There are about 21062 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Italy. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Prospective, multicenter, single-arm, open label, interventional study evaluating adoptive cell therapy (ACT) with autologous tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) infusion (LN-145) followed by IL-2 after a non-myeloablative (NMA) lymphodepletion preparative regimen for the treatment of patients with recurrent, metastatic, or persistent cervical carcinoma
A randomised, single-blind, active controlled, multi-centre trial to evaluate the efficacy, safety, tolerability, acceptability and palatability of PMF104 compared to a conventional PEG-electrolyte solution in paediatric subjects requiring a diagnostic procedure concerning the colon.
This study represents an extension of a previous study (NCT02641431) on the acute and long-term benefit of epicardial ablation on elimination of both BrS-ECG pattern and VT/VF inducibility in 500 consecutive BrS patients.
Prospective Italian study aimed to provide a description of the population affected by Epithelioid Sarcoma (ES)
In light of the widespread organ shortage, dynamic preservation by means of Machine Perfusion (MP) has been proposed as a strategy to increase the pool of suitable grafts for liver transplantation. Reproducing more physiological conditions than traditional Static Cold Storage (SCS), MP may allow a better preservation and evaluation and perhaps even the resuscitation of high risk grafts. As a consequence, unnecessary discard of organs could be avoided and quality and safety of transplantation could be improved as well. Hypothermic MP (HMP) seems to reduce ischemia-reperfusion injury. In fact, hypothermia slows down the metabolic rate and the oxygenation of the perfusate leads to re-synthesis of Adenosine TriPhosphate (ATP), which results in the restoration of cellular energy. Four series about the use of HMP in the clinical setting has been published so far. They all report acceptable outcomes after transplantation of human liver grafts from extended criteria Brain Dead Donors (BDD) and from Donation after Circulatory Death (DCD) donors preserved by HMP, thus proving its feasibility and safety. The efficacy of HMP, instead, is still under investigation in a phase II randomized trial. This is an observational, prospective, monocentric study aiming at verifying the feasibility and safety of post-SCS Hypothermic Oxygenated PErfusion (HOPE) in the setting of our liver transplant program. Extended criteria grafts from BDD and grafts from DCD donors will be preserved by post-SCS HOPE prior to transplantation. The recipients of these grafts will be followed-up for at least 1 year.
Chronic intestinal inflammation produce dysplasia more frequently than the normal population. The therapies protect against these changes, but do not rule out dysplasia. It is not known the effect of different therapies protection.
Vitamine d dosage in important to define nutritional status and bone metabolism. For patients with intestinal disorders it is important to establish the intestinal absorptive function. It is important to establish the absorption of vitamin D which correlate with different biological activity and bone metabolism, immune function and the communication between the cells.
Coagulation dysfunction is frequent in septic patients and it is associated with an increase risk of mortality. During sepsis platelets number usually decreases and their function is reduced and this mechanism is sustained by an inflammatory induced coagulopathy. Some recent studies evaluated the possibility to use viscoelastic whole blood tests of the haemostasis, such as thromboelastography (TEG), which analyze all blood components and their interactions during clot formation and dissolution and might be useful for assessing bleeding risk in septic patients. Maximun amplitude (MA) is one of the variables obtained from TEG analysis and it expresses the strength of the clot and the efficacy of platelet function. A low level of MA describes a lower strength of the clot determined by a lower number or a reduced function of platelet. The aim of the present study is to evaluate whether a lower level of MA and a pattern of hypocoagulability might be associated with an increased risk of bleeding and need of transfusion in patients with sepsis. We want to conduct a prospective multicenter observational study, enrolling 100 consecutive adults patients with sepsis. We will exclude patients under 18 years old of age, chronic use of oral anticoagulant and anti platelet treatment, hematologic malignancy, congenital bleeding disorders, oral contraceptives, lack of consent. Primary end point To evaluate whether a lower level of MA might be associated with an increased risk of bleeding. Secondary end points: to evaluate whether a different level of MA correlates with the biomarker of the severity of sepsis such as presepsin, with the biomarker of the severity of infection and whether a pattern of hypocoagulability might be associated with a risk of mortality. All enrolled patients will undergo a blood sample at admission (T0), after 72 hours (T1) and after 7 days (T2) and all the following parameters will be measured: Platelet count, APTT, PT, INR, fibrinogen, procalcitonin and presepsin . Additionally, all viscoelastic parameters (reaction time (R), clot formation speed (K), angle (alpha) and maximum amplitude (MA)) will be performed at bedside, at T0, T1, T2: Outcome measurements: Intensive Care Unit Length of Stay and mortality at 28 days and at 90 days.
Video capsule endoscopy (VCE) is recommended as the gold standard in small bowel exploration. The efficiency of the axial-viewing (Given, Imaging) has been widely reported. The CapsoCam capsule (Capsovision, California, USA) has four cameras allowing the exploration of the small bowel through 360 degree lateral viewing. Celiac disease is the most common autoimmune enteropathy in Western countries, and is usually associated with a good response to the gluten free diet and an excellent prognosis. However, a minority of patients develop complications of the disease, such as refractory celiac disease, ulcerative jejunoileitis and neoplastic complications such as adenocarcinoma of the small bowel and enteropathy associated T cell lymphoma. In recent years, the detection of small bowel lesions has dramatically improved thank to the availability of capsule endoscopy exploration. The aim of this study was to evaluate detection rate and diagnostic concordance of the axial view capsule and CapsoCam capsules in the same patients.
The aim of the study is to evaluate the incidence of sexual dysfunction in presence of dysthyroidism and the impact of restoring euthyroidism on female sexual function
