NCT ID: NCT01384786 Completed - Thyroid Cancer Clinical Trials

The Incidence of Thyroid Cancer in 4474 Patients Treated for Hyperthyroidism or Goiter

Start date: October 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Patients with hyperthyroidism and/or goiter are evaluated with blood samples and scintiscan before they are treated with radioiodine for their thyroid disease. Because the investigators do not get a histologically/final diagnosis the investigators want to make sure, that the patients treated do not have a thyroid cancer when treated. The investigators have found that thyroid cancer is not overlooked.

NCT ID: NCT01383863 Completed - Clinical trials for Advanced Prostate Cancer

A Long-term Observational Study Cohort in Patients With Advanced Prostate Cancer

TRIPTOCARE LT
Start date: October 2011
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of the protocol is to assess the rate of castration resistance, disease progression and overall survival over a 3-year period post-androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) induction in a study cohort of patients with advanced disease.

NCT ID: NCT01383733 Completed - Neoplasms Clinical Trials

A Study of RO5458640 in Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors

Start date: July 2011
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This multicenter, open-label, multiple ascending dose study will evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and efficacy of RO5458640 in patients with advanced solid tumors. Cohorts of patients will receive ascending doses of RO5458640 intravenously, either weekly or every 2 weeks or every 3 weeks, until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurs.

NCT ID: NCT01383369 Completed - Clinical trials for Postoperative Cognitive Abilities

Postoperative Sleep Disturbances Role in Cognitive Test Results After Fast-track Hip and Knee Arthroplasty

Start date: February 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to evaluate sleep cycle before and after fast-track arthroplasty (3 days before and 10 days after) combined with cognitive testing preoperatively, on postoperative day 1,2,10.

NCT ID: NCT01380730 Completed - Hyperlipidemia Clinical Trials

LAPLACE-TIMI 57: Low-density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (LDL-C) Assessment With PCSK9 monoclonaL Antibody Inhibition Combined With Statin thErapy

LAPLACE
Start date: July 1, 2011
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate the effect of 12 weeks of subcutaneous (SC) evolocumab (AMG 145) administered every 2 weeks (Q2W) or every 4 weeks (Q4W), compared with placebo, on percent change from baseline in LDL-C when used in addition to a statin in adults with hypercholesterolemia.

NCT ID: NCT01380717 Completed - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Renal and Systemic Vascular Resistance in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

RenVas
Start date: February 2011
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Patients with reduced kidney function have a higher risk of heart disease and death. Studies have shown that blood vessels in patients with hypertension change with a decrease of lumen size and growth of the vessel wall. By treating patients with antihypertensive certain medication vessel lumen and walls normalize. Treating hypertension in patients with chronic kidney disease slows the progression of kidney function loss. The aim is to compare different degrees of antihypertensive medication in patients with chronic kidney disease and hypertension will slow the progression of kidney loss.

NCT ID: NCT01380444 Completed - Clinical trials for Femoral Neck Fractures

Intramedullary Nail Versus Sliding Hip Screw Inter-Trochanteric Evaluation

INSITE
Start date: December 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of Gamma3 intramedullary nails versus sliding hip screws on health-related quality of life as measured by the EuroQuol-5D at 52 weeks in individuals with trochanteric fractures. Secondary outcomes include revision surgery rates, fracture healing rates, fracture related adverse events, and health-related quality of life, including the Parker mobility score and Harris Hip Score.

NCT ID: NCT01379989 Completed - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

INOVATYON STUDY -International, Randomized Study in Patients With Ovarian Cancer

INOVATYON
Start date: June 2011
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this multicentric, randomised, Phase III study is to demonstrate superiority, in terms of survival, of trabectedin and Pegylated Liposomal Doxorubicin (PLD) versus carboplatin and PLD in partially-platinum sensitive ovarian cancer patients.

NCT ID: NCT01379638 Completed - Clinical trials for Bypass Complications

Best Cardiac Output During Cardiopulmonary Bypass

Start date: December 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the patients cardiac output measured before cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), is more sufficient to secure the patients oxygen needs than the estimated cardiac output from Ficks principle, and thereby prevent organ failure.

NCT ID: NCT01379612 Completed - Rectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Ultrasound Elastography in Patients With Rectal Cancer

Start date: May 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to recruit 50 rectal cancer patients planned to receive standard radiochemotherapy. A baseline ultrasonic elastography is performed prior to radiochemotherapy and followed by re-scans two and six weeks after initiation of treatment. The objective quantitative elastography findings are compared with the TRG score. The purpose is to elucidate ultrasonic elastography's ability to predict treatment response at an early stage by comparing quantitative ultrasound parameters before, during and after treatment with MR scan results and histopathological Tumor Regression Grade (TRG score) after operation.
