NCT ID: NCT03019692 Recruiting - Neonates Premature Clinical Trials

Longterm Outcome of Children With Neonatal Intra-Ventricular or Intra-Cranial Hemorrhage

NEONATAL ICH
Start date: January 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) is the most commonly recognized cerebral lesion on ultrasound in extremely preterm infants. Papile classification is commonly used to grade the severity of IVH. Grade III-IV IVH and other lesions noted on ultrasound including periventricular leukomalacia (pvl) porencephaly, and ventriculomegaly are well Documented to be associated with adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes. However, the true impact of lower-grade IVH on the neurodevelopment of these extreme preterm infants has not been well described. Also Neurodevelopmental outcome for neonatal non-traumatic Intra Cranial Hemorrhage (ICH) is not well established. The aim of this study is to look retrospectively at babies with neonatal IVH or ICH and follow their radiological, cognitive, motor and functional outcomes. The study will focus on postnatal files, and on images performed as part of the child's follow-up during hospitalization and after discharge.

NCT ID: NCT03019120 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Vitamin D Supplementation and Neurocognition

Dcog
Start date: January 15, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the effect of vitamin D supplementation on the neurocognitive function of older people with lower than normal levels of vitamin D at baseline

NCT ID: NCT03017638 Completed - Block Clinical Trials

Analgesic Efficacy of Quadaratus Lumborum Block (QLB) for Laparoscopic Colectomy Surgery: A Prospective Case Control Trial to Evaluate Clinical Outcomes

Start date: February 27, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Pain after abdominal surgery can be extensive. Pain control is an important component of patient comfort and participation in rehabilitation. Multimodal analgesia methods have shown to reduce postoperative pain, and have been addressed to be a crucial part of the Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) protocols. Quadratus lumborum block (QLB) is a posterior abdominal wall block which analgesic efficacy has been shown for abdominal surgeries, and also for different laparoscopic procedures, such as ovarian surgery. The aim of this study is to assess QLB's analgesic efficacy for laparoscopic colectomy surgeries, using serial pain score assessments and overall opioid consumption; its effect on patient satisfaction; and its effect on the development of postoperative respiratory complications. This study is a prospective clinical trial assessing the effect of application of QLB as a regional analgesic technique for primary laparoscopic colectomy, in comparison to a historical retrospective cohort.

NCT ID: NCT03017326 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Hepatocellular

Paediatric Hepatic International Tumour Trial

PHITT
Start date: August 24, 2017
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The PHITT trial is an over-arching study for patients with Hepatoblastoma (HB) and Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). This trial will use a risk-adapted approach to the treatment of children diagnosed with HB. Children with HCC will be included as a separate cohort.

NCT ID: NCT03017287 Terminated - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 1 or 2

Safety and Efficacy of the GlucoMe APP in Patients With Uncontrolled Diabetes Treated With MDI

Start date: January 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of computerized GlucoMe App in patients with uncontrolled diabetes treated with MDI.

NCT ID: NCT03017157 Not yet recruiting - Heart Injuries Clinical Trials

Subclinical Hypothyroidism and Acute Anterior Myocardial Infarction: Is it Cardio-protective or Not?

Start date: January 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The study plans to investigate whether recovery of the heart function after acute anterior myocardial infarction is dependent upon improvement in thyroid gland functioning.

NCT ID: NCT03016884 Active, not recruiting - Herpes Zoster Clinical Trials

Safety and Tolerability of Herpes Zoster Vaccine Rheumatologic Patients

Start date: January 2017
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The reactivation of varicella zoster virus (VZV) (herpes zoster (HZ)) is of substantial public health concern. Updated ACR recommendations for RA treatment suggest that RA patients aged ≥ 50 years should be vaccinated before receiving biologic or tofacitinib therapy. The Investigators therefore propose a prospective study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of a zoster vaccine (Zostavax) in patients with RA, administered at least 2 weeks prior to initiation of anti-TNF biologic and tofacitinib therapy for RA. This is a 6-week open-label prospective multi-center study evaluating the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of Zostavax vaccine in the RA population prior to initiation of biologic/tofacitinib therapy for RA. VZV-specific immune response to vaccine in RA patients will be compared to healthy control subjects ≥ 50 years immunized with Zostavax.
