There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Intramedullary nailing is the standard treatment of trochanteric fractures. Mechanical failure such as cut-out and cut-through are associated with high rates of revision surgery, functional impairment and mortality. Augmentation of the implant have shown encouraging results in reducing the number of mechanical failures. The aim of the study was to evaluate the rate of mechanical failure of the cement augmented screws of TFNA nails. A descriptive, retrospective, multi-operator, single-centre study was performed at our level 1 trauma centre. Patients were included if they were > 65 years of age, presented with a trochanteric fracture treated with an augmented TFNA nail. The primary outcome was fixation failure rate (cut-out or cut-through) at 3 and 6 postoperative months. Secondary endpoints were intraoperative data, clinical scores, and radiographic analysis.
The investigators aimed to study ocular biometrics parameters and their association with age, gender and the prevalence of high myopia in a population of cataract surgery candidates in the South of France. The investigators also aimed to define proportion of an "usual eye" and know the rate of inhomogeneous eyes in our population.
Our study consists of a national observational study assessing quantitatively (incidence) and qualitatively unscheduled extubation in intensive care unit. In addition, we will compare the outcome of patients with "success" or "failure" in the self-extubation subgroup.
France currently has more than 10 million disabled people, including 3 millions who could be better treated. In fact, people with disabilities face many obstacles in accessing care and receiving appropriate support (physical access to certain locations, communication...). Difficulties are also encountered by the healthcare staff, leading to often heterogeneous practices in health establishments. The INFRA health circuit has been set up at the "Groupe Hospitalier Mutualiste de Grenoble" since June 2018 according to the guidelines published by the French High Authority for Health (HAS) on improving professional practices "Reception, support and organization of care in health establishments for people in situation of handicap "of July 2017. The INFRA nurse collects and anticipates the necessary adaptations for the patient's stay, in conjunction with their caregivers (whether family or institutional). They are an interface with other healthcare professionals to adapt care procedures and protocols (body care, feeding methods, pain management, drug management) to the patient's disability. Before hospitalization and until the patient is discharged, the INFRA nurse transmits to the personnel involved all the information necessary for the proper continuation of care. In addition to legal and regulatory obligations, the INFRA nurse ensures the effective accessibility of the establishment's facilities and premises, and helps maintaining patient autonomy. The INFRA study is an observational study aimed at assessing the feasibility of the INFRA health circuit and evaluating the benefit for the patients and the healthcare staff.
The worldwide health system has been marked by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. French educational system has been upset, especially medical schools, which, because of their hospital location, are particularly exposed to the spread of the virus. The medical school of Paris-Saclay University, located within bicetre University Hospital, AP-HP, must therefore adapt on a daily basis to ensure educational continuity. Taking advantage of an exceptional scientific ecosystem, innovative viral epidemic propagation modeling approaches based on both simulation and contact tracing data will be tested in real-life conditions. These propagation models will serve to scientifically optimize future educational organization procedures in this medical school.
This study will consider the safety and effectiveness of a study drug, CAN04, in combination with FOLFIRINOX, in the treatment of metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
It aims to determine and compare the degree of vaginal bacterial alpha diversity in the absence (healthy population) or presence of bacterial vaginosis (pathological population).
This innovative cross-sectional study, carried out in the city, will provide valuable prospective data that will make it possible to identify public health avenues for specific and adapted care both in the medical and social field of newcomers to our territory. Our study will characterize the impact of reforms of the conditions of access to State medical aid and universal health protection on access to care and the state of health of this population. . It will make it possible to participate in the advocacy in favor of access to healthcare for all and the city PASS, the only device allowing access to healthcare in the city for all newcomers regardless of their status.
Knee osteoarthritis is a frequent condition whose prevalence is estimated at 7.6% of the French population aged 40 to 75, or approximately 2 million individuals . Viscosupplementation (VS) is a symptomatic treatment of knee osteoarthritis recommended by a large number of learned societies. It consists of the intra-articular injection (IA) of hyaluronic acid (HA), to reduce knee pain by restoring normal joint homeostasis impaired by endogenous HA deficiency. The IA administration of HA can be performed using 2 protocols: repeated weekly injections (3, sometimes 5 injections) and single injections. To date and there is no argument to favor either protocol. Regardless of the formula used, the safety of HA is excellent (RR of adverse reaction versus saline = 1.01, 95% CI 0.96-1.07, P = 0.6). The indication for viscosupplementation is the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis after failure and / or intolerance of analgesics or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). In this indication, after HA injection the responder rate is in the order of 70% to 75% at 6 months and approximately 50% at 12 months. However, the predictors of the duration of effectiveness of SV are still unknown. The objective of the study is to research the factors influencing the duration of the effectiveness of SV, under real life conditions.
Cranberries are traditionally used for urinary comfort and prevention of urinary disorders of bacterial origin and despite an EFSA opinion invalidating the clinical efficacy of cranberries, its mechanism of action has been several times proposed by the scientific community: it would act by inhibiting the synthesis of P-fimbriae leading to a complete disappearance of these adhesins, and to bacterial-type deformation by lengthening of the cell body. Cinnamon and microbiotic strains could enhance this synergy. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a food supplement based on cranberry, cinnamon and microbiotic strains (Feminabiane CBU) on the symptoms of cystitis, urinary discomfort and the number of cystitis reported by women.
