Well-being, Quality of life, Health, Apathy and Olfactory identification scales are proposed before the intervention, during the intervention at the end of each month (M1, M2, M3), 6 months after the end of the intervention (M9) and 12 months after the end of the intervention (M15).

Effects of Auditory Brain Stimulation by "Pink Noise" on Memory Capacities in Alzheimer's Disease: Proof of Concept Study

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder affecting almost 6% of the world's population over the age of 65. This disease, in its most typical sporadic form, is characterized by an episodic memory impairment linked to a deficit in consolidation. Many studies indicate that sleep promotes this consolidation stage during the deep slow sleep stage by facilitating the transfer of information between the hippocampus and the neocortex. A method of acoustic brain stimulation at night by pink noises has been recently developed and has shown its effectiveness in strengthening memory consolidation in healthy volunteers. Actually, there is no study observing the effect of this new stimulation method on populations with neurodegenerative pathologies, in particular in AD for which this technique could potentially become a therapeutic option. The hypothesis is that of a strengthening of the memory consolidation capacities in subjects with AD as has been shown in healthy subjects.

Diabetic kidney disease is one of the most severe and frequent complications of diabetes. Few preclinical markers are available apart from plasma creatinine and microalbuminuria. These markers are imperfect (some patients with advanced renal disease do not have an increase in markers) and late. Therefor there is an uncovered need to identify complementary biomarkers. Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) is a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technique that allows the physiology and biochemistry of human body tissues to be studied in a non-invasive and non-irradiating manner.

TFPI Levels in Haemophilia A and B Patients

The goal of this study is to measure the TFPI plasma level, a molecule involved in the regulation of the coagulation system, in haemophilia patients. The second objective is to assess the effects of TFPI inhibition on thrombin generation. Indeed, there is sparse data on the physiological and pathological changes of TFPI levels in human and particularly in hemophilia patients. Yet, TFPI inhibitors may become one of the new by-passing treatments of haemophilia. Until now, published data mainly reports in vitro pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of TFPI inhibitors. Hence, in vivo effects of TFPI inhibition remain unclear, especially in haemophilia patients. The clinical development of such molecules requires a dedicated biological monitoring. Thrombin Generation Assay (TGA) in Poor Platelets Plasma (PPP) is a good candidate since it is sensitive to Factor VIII and Factor IX deficiencies as well as to TFPI. However, TGA results are very dependent on experimental conditions (i. e. Tissue Factor and phospholipids concentrations) and the relationship between TFPI plasma level and TGA parameters has not been studied yet. This study should provide with original data on TFPI plasma levels and the effect of TFPI on thrombin generation in haemophilia patients. This should help to define the monitoring of TFPI inhibitors in Haemophilia.

Study to Determine Recommended Phase 2 Dose of Intravenous (IV) Eftozanermin Alfa in Combination With IV or Subcutaneous (SC) Bortezomib and Oral Dexamethasone Tablet and to Assess Change in Disease Symptoms in Adult Participants With Relapsed or Refractory Multiple Myeloma

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a rare cancer caused by abnormal survival of plasma cells (blood cells). Most trial participants with MM relapse (cancer has come back) or become non- responsive to treatment and remission gets shorter after each line of treatment. This is a study to determine recommended Phase 2 dose and change in disease symptoms of eftozanermin alfa in combination with bortezomib and dexamethasone to assess how efficient the treatment is in adult participants with relapsed/refractory (R/R) MM. Eftozanermin alfa (ABBV-621) is an investigational drug being developed for the treatment of R/R Multiple Myeloma (MM). Study doctors put the participants in 1 of the 2 groups, called treatment arms. Each group receives a different treatment. Participants in one arm will receive different doses of eftozanermin alfa in combination with bortezomib and dexamethasone to determine phase 2 dose (RP2D). Participants in the other arm will receive eftozanermin alfa at RP2D in combination with bortezomib and dexamethasone. Around 40 adult participants with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma will be enrolled at approximately 20 sites across the world. Participants will receive eftozanermin alfa as an infusion into the vein in combination with bortezomib as an infusion into the vein or an injection under the skin and oral dexamethasone tablets for 12 cycles. Each cycle is 21 days for cycles 1-8 and 35 days for cycles 9-12. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood tests, checking for side effects.

Health care workers working in hospital or nursing home for elderly people involved in the coronavirus epidemic are facing several challenges such as direct exposure and involvement in the resolution of major public health emergencies, exposure to potentially fatal contamination, physical exhaustion, unadjusted work organizations, the unusual number of deaths among patients, colleagues and close relatives, and significant ethical challenges in decision-making. Preliminary data suggests that frontline and lay professionals suffer from different types of psychological distress. These data highlight the importance of screening for psychological distress in response to the scale of the pandemic and the provision of targeted psychological interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR, desensitization and neuro-emotional integration by eye movements), to improve the psychological well-being of healthcare workers exposed to COVID-19. This project is both a cohort study with the proposal of a randomized trial to evaluate an intervention adapted to the exceptional circumstances of the crisis. As such, it is designed as Trial(s) Within Cohort design (TWIC).

Sporadic Alzheimer's disease is a multifactorial illness arising a major medico-economic stakes for our aging societies. There is currently no curative treatment available. Coffee is a complex beverage with psychostimulant properties whose main effective element, caffeine, has a pleiotropic effect on the central nervous system. Caffeine pharmacological properties enable its use like an Alzheimer's disease symptomatic treatment. Its supposed benefits mustn't obscure anxiety and insomnia caffeine effect at large dose, which Alzheimer's patients might be more vulnerable. The main study objective is to evaluate placebo-controlled caffeine efficacy (30 treatments weeks) on cognitive decline in Alzheimer's disease dementia at beginning to moderate stage (MMSE 16-24).

Dyspnea is defined by a subjective sensation of respiratory discomfort, the intensity of which varies according to the terrain, the anamnesis and the cause. Resuscitation is associated with many causes of dyspnea, including initial distress, mechanical ventilation, or after-effects following the pathology and its management. Respiratory distress is the most severe form of impaired lung function. It is the first cause of hospitalization in intensive care. This distress, indicative of the failure of the respiratory system, is always severe and potentially fatal. It therefore constitutes an absolute therapeutic emergency. Dyspnea is often the revealing symptom of the condition and the urgency surrounding its management is an additional factor of concern for the patient. As a result, dyspnea is a pejorative element associated with severity or even death.
