There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Alveolar bone graft is an essential step in the primary surgical treatment of unilateral or bilateral cleft lip and palate. The procedure involves repairing the alveolar cleft by an autologous iliac bone graft. Clinical experience suggests that a large number of the post-operative complications in this procedure are related to pre-and post-operative oral hygiene issues. The main objective of this research is the evaluation of pre-operative oral hygiene in children benefiting from alveolar bone graft and having a type Quad Helix orthodontic device. The secondary objectives are to describe the use of the Ara ® Toothbrush by a population of children with a cleft lip and palate and to know whether the use of the Ara ® toothbrush has an influence on the occurrence of post-operative complications evaluated at 6 months of intervention (delays in scarring, suture dehiscence, fistulas, surgical site infections, total or partial graft loss).
The purpose of this study is to determine the frequency of chronic pain in adolescent with juvenile idiopathic arthritis, especially when the disease is inactive or with minimal activity. Secondary objectives are, first to determine intensity of pain and its repercussion in daily life and second to determine risk factor of chronic pain.
To ensure adequate seal of currently available stent grafts, a proximal 20 mm of healthy aorta is recommended. Extending the proximal landing zone into the arch by intentional covering of the left subclavian artery (LSA) without revascularization expose to serious neurologic complications. Serious risks are also known to accompany subclavian revascularization. The Valiant Mona LSA Thoracic Stent Graft System (Medtronic,Santa Rosa, Calif) consists of a main stent graft and a branch stent graft designed to maintain LSA patency. The purpose of this study is to characterize the safety and effectiveness of this device for the treatment of Aneurysms and chronic Type B dissections of the arch.
Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder whose symptomatology induces a modification of the intestinal microbiota. To date, studies have shown variable profiles without linking them to metabolic and neuropsychological energy phenotyping. This intestinal dysbiosis could be involved in the maintenance of the disorders. Bidirectional communication channels exist between the microbiota, the intestine and the brain. Anomalies in these pathways could explain the impact of the microbiota on the pathophysiology of anorexia nervosa. Therapeutic interventions would then be possible to restore the microbiota in anorexia nervosa and influence the treatment of this disease. This study aims to explore the hypothesis of disruption of the microbiota-intestinal-brain axis transversely and measuring the intestinal microbiota, urinary metabolome, biological factors nutritional, immunological and physiological plasma plasma of the intestine, and finally, the psychological dimensions characteristic of anorexia nervosa.
Several breast diseases can complicate breastfeeding : 4% of women develop a mastitis and 1% develop an abscess. The study deals with cases of breast abscess that have been treated according to a defined protocol (Parisian Perinatal Health Network), by a multidisciplinary team (center of Medical Imaging Duroc) trained in breastfeeding and ultrasound-guided punctures. The aim of the study is to define the risk factors for the onset of a breast abscess, to evaluate the indications and methods of management of abscess by ultrasound puncture, and to provide arguments motivating the continuation of breastfeeding.
Main objective: Investigate how the FineHearing strategy of the MED-EL cochlear implant can extract prosody based solely on the frequency of the voice fundamental (F0) in speech Secondary objectives: Evaluate the time evolution of the results of prosodic tests Evaluate the time evolution of the results of differential frequency threshold test Evaluate the time evolution of vocal audiometric tests in silence and noise Evaluate the correlation between prosodic test results and frequency differential threshold results
The objective of this clinical study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of subepithelial implantation of the Allotex TransForm corneal allograft (TCA) for improving near vision in presbyopic subjects.
The objective of this clinical study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of intrastromal implantation of the Allotex TCA for improving distance vision in hyperopic subjects. The overall objective with respect to visual outcome is to provide improved vision without the requirement of additional visual aids.
Co-morbidities, including low bone mineral density, increased visceral adiposity and chronic kidney disease (CKD) are frequent in people living with HIV, and may be driven by ongoing inflammation and immune activation. Initiation of ART reduces inflammation and immune activation and is associated with changes in bone and renal biomarkers and gut microbiota. Investigators hypothesise that changes in gut microbiome when starting antiretroviral therapy correlate to changes in bone and renal biomarkers and wish to explore possible mechanisms linking these by investigating changes in markers of inflammation and immune activation.
In this pilot study, we wish to evaluate the performance of a robotic flexible ureteorscopy (ILY) in the treatment of nephrolithiasis in the superior excretory system
