenopausal or Perimenopausal Patients With Advanced or Metastatic Breast Cancer

RIGHT Choice
Start date: February 25, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

To compare the combination of Ribociclib plus goserelin acetate with hormonal therapy versus combination chemotherapy in premenopausal or perimenopausal patients with advanced or metastatic breast cancer

NCT ID: NCT03837834 Completed - Clinical trials for INCOMPLETE SPINAL CORD INJURY (ASIA D)

Effects of 6 Weeks High-intensity Interval Training Among Spinal Cord Injury

Start date: February 15, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The training consists of 6 weeks of functional electrical stimulation leg cycling exercise (FES-LCE) program. The training program comprises of 2 visits per week. Each visit consists of FES-LCE for 45 minutes. Throughout the 6 weeks program, there will be testing/assessment sessions on week 1, week 3 and week 6. The FES will be applied via surface electrodes and the stimulation intensity based on the participant's tolerance level.

NCT ID: NCT03837327 Completed - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Clinical Validation of the InterVenn Ovarian CAncer Liquid Biopsy

VOCAL
Start date: April 16, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Venn Biosciences Corporation ("InterVenn") has developed a liquid biopsy that is capable of distinguishing benign from malignant masses in women presenting with adnexal (pelvic) masses, through a simple blood test. The underlying technology combines mass spectrometry and artificial intelligence/machine learning to analyze tumor-associated changes in circulating glycoproteins. The purpose of this study is to prospectively collect de-identified biological samples and data from women with a known pelvic mass, in order to validate ovarian cancer specific glycoproteomic signatures in the blood based on histologically confirmed malignancy status of the mass.

NCT ID: NCT03829332 Completed - Clinical trials for Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Efficacy and Safety Study of Pembrolizumab (MK-3475) With or Without Lenvatinib (MK-7902/E7080) in Adults With Programmed Cell Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1)-Positive Treatment-naïve Nonsmall Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) (MK-7902-007/E7080-G000-314/LEAP-007)

Start date: March 13, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of pembrolizumab (MK-3475) combined with lenvatinib (MK-7902/E7080) compared to pembrolizumab alone (with placebo for lenvatinib) in treatment-naïve adults with no prior systemic therapy for their metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumors have a programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) Tumor Proportion Score (TPS) greater than or equal to 1%. The primary study hypotheses are that: 1) the combination of pembrolizumab and lenvatinib is superior to pembrolizumab alone as assessed by Progression-free Survival (PFS) per Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors version 1.1 (RECIST 1.1); and 2) the combination of pembrolizumab and lenvatinib is superior to pembrolizumab alone as assessed by Overall Survival (OS).

NCT ID: NCT03819530 Completed - Clinical trials for Iron Deficiency Anemia

Child of Urban Poverty Iron Project (CUPIP) - A Pilot Study

CUPIP
Start date: September 16, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The first 1,000 days of life are critical periods for brain development. Proper nutrition lays the foundation for optimal growth, health, and neurodevelopment across the lifespan. Poor nutrition in this vulnerable period has irreversible consequences, including stunting, susceptibility to sickness, reduced school performance and productivity, and impaired intellectual and social development. UNICEF reported in 2018 that among the low cost flat residents in urban areas of the Klang Valley, 15% of children under 5 years old were stunted, 22% underweight, and 23% either overweight or obese. Will a micronutrient supplementation program improve the growth and iron status of children aged 6 months to 5 years staying in Lembah Subang? Children will be randomized into treatment and control groups. Treatment groups will receive dietary micronutrient supplementation packets. Measurements of height and weight and iron status will be taken at baseline and 4 months later.
