NCT ID: NCT03555136 Completed - Clinical trials for Major Depressive Disorder

Real-life Effectiveness of Vortioxetine in Depression

RELIEVE
Start date: November 17, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Worldwide Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) has significant negative personal, societal and economic consequences. Vortioxetine (Brintellix®) is a new antidepressant authorized since 2013. Despite evidence generated from clinical trials which demonstrate that vortioxetine is an efficacious, well-tolerated antidepressant, there is a need to determine the effectiveness of vortioxetine in real life routine practice. The study aim is to examine the real-life effectiveness of vortioxetine on functioning, depressive symptom relief, cognition and quality of life. This is an observational, multi-national, study in patients with MDD initiating treatment with vortioxetine. Information will be collected by the physician, from the patient and their medical record at three time points - baseline, week 12 and week 24 (end of follow-up). This study will be conducted in six countries. In total 2,100 patients are planned for enrolment.

NCT ID: NCT03554590 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus

DM1, Effects of Carbo-Counting on Glycemic Control

Start date: December 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Carbohydrate counting is the most effective meal-planning strategy in type 1 diabetes (T1DM) to optimize insulin therapy. However, it may lead to weight gain and unhealthy eating habits. This study aims to compare glycemic control parameters, anthropometric measurements and dietary lifestyle in T1DM patients who practice CHO-counting, after attending a structured course to learn how to manage this tecnique, vs a control Group, in a follow up period of 2 years.

NCT ID: NCT03553836 Active, not recruiting - Melanoma Clinical Trials

Safety and Efficacy of Pembrolizumab Compared to Placebo in Resected High-risk Stage II Melanoma (MK-3475-716/KEYNOTE-716)

Start date: September 12, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This 2-part study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of pembrolizumab (MK-3475) compared to placebo in participants with surgically resected high-risk Stage II melanoma. Participants in Part 1 will receive either pembrolizumab or placebo in a double-blind design every 3 weeks (Q3W) for up to 17 cycles/~1 year (each cycle = 21 days). Participants who complete the initial treatment of 17 cycles of pembrolizumab in Part 1 and experience disease recurrence may be eligible for re-challenge with pembrolizumab at the same dose and schedule of 200 mg Q3W (21-day cycles) for up to 35 cycles (up to ~2 years) in Part 2 in an open label design. Participants who complete the initial treatment of placebo and experience disease recurrence may be eligible to switch over to pembrolizumab 200 mg Q3W (21-day cycles) for up to 35 cycles (up to ~2 years) in Part 2 in an open label design. The primary hypothesis of this study is that pembrolizumab increases recurrence-free survival (RFS) compared to placebo. Per protocol, response/ progression or adverse events (AEs) during re-challenge/switch-over in Part 2 will not be counted towards the RFS outcome measure or safety outcome measures respectively.

NCT ID: NCT03553420 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Lipodystrophy Acquired

Registry for Patients With Lipodystrophy

ECLip Registry
Start date: December 16, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Given the lack of knowledge on lipodystrophies, the medical and social responsibility for the persons affected by it calls for the monitoring of the progression over long periods of time. Sensible clinical and basic research into rare diseases such as lipodystrophy is only possible in multi-location networks with sufficient case numbers. Also, reliable information on the incidence of certain manifestation patterns, health status, etc. is of utmost importance for health care and health policy in this rare disease. Therefore, the European Consortium of Lipodystrophies (ECLip), an association of European experts on lipodystrophy, has launched a registry (OSSE) for lipodystrophies which is committed to help to improve the research conditions by consolidating this kind of information in a registry.

NCT ID: NCT03553381 Completed - Metabolic Syndrome Clinical Trials

Oxidative Stress, Inflammation, and Lipoprotein in Metabolic Syndrome

Start date: December 30, 2010
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Obesity is associated with general low grade inflammation and, consequently, of oxidative stress that affects properties and functionality of lipoproteins. Metabolic syndrome exacerbate low grade inflammation. The intentional weight loss of at least 5% of the initial weight can modulate the pro-inflammatory state and reduce the oxidative stress related to the metabolic syndrome, thus diminishing the cardiovascular risk.

NCT ID: NCT03553264 Recruiting - Vestibular Diseases Clinical Trials

Three-dimensional Virtual Reality Procedures in Vestibular Rehabilitation

Start date: August 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the present study will be to discover possible (i) improvements achievable in unilateral vestibular hypofunction patients using a self-assessed head-mounted device (HMD)-based gaming procedure when combined with a classical vestibular rehabilitation protocol (HMD group) as compared with a group undergoing only vestibular rehabilitation and (ii) HMD procedure-related side effects. Main outcomes will be: otoneurological testing (vestibulo-ocular reflex gain study by means of vHIT and posturography measures with particular attention on power spectra) and self-report and performance measures (DHI, DGI and ABC). Side effects of HMD implementation will be studied by means of Simulator Sickness Questionnaires. Moreover, second part of the study would collect patients' data one year after the end of the vestibular rehabilitation or its implementation with HMD.

NCT ID: NCT03553199 Completed - Clinical trials for Tissue Retraction System

Study on a New Endoscopic Platform for the ESD of Colorectal Lesions: Tissue Retraction System

TRS
Start date: May 28, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is an endoscopic technique that allows the removal of lesions of the gastrointestinal tract. The European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) suggests to consider ESD for the removal of colorectal lesions that cannot be removed enbloc with standard polypectomy or endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and for lesions that are > 20 mm in diameter, with a high probability of having a limited submucosal invasion. ESD is a technically difficult and time-consuming procedure that is very difficult to learn and to perform, but it allows higher enbloc resection rates compared to other endoscopic techniques and is less invasive than surgery requiring less length of hospital stay. Recently, several new techniques and devices have been developed to facilitate ESD and to overcome difficulties related to challenging situations. The main difficulties are related to the instability of the operating field, due to the physiologic peristalsis, and to the loss of traction, due to the single operating channel.

NCT ID: NCT03553030 Completed - PreDiabetes Clinical Trials

Prediabetes and Non Obstructive Coronary Atherosclerosis.

Start date: January 1, 2015
