NCT ID: NCT01655693 Completed - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Hepatocellular

Efficacy and Safety Doxorubicin Transdrug Study in Patients Suffering From Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma

ReLive
Start date: June 2012
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this phase III study is to determine whether Doxorubicin Transdrug (DT) is effective in the treatment of patients suffering from advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) after failure or intolerance to Sorafenib. Patients with HCC with or without cirrhosis and with good liver functions are eligible. Only those who can not benefit from treatment for which efficacy is demonstrated are eligible. These patients are usually proposed either best standard of care (BSC) or participation to clinical trials. Patients eligible for the RELIVE study will receive either DT at 20 mg/m2 or DT at 30 mg/m2 or the BSC.

NCT ID: NCT01654341 Completed - Clinical trials for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Multi-Modal Intervention In Frail And Prefrail Older People With Type 2 Diabetes

MID-Frail
Start date: December 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The MID-Frail STUDY project focuses on the use of interventions designed to improve functional status and enhance quality of life (rather than traditional treatments such as glucose- and blood pressure- lowering) by acting on the mechanisms involved in producing frailty and its progression to adverse outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT01653262 Completed - Epilepsy Clinical Trials

Effect of Brivaracetam (BRV) on Nonpsychotic Behavioral Side Effects in Subjects Treated Previously With Levetiracetam (LEV)

Start date: July 2012
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Trial N01395 is to evaluate the reduction of nonpsychotic behavioral side effects in subjects with Epilepsy who switched to BRV 200 mg/day after discontinuing LEV due to such side effects; as well as the efficacy, safety and tolerability of BRV. No statistical hypothesis testing will be performed.

NCT ID: NCT01652482 Completed - Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Safety and Efficacy Study of MEHD7945A + FOLFIRI Versus Cetuximab + FOLFIRI as Second Line Therapy in Participants With KRAS Wild-Type Metastatic Colorectal Cancer (mCRC)

Start date: October 2012
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This open-label, randomized, multicenter, Phase 2 study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of MEHD7945A when combined with FOLFIRI (folinic acid [leucovorin], 5-fluorouracil [5-FU], and irinotecan) chemotherapy as compared to cetuximab plus FOLFIRI in participants with Kirsten Rat Sarcoma Viral Oncogene Homolog (KRAS) wild-type mCRC who have progressed after first-line oxaliplatin-containing chemotherapy for metastatic disease. Participants will be randomized to receive FOLFIRI chemotherapy plus either MEHD7945A or cetuximab. Anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurs.

NCT ID: NCT01652469 Completed - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Non-Small-Cell Lung

Testing of Drugs Erlotinib and Docetaxel in Lung Cancer Patients Classified Regarding Their Outlook Using VeriStrat®.

EMPHASIS
Start date: August 2012
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Using a laboratory test (VeriStrat), patients with relapsed squamous cell lung cancer are assigned to two strata, VSG (VeriStrat Good) and VSP (VeriStrat Poor). They are then randomized between an EGFR-TK inhibitor (erlotinib) and chemotherapy (Docetaxel). It is hypothesized that the VeriStrat test results are able to predict the benefit of treatment with erlotinib vs docetaxel. This would suggest a significant improvement in progression-free survival for VSG patients when treated with Erlotinib, and no significant improvement in VSP patients who receive the same treatment.

NCT ID: NCT01652222 Completed - Dementia Clinical Trials

Experimental Study to Validate the "Therapeutic Game" CONEM-BETA

Start date: January 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to assess the efficacy of the systematic application of the CONEM-BETA game in the subjective welfare of family caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's disease or other advanced stage dementia.

NCT ID: NCT01652001 Completed - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Drug-induced Xerostomia. Evaluation of Malic Acid 1%, Salivary Mucins and Buffering Capacity

Start date: January 2011
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The aim of our study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of a topical sialogogue spray containing 1% malic acid on patients affected by xerostomia caused by drugs. This research took the form of a double-blind, randomized clinical trial at Faculty of Dentistry of University of Granada (Spain). Participants with antidepressant-induced and antihypertensive-induce xerostomia were divided into two groups: for the first 'intervention group' a topical sialogogue spray (1% malic acid) was applied, while for the second 'control group', a placebo spray was applied; for both groups the sprays were applied on demand during two weeks. The Dry Mouth Questionnaire (DMQ) was used to evaluate xerostomia levels before and after product/placebo application. Unstimulated and stimulated salivary flows rates, before and after application, were measured.

NCT ID: NCT01649856 Completed - Clinical trials for Lymphoma, Large B-Cell, Diffuse

A Study of Subcutaneous Versus Intravenous MabThera/Rituxan (Rituximab) in Combination With CHOP Chemotherapy in Patients With Previously Untreated CD20-Positive Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma

Start date: August 24, 2012
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This multicenter, randomized, open label parallel-group study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of subcutaneous versus intravenous MabThera/Rituxan (rituximab) in combination with CHOP chemotherapy in patients with previously untreated CD20-positive diffuse large B-Cell lymphoma. Patients will be randomized to receive either MabThera/Rituxan 1400 mg subcutaneously or MabThera/Rituxan 375 mg/m2 intravenously on Day 1 of each cycle for 8 cycles, in combination with 6-8 cycles of CHOP chemotherapy. Anticipated time on study treatment is 6 months.
