Validation of the Italian Version of the PRO-CTCAE

Start date: July 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to complete the validation process by testing the remaining two psychometric properties (validity and responsiveness) of the Italian version of the PRO-CTCAE in a large group of patients. In particular, for the first time this study will validate the tool for individual types of cancer and will provide information on psychometric properties based on the type of treatment used in clinical practice.

Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Cabozantinib in the treatment of patients with renal cell carcinoma.

NCT ID: NCT04416217 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Eosinophilic Esophagitis

Eosinophilic Esophagitis Steroid Safety Study

EESY
Start date: October 7, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This observational study will follow pediatric patients with eosinophilic esophagitis who are scheduled to begin topical steroid treatment, from the initiation of treatment longitudinally to determine the safety profile of the drug.

NCT ID: NCT04415801 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Peri-implant Mucositis

Effect of Repeated Removal and Re-placement of Abutments Around Dental Implants

Start date: May 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Repeated removal and re-placement of healing and prosthetic abutments result in frequent injuries to the soft tissues. The purpose was to evaluate the effect of repeated removal and re-placement of laser microgrooved and smooth/machined healing and prosthetic abutments during restorative stages, and 1 year after functional loading, on proinflammatory cytokine levels around dental implants.

NCT ID: NCT04415580 Completed - Clinical trials for Gait Disorders, Neurologic

Vestibular Rehabilitation and Severe Traumatic Brain Injury

Start date: June 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Severe brain injury (sTBI) is one of the most common causes of long-term disability and is considered the most frequent cause of mortality and serious disability in young adults in industrialized countries. It is defined as an alteration of brain function with loss of consciousness in the acute phase for at least 24 hours (Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) <8) and it can induce a wide range of deficit, including cognitive-behavioural, motors, psychics, language, vision, coordination and balance impairments. Chronic vestibular symptoms such as dizziness and balance deficits (both static and dynamic postural instability) are present in patients with brain injury. These aspects can cause functions limitation and psychological distress, negatively impacting negatively on subjects' quality of life and social reintegration and are considered unfavourable prognostic factors of the recovery process. The literature supports the use of vestibular rehabilitation techniques in patients with mild and moderate brain injury, however, to date, no studies investigated the effect of vestibular rehabilitation in sTBI patients. The main aim of this randomized controlled trail is to verify the effect of a personalized vestibular training on balance and gait disorders in sTBI patients.

NCT ID: NCT04415138 Active, not recruiting - Surgery Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Robotic-assisted Mitral Surgery With the daVinci X Surgical System

Start date: March 10, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Robotic assistance allows performance of mitral valve operations with a truly minimally invasive and totally thoracoscopic approach, with significant advantages for patients compared to sternotomy-based surgery. Nonetheless, its diffusion has been limited by: 1) significant learning curve and technical requirements; 2) increased immediate financial costs due to dedicated equipment and materials. The aim of the present study is to perform a prospective data collection and evaluation of the in-hospital and follow-up clinical results of mitral valve repair using the last generation DaVinci X robotic platform. A cost-effectiveness analysis of this approach will be also conducted, under a global healthcare system perspective (including the overall patients' pathway starting from diagnosis of mitral valve disease until the completion of the 1st postoperative year). Since the 'competitor' surgical technique is not represented by sternotomy-based mitral surgery, but instead by minimally invasive, video-assisted mitral surgery, patients operated on using such technique will serve as controls.

NCT ID: NCT04413747 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Coronavirus Infection

Yoga Pranayama Adjuvant to Treat Burden COVID-19

YOCO
Start date: August 15, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

COronaVIrus Disease or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome -CoV-2 or COVID-19, mortality occurs mainly from immunological behavior or by suicide after healing . In both cases, the causal link is coronavirus within the host response. The rationale of use of deep yoga breathing as adjuvant treatment to COVID-19 disease , is linked to the mechanical action to stimulate the vagus nerve through scalene and sternocleidomastoid muscles function of which the continuity of action bring to modulate upto suppress, the inflammatory reflex and pro-inflammatory cytokines overproduction and contextual lowering of the sympathetic stress response as a first cause of sleep and late mental disorders which can increase the annual suicide rate. An easily breathing medical Yoga protocol has been developed to test a cost-effective care provision, training, contact tracing and mass efficacy testing.

NCT ID: NCT04413240 Recruiting - Stroke Sequelae Clinical Trials

Telerehabilitation for Post-stroke Patients

Start date: July 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In the last few years, there has been an increasing shift towards outpatients setting in the care of patients with stroke. Unfortunately, this led to a high percentage of discharged patients who did not receive an adequate amount of rehabilitation, because of some non-clinical factors, such as resource availability, geographical location, age, and personal wealth. To date, there is growing evidence about the role of telerehabilitation as an effective method to deliver rehabilitative treatments to homebound subjects with no moving of therapists or patients. However, the most appropriate organizational models regarding Health Technology Assessment in telerehabilitation procedures still object of debate. On these bases, the aim of this project is to investigate the feasibility and effectiveness of multi-domains telerehabilitation procedures in stroke patients in order to supply the National Health Service with some useful information about the use of telerehabilitation in clinical practice of stroke rehabilitation.

NCT ID: NCT04412941 Completed - Sleep Disorder Clinical Trials

Respiratory Rehabilitation in Obstructive Sleep Apneas

OSA20
Start date: May 22, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The Obstructive Sleep Apnea is characterized by obstruction of the upper airway during sleep (for at least 10 sec), with repeated breathing pauses, accompanied by oxygen desaturation in the blood and by sleep interruption with repeated arousals. The investigators hypothesized that good sleep hygiene, the execution of respiratory rehabilitation exercises, with specific myofascial exercises on the muscles that are compromised in the Obstructive Sleep Apnea, can improve the patient's clinical outcome and quality of life. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of respiratory rehabilitation with myo-functional exercises in mild obstructive sleep.
