NCT ID: NCT00270803 Completed - Clinical trials for Marijuana Dependence

The Effects of Marijuana on Orientation and Motor Coordination and Brain Metabolism in Regular Smokers of Marijuana

Start date: July 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study investigates the effects of 17mg and 13mg Delta THC on orientation and motor coordination and brain metabolic activity in regular users of marijuana. Subjects were tested twice, after smoking cigarettes with marijuana and after smoking cigarettes without marijuana. On both occasions they performed on a virtual reality maze task. They were afterwards scanned in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) with Fluoro-deoxy-glucose (FDG).

How Does Early Age Life Style Affect Bone Strength and General Health Parameters at Middle Age?

Start date: March 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of vigorous physical activity versus extremely sedentary life style during young age on the bone mineral density and general health in later life.

NCT ID: NCT00268684 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Non-Small-Cell Lung

Comparison Study of WBRT and SRS Alone Versus With Temozolomide or Erlotinib in Patients With Brain Metastases of NSCLC

Start date: May 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The objectives of the study is to determine if either temozolomide or erlotinib combined with WBRT and SRS improves survival as compared to WBRT and SRS alone.Ptients with histologically confirmed NSCLC with the presence of 1-3 intraparenchymal brain metastases will be randomized to 3 arms. All of the patients will receive WBRT and SRS. The patients of the arm 1 will receive radiation treatment only, the arm 2 patients will be treated with temozolomide and arm 3 patients will receive erlotinib

NCT ID: NCT00267813 Completed - Nicotine Dependence Clinical Trials

The Effects of Craving and Abstinence From Cigarettes on Brain Metabolism in Smokers

Start date: July 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Craving and withdrawal from smoking cigarettes are major factors for relapse. We investigated craving for cigarettes in smokers undergoing pharmacological treatment with Bupropion (Zyban). We compare cue-induced reactivity to smoking videos in smokers who were successfully treated with Bupropion to smokers who are still smoking. We measured the brain's metabolic activity in response to smoking and neutral cues in Positron Emission Tomography using FDG.
