There are about 21062 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Italy. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Nephrotic syndrome is considered a disease caused by an interplay of immunological stimuli with adaptive immunity(CD80/CD40) as trigger and Treg in the mid between co-stimulatory molecules and effectors. The positive effect of drugs blocking CD20 maturation in SDNS suggests a main role of these cells in regulating the system. Multidrug dependent, multidrug resistant nephrotic syndrome as well as post transplant FSGS recurrence patients can be considered difficult to treat patients and the association of two drugs, one targeting CD20 and a targeting plasmacells can be use in order to block the stimulatory cascade at more sites.
The primary purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of single ascending intravenous (IV) (Part 1) and subcutaneous (SC) (Part 2) doses of RO7121932 and multiple ascending SC (Part 3) doses of RO7121932 in participants with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Background Lynch syndrome is caused by a pathogenic variant in one of the four Mismatch Repair genes (MMR): MLH1, MSH2/Epcam, MSH6, or PMS2. These pathogenic variants confer a higher risk of developing colorectal and other cancers, including small bowel cancer. The risk of developing a small bowel adenocarcinoma is about 100 times higher compared to individuals without Lynch syndrome, and the lifetime risk of small bowel cancer is estimated at 4,2%. The diagnosis of a small bowel cancer depends on videocapsule endoscopy (VCE). This device is swalled so that it can record images of the small bowel, which are then stored on a wearable device for about 8 hours. The capsule is then expelled in the feces while the images are transferred to a computer to be analysed. To date, there is conflicting evidence on the efficacy of small bowel cancer screening with VCE Rationale: this registry study will collect prospective data from patients with LS undergoing VCE Aim: evaluate the incidence of neoplastic and pre-neoplastic lesions in patients with LS during a VCE-based small bowel cancer screening study Design: this is a multicentric, observational study that analyzes data from diagnostic techniques already approved. Patients will not undergo diagnostic procedures beyond what would be recommended by clinical practice.
Cyclic, 5-day calorie restriction is a safe metabolic intervention when combined with standard therapies in cancer patients, favorably reshaping peripheral blood and intratumor metabolism and immunity in a way that may improve the antitumor activity and efficacy of immunotherapy. The goal of this clinical trial is to test if combining cyclic, 5-day calorie restriction with atezolizumab maintenance in patients with ES SCLC achieving at least stable disease after four cycles of induction atezolizumab plus carboplatin and etoposide chemoimmunotherapy may increase the efficacy of a standard first-line, chemo-immunotherapy approach in terms of patient PFS. The main question it aims to answer is: • does the combination of cyclic, 5-day calorie restriction with triweekly atezolizumab increase the 6 months PFS rate, as evaluated from maintenance treatment initiation, compared to historical results with standard atezolizumab maintenance monotherapy in patients with ES SCLC non-progressive after four cycles of first-line chemo-immunotherapy induction with atezolizumab plus carboplatin and etoposide?
The main aim of this longitudinal, pilot study is to evaluate the feasibility of a multi-domain (i.e., motor, language and cognitive domains) telerehabilitation system using the Virtual Reality Rehabilitation System (VRRS, Khymeia) in patients with stroke. Furthermore, data on patients' needs and clinical data will be collected before and after treatment and then analyzed.
The goal of this observational cross-sectional study is to learn about vagal features in patients with syndromic and non-syndromic TAA. The main question it aims to answer is to highlight a functional condition that could help stratify patients with TAA on the risk of aortic complications. Participant will take part by standing in supine position for 10 minutes and during active standing for 10 minutes. In this period of time, it will be possible to acquire the signals continuously and non invasively through recorded non-invasive blood pressure and piezoelectric sensor breathing belt.
The present investigation is focused to assess the effects of positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) on respiratory system compliance in obese patients invasive mechanical ventilation for laparoscopic or robotic surgery with pneumoperitoneum
The goal of this study observational prospective study is to define the facial morphological features associated with Marfan syndrome (MFS). The main qustion it aims to answer are: 1. To describe the facial morphological features associated with MFS and their evolution over time; 2. To study the association between facial morphology and the features of reference for the diagnosis of MFS.
Bilateral Lung transplantation (LUTX) is performed in selected patients with end-stage respiratory failure. During surgery, pulmonary arteries are sequentially cross-clamped. This can cause acute heart failure and hemodynamic instability that eventually persist into the postoperative period, leading to the need for prolonged vasoactive support in the postoperative Intensive Care Unit. Levosimendan is a relatively new vasoactive-inotropic drug, with different pharmacodynamic properties. This observational retrospective cohort study primarily aims 1) to describe the need for prolonged vasoactive support; 2) to evaluate the risk factors for prolonged vasoactive support; 3) to assess the impact of prolonged vasoactive support on outcomes. The secondary aim is to describe the use of Levosimendan in this cohort of patients.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether milvexian compared to placebo reduce the risk of recurrent ischemic stroke.
