There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Intrauterine adhesions (IUA) are the major long-term complication of intrauterine procedures and are associated with pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, obstetrical complication and infertility. Womed Leaf is a medical device specifically designed for intrauterine use that prevents intra-uterine adhesions. It is a film that acts as a mechanical barrier to keep uterus walls separated during healing. It is then naturally discharged through the cervix and vagina in less than 30 days. The PREG1 clinical investigation is designed to evaluate Womed Leaf safety under clinical conditions, in women scheduled for a hysteroscopic myomectomy as well as its efficacy.
NIPE monitor is the recently developed pediatric version of the ANI monitor, which is used in adults to monitor analgesia during general anesthesia. In adults, under general anesthesia, ANI decreases after a nociceptive stimulation. The amplitude of this decrease is related to the intensity of the stim. This study aims to investigate if NIPE index decreases in the same manner after stimulations in anesthetized children.
The main hypothesis of the present study is that a safer knee joint is likely to encourage post stroke patients at an early stage to rely on their hemiparetic leg and transfer their weight onto it while walking. The main purpose of the present work is to assess the feasibility of FES-induced muscular control of the hemiplegic knee joint in order to improve stance phase support symmetry recovery in individuals with post stroke hemiplegia. Functional electrical stimulation (FES) is delivered to the quadriceps and hamstrings of the paretic limb based on the real-time estimation of the knee angle and support phase.
Periodontal diseases are highly prevalent inflammatory diseases. It is now well known that they are correlated with numerous systemic diseases as : diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, metabolic syndrome or rheumatoid arthritis. Recently, periodontal diseases have been correlated with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). IBD include two types, Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis. It could be a significant risk factor for the pathogenesis of periodontal disease. These diseases present common features : a high prevalence worldwide, multifactorial pathogenies with common mechanisms. To date, no study has linked activity of IBD and periodontal diseases. The authors hypotheses that the prevalence of periodontal diseases could be increased in patient presenting an active IBD
In severe COVID-19 pulmonary failure, the profound hypoxemia is mainly related to pulmonary vasodilation with altered hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction (HPV). Besides prone positioning, other non-ventilatory strategies may reduce the intrapulmonary shunt. This study has investigated almitrine, a pharmacological option used in standard care to improve oxygenation. A case control series of mechanically ventilated confirmed COVID-19 patients was recorded. At stable ventilatory settings, consecutive patients received two doses of almitrine (4 and 12 mcg/kg/min) at 30-45 min interval each, and were compared to 7 "control" COVID-matched patients conventionally treated. The end-point was the reduction of intra-pulmonary shunt, with an increase in partial pressure of arterial oxygen (PaO2) and central venous oxygen saturation (ScvO2).
The SARS-CoV 2 pandemic started in China in December 2019, then reached France on January 24, 2020. On March 14, France moved into phase 3 of the epidemic threshold with the implementation of containment measures on March 17 Measures were put in place by N.Belloubet (French Minister of Justice) from March 17, including suspension of visiting rooms and activities in detention. Containment provides boredom and isolation with many potential consequences: sleep disturbance, anxiety, PTSD, depression, suicide, addictive behavior and violence. However, prisoners have a higher prevalence of substance use disorders than the general population. What will have been the impact of the confinement on the consumption of psychoactive substances by prisoners at the Villeneuve Les Maguelone prison. - Anonymous questionnaire from the start - Collection of socio-demographic data - Collection of consumption data before and during containment - Collection of monitoring data
Objective: To demonstrate the presence of bioresistant intracorporeal carbon-based nanocomposites in subjects exposed to a fulguration, in the immediate aftermath of this fulguration and 24 months (+/- 6 months) after the accident, on blood and urine samples, then in comparison with blood and urine samples from 14 healthy subjects. Hypothesis: Lightning discharge in the human body reveals the presence of multi-functional nanoparticles which are reassembled under the impact of the electric discharge into nanostructured films, filaments and aggregates; they consist of dispersed graphene-like nanoparticles embedded in an aliphatic cross-reticulated matrix. The high electrical conductivity of the nanoinclusions, their refractory properties and the cross-reticulation of the nanoassemblages explain their biorésistance. The graphene-like multi-functional nanoparticles are assumed to trace a population of aerosols formed in the atmosphere by plasma discharge which is present in air, water and all natural resources. Their ability to undergo changes from folded nanosheets to confined ultra-fine nanoparticles allow them to be inhaled or absorbed by the human body, or to be ingested with food.
The specificity of the adaptive immune response (AIR), and its balance between effector T cells (Teffs) and regulatory T cells (Tregs), is most likely a major determinant of the outcome of a Covid-19 infection. We aim to analyze (i) the cellular components and (ii) the specificity of the AIR to COVID-19 in 60 patients with moderate and severe form of the disease. This should have important implications for (i) understanding the pathophysiology of the disease, (ii) discovering biomarkers of severity and (iii) designing treatments and vaccines.
The SARS-CoV-2 epidemic was declared as a global pandemic by the WHO on March 12, 2020. France is affected with approximately 120,000 biologically confirmed cases, as of April 30, 2020, a figure probably very underestimated. Its distribution in different populations, in particular immunocompromised, has not yet been measured. The in vitro efficacy of lopinavir coupled with ritonavir, an HIV protease inhibitor, on SARS-CoV, responsible for SARS has been discussed and this therapeutic combination is currently being evaluated in patients infected with COVID-19. The possible protective role of treatment with Lopinavir / ritonavir or another HIV protease inhibitor has not been studied. In addition, patients receiving HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) share certain epidemiological and behavioral characteristics with HIV-infected patients. The objective was to carry out an epidemiological study aimed at determining the attack rate of COVID-19 infection in patients infected with HIV and or on PrEP and to analyze this attack rate according to the characteristics of these 2 populations and in particular the existence or not of an antiretroviral treatment comprising Lopinavir / Ritonavir or another inhibitor of the HIV protease. Cross-referencing of Virology Laboratory data (positive or negative screening) and clinical-biological data can be easily carried out using a unique identification number in the 2 software programs and will allow an almost exhaustive epidemiological analysis in 2 well identified populations.
Background After the emergence of Covid-19 in China, Hubei Province, the epidemic quickly spread to Europe. France was quickly hit and the Croix-Rousse hospital at the Hospices Civils de Lyon was one of the first French university hospital to receive patients infected with Sars-COV2. The predicted massive influx of patients motivated the cancellation of all elective surgical procedures planned to free hospitalization beds and to free intensive care beds. Nevertheless, patients who had to be canceled had to be properly selected to avoid a life threatening. The retained surgical indications were surgical emergencies, oncologic surgery and organ transplantation. The objective was to describe the organization of the Croix-Rousse hospital to allow the continuation of these surgical activities while limiting the exposure of patients to the Sars Cov2.
