There are about 682 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Lebanon. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This multicenter study will evaluate the correlation of interleukin 28B (IL28B) genotypes with disease characteristics and demographics in treatment-naïve and treatment-experienced chronic hepatitis C patients, including patients with HIV co-infection. There will be a single study visit for testing.
The purpose of this phase III study is to determine whether Doxorubicin Transdrug (DT) is effective in the treatment of patients suffering from advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) after failure or intolerance to Sorafenib. Patients with HCC with or without cirrhosis and with good liver functions are eligible. Only those who can not benefit from treatment for which efficacy is demonstrated are eligible. These patients are usually proposed either best standard of care (BSC) or participation to clinical trials. Patients eligible for the RELIVE study will receive either DT at 20 mg/m2 or DT at 30 mg/m2 or the BSC.
This is a global, multi-centre, long-term, prospective, observational study to evaluate treatment patterns and clinical outcomes in patients with advanced or metastatic RCC treated for the first time with pazopanib. The study is designed to enroll approximately 700-1000 patients in over the course of an enrollment period of approximately 18 months. There are no protocol-mandated visits or procedures associated with the study. Each patient is expected to participate for a maximum of 30 months or until premature discontinuation (i.e., due to death, withdrawal of consent, lost to follow-up or study termination).
Beta thalassemia intermedia syndromes are genetic anemias caused by mutations which reduce production of beta globin, a major component of adult hemoglobin A, the protein which delivers oxygen throughout the body. Patients suffer from poor growth, fatigue, heart failure, endocrine deficiencies, and eventually, many require chronic blood transfusions. There is no approved therapeutic for the deficiency of beta globin chains in beta thalassemia. This trial will study an oral therapeutic which stimulates production of fetal globin, an alternate type which is produced by all humans, but is normally switched off in infancy. This type of globin can compensate for the missing protein in beta thalassemia.
The purpose of the study was to assess the efficacy, safety and tolerability of mirabegron 50 mg versus (vs) solifenacin 5 mg in the treatment of patients with OAB who were dissatisfied with their treatment due to lack of efficacy.
A study to assess the long term safety and tolerability of evolocumab (AMG 145) in adolescents and adults with severe familial hypercholesterolemia.
The study aims to collect data on the influence of a treatment with Visanne (Dienogest 2mg/d) on the Endometriosis related quality of life. These data will be collected using a special patient questionnaire (Endometriosis Health Profile 5, EHP-5). The study will also be used to describe the basic disease status and demographic characteristics of patients searching treatment by a gynecologist because of their endometriosis. In addition, the study will give insight into the typical diagnostic measures the physicians in different countries are using in the field of endometriosis.
A study to determine the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of evolocumab (AMG 145) in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH).
This study provided access to pasireotide sc in patients with Cushing's disease.and provided additional information for safety and efficacy of pasireotide s.c.
To compare the maintenance of efficacy of the combination of etanercept 50 mg once weekly plus methotrexate with or without other disease modifying antirheumatic drugs therapy with that of methotrexate with or without other disease modifying antirheumatic drugs therapy at Week 52 in subjects with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis who have achieved low disease activity after 24 weeks of therapy with open label etanercept 50 mg once weekly plus MTX with or without other disease modifying antirheumatic drugs therapy.
