There are about 21062 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Italy. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The primary objective of this study is to investigate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of RV 001 (teprotumumab), a fully human anti-IGF1R antibody, administered q3W for 6 months, in comparison to placebo, in the treatment of participants suffering from active TED. "Funding Source - FDA OOPD"
The primary purpose of this trial was is to assess the effect of treatment with deferasirox combined with erythropoietin vs. erythropoietin alone on erythropoiesis in patients with low- and int-1-risk myelodysplastic syndrome. The addition of deferasirox to erythropoietin can lead to a potential synergism with the reduction of reactive oxygen species, through both the NF-kB pathway and the control of free toxic iron. This may create a better environment in the bone marrow for a better response with erythropoietin. This study was designed to test in a prospective way the combination of deferasirox with erythropoietin in terms of their effect on hematopoiesis.
The purpose of this international, multicenter study is to determine ventilation practice and outcomes of intubated and ventilated intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Ventilation characteristics and outcomes will be compared between patients without the acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), patients at risk for ARDS, and patients with mild, moderate or severe ARDS. Participating centres worldwide will include adult patients undergoing mechanical ventilation in the ICU during a 7-day period. Patients data will be collected during the first 7 days in the ICU, or until ICU discharge. Follow up is until day 90. Primary endpoint is the tidal volume size used during mechanical ventilation. Secondary endpoints are development of ARDS in patients without ARDS at the onset of mechanical ventilation, worsening of ARDS in patients with ARDS at the onset of mechanical ventilation, pulmonary infection, other pulmonary complications, need for tracheostomy, extra-pulmonary complications, duration of ventilation, length of ICU and hospital stay, and ICU, hospital and 90-day mortality.
The aim of this study was to estimate the relationship between BIS and Spectral Entropy values and any explicit or implicit memory or dreams recall during desflurane anaesthesia.
This randomized, multicenter, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of lebrikizumab in participants with asthma whose disease remains uncontrolled despite daily treatment with inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) therapy and at least one second controller medication. Participants will be randomized in 1:1:1 ratio to receive double-blind treatment with either lebrikizumab ("high" or "low") or placebo, administered as subcutaneous (SC) injection every 4 weeks for 52 weeks, in addition to their standard-of-care therapy. This will be followed by a 52-week double-blind active treatment extension. Participants who were assigned to placebo during the placebo-controlled period of the trial will be re-randomized at Week 52 to receive blinded SC lebrikizumab 37.5 milligrams (mg) or 125 mg every 4 weeks from Weeks 53 to 104. The anticipated time on study treatment is 104 weeks. After study treatment, all participants will complete a 20-week safety follow-up.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the clinical and radiographic outcomes of 23 edentulous jaws treated with 3D software planning, guided surgery, immediate loading and restored with Cad-Cam Zirconia and titanium full arch frameworks. Material & methods: This study was designed as a prospective clinical trial. Twenty patients have been consecutively rehabilitated with an immediately loaded implant supported fixed full prosthesis. A total of 120 fixtures supporting 23 bridges (8 mandible, 15 maxilla) were placed , 22 of which in fresh post extraction sockets. All the implants were inserted with an insertion torque of 35/45 Ncm. 117 out of 120 implants were immediately loaded the other 3 were delayed loaded. Outcome measures were implants survival, radiographic marginal bone-levels and bone remodeling, soft tissue parameters and complications.
A major limitation of standard hemodialysis is that it does not clear the plasma from interleukin-6 (IL-6) and p-cresol, two uremic toxins responsible for the high cardiovascular risk in end stage renal disease (ESRD). In the present study, we evaluated whether these compounds are removed by HFR-Supra, a double-chamber hemodiafiltration system in which the ultrafiltrate (UF) returns to the patient after its regeneration through a resin cartridge. We selected 8 inflamed chronic hemodialysis (HD) patients, which underwent a single 240 minutes HFR session. We studied the change in both IL-6 and p-cresol circulating levels, by comparing pre- and post-HFR serum concentrations. In addition, we compared Il-6 and p-cresol levels in the UF entering (UFin) and exiting (UFout) from the cartridge, either at the start or at the end of the HFR session. The proinflammatory activity of UFin and UFout was determined by evaluating the changes that they induced in IL-6 messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) expression and release in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) collected from 8 healthy volunteers and cultured in vitro for 24 hr.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of Cabozantinib (XL184) compared with Everolimus (Afinitor) on progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in subjects with advanced renal cell cancer that has progressed after prior VEGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy.
The dietary restriction of proteins and sodium is a cornerstone in the treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and of its metabolic consequences. Dietary adjustments in CKD are complex and the patients' compliance is very low. A dietary interview method is a validated instrument to evaluate the patients' compliance; however, it the presence of a dedicated dietitians. For these reasons, and because of the absence of dedicated dietitians in many nephrology centres, it is usual practice to give standard low protein diets to CKD patients not on dialysis. Aim of this study was to verify if few simple tips were able to reduce protein, phosphate and sodium intake in patients with CKD, as compared to the practice of giving a low protein diet elaborated by a renal dietitian.
