NCT ID: NCT04648657 Completed - Clinical trials for Hypoxic Respiratory Failure

Lung Ultrasound, PEEP and Overdistension (LUPO)

LUPO
Start date: February 25, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The investigators suppose that lung sliding could be reduced in the same lung region moving from less ventilated to overinflated condition. This is supported by theoretical arguments by some authors but so far it has not been demonstrated. The investigators suppose that speckle tracking applied to LUS is able to demonstrate a reduction or abolition in pleural sliding when lung tissue is overinflated by higher PEEP after lung recruitment maneuver. The overinflation is diagnosed by Electric Impedance Tomography (EIT) and mechanical respiratory measurements (reduction in compliance as ratio between tidal volume over difference between plateau pressure and PEEP) and localized by EIT.

NCT ID: NCT04648644 Completed - Clinical trials for Enhanced Recovery After Surgery

Application of ERAS Protocol in Emergency Surgery

ERAS in CDU
Start date: November 3, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

This study defines a standardized protocol inspired to the ERAS philosophy for the peri-operative treatment of patients undergoing emergency abdominal surgery. Primary endpoint is the feasibility of the application of the standardized protocol; secondary endpoint is the safety

EMOS-COVID
Start date: July 27, 2020
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

SINGLE CENTER PHASE III INTERVENTIONAL RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL comparing efficacy and safety of enoxaparin at prophylactic dose (standard treatment) and enoxaparin at therapeutic dose (OFF-LABEL treatment) in 300 COVID-19 infected patients with moderate-severe respiratory failure (PaO2/FiO2<250) and/or increased D-dimer levels enrolled in different Units (Infectious disease, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pneumology) of Azienda Socio Sanitaria Territoriale Fatebenefratelli Sacco (ASST-FBF-SACCO).

Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Masked, Placebo-Controlled, Parallel-Group, Phase 2 clinical trial. The study objective is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of two different concentrations (0.5% and 1%) of progesterone topical gel compared to placebo, when administered twice a day for 3 months (12 weeks) in patients diagnosed with moderate to severe dry eye syndrome.

NCT ID: NCT04644978 Completed - Mental Illness Clinical Trials

European Study on the Attitude of Psychiatrists Towards Their Patients

Eustigma
Start date: July 29, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Background: Many people think that people with mental disorders might be dangerous or unpredictable. These patients face various sources of disadvantages and experience discrimination on job interviews, in education, and housing. Mental health-related stigma (MHS) occurs not only within the public community, it is a growing issue among professionals as well. Aim: The investigators designed a prospective, observational, multi-centre, international study of 35 European countries to investigate the MHS among medical specialists and trainees in the field of general adult and child and adolescent psychiatry. Methods: An internet-based, anonymous survey will measure the stigmatizing attitude by using the local version of the Opening Minds Stigma Scale for Health Care Providers. Presentation of the Results: The results of the research will be published in an international peer-reviewed journal. Furthermore, the research team will present the results at national and international conferences.

NCT ID: NCT04644601 Completed - Ankle Injuries Clinical Trials

Italian Version of The Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CAIT)

CAIT-I
Start date: January 7, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Study Design: Evaluation of the psychometric properties of a translated, culturally adapted questionnaire. Objective: Translating, culturally adapting, and validating the Italian version of the Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CAIT-I), allowing its use with Italian-speaking population to monitor both state of health and functional limitation deriving from ankle instability problems, in order to evaluate the degree of severity, without using the comparison with the opposite limb. Summary of Background Data: Lateral ankle sprain is the most common injury during sports activity, often cause of disability and of numerous complications following repeated episodes, including chronic ankle instability (CAI), which affects 32% to 74% of the aforementioned cases. Growing attention is devoted to standardized outcome measures to improve interventions for injured population. A translated form of the Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CAIT), a simple and specific tool for diagnosing chronic lateral ankle instability with excellent psychometric characteristics of both reliability and validity, has never been validated within the Italian speaking population.

NCT ID: NCT04642469 Completed - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Non- Small Cell Lung

MERMAID-2
Start date: November 30, 2020
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase III double-blind, placebo-controlled study of Durvalumab versus Placebo in patients with stage II-III NSCLC who are MRD-positive following curative intent therapy.

NCT ID: NCT04641715 Completed - Clinical trials for Bariatric Surgery Candidate

OAGB-MGB Conversions for Post-operative Complications

Start date: November 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Laparoscopic mini/one anastomosis gastric bypass (MGB/OAGB) is a relatively new bariatric procedure and is gaining ground over the surgical approach for morbid obesity as a safe and effective operation. Revision of MGB/OAGB was never studied before as multicenter data collection: we collected data from 21 italian centers who perform MGB/OAGB to evaluate patients' conditions which determinated the conversion from this procedure to another kind of bariatric technique.
