There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
A pilot study showed that serum calcium levels and calcium homeostasis change in response to hCG stimulation test. Serum calcium level differed when comparing pretreatment values at baseline with serum levels 72 hours after hCG stimulation in men with gonadal insufficiency referred for this stimulation test. Now we want to investigate whether this change in calcium is due to renal loss or other mechanisms and how the classical regulators of calcium homeostasis respond to hCG in men with impaired gonadal function compared with men having normal gonadal function. Moreover, the observed change in serum calcium implies that hCG also changes Phosphate, PTH and calcitonin and this will be clarified with this study
Primary Objective: -To evaluate the efficacy of fitusiran compared to on-demand treatment with factor concentrates, as determined by the frequency of bleeding episodes. Secondary Objectives: - To evaluate the efficacy of fitusiran compared to on-demand treatment with factor concentrates, as determined by: - The frequency of spontaneous bleeding episodes. - The frequency of joint bleeding episodes. - Health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in participants >=17 years of age. - To determine the frequency of bleeding episodes during the onset period. - To determine the safety and tolerability of fitusiran.
Prospective, single-arm, multi-center, interventional post-market study. After signing informed consent, eligible subjects will be implanted with the CE marked Evolut™ PRO system. The investigation purpose is to evaluate the acute and long term clinical performance and safety of Evolut™ PRO in a routine hospital setting in patients with symptomatic native aortic valve stenosis or a stenosed, insufficient, or combined surgical bioprosthetic valve failure necessitating valve replacement within the approved intended use in local geography.
This study in part of a larger cohort study (clinical trials ID number: NCT03375333) that examine the use of ultrasound in general practice. In the present study patient experiences, with use of ultrasound in the consultation at the general practitioners office, will be explored through a questionnaire.
Part A:once weekly dosing for 4 weeks in patients with short bowel syndrome who require total parenteral nutrition; patients will complete period 1 and after a 6-10 week wash-out, they will enter period 2 (active treatment and placebo); Part B: treatment period 3, is an open label extension to part A and starts after a washout of 6-10 weeks after the last dose in treatment period 2. patients are dosed once weekly for 4 weeks.
In this Phase I study, patients with hormone-sensitive Prostate Cancer (PC) and lymph node metastases are treated with the cancer vaccine Bcl-xl_42-CAF09b. The aim of the study is to clarify the safety and toxicity of the vaccine and also the immunological effect. The vaccine Bcl-xl_42-CAF09b is composed of the peptide Bcl-xl_42 and the adjuvant CAF09b. The B-cell lymphoma extra large protein (Bcl-xl) protein plays a vital role in the cancer cell's ability to avoid programmed cell death (apoptosis) and is upregulated in a variety of cancerous diseases. Bcl-xl_42 is a peptide fragment of the full protein and preclinical studies have shown that vaccination with this peptide (Bcl-xl) can activate the immune system and thereby lead to the death of cancer cells. In order to improve the activation of the immune system, adjuvant CAF09b is added; Preclinical studies have shown that special intraperitoneal (IP) injections of CAF09b improve the activation of the immune system.
The purpose of the trial is the analysis of safety and efficacy of the chymase inhibitor BAY1142524 at a dose of 25 mg BID in comparison to placebo using a 6 months treatment period in type II diabetic patients with a clinical diagnosis of diabetic kidney disease. BAY1142524 or placebo will be given on top of evidence-based standard of care for diabetic kidney disease. Primary objective is the analysis of first signs of efficacy as determined by favourable changes in urinary albumin creatinine ratio. Secondary objective is the analysis of safety and tolerability as evidenced by the incidence and severity of adverse events. 64 valid patients have to complete treatment with verum and 32 valid patients have to complete treatment with placebo.
PACE-Mobil-PBL is a prospective randomized controlled trial. The aim is to investigate the effect of a multimodal and exercise-based intervention among older patients with advanced pancreatic cancer, biliary tract cancer, or lung cancer during treatment with first-line palliative chemotherapy, immunotherapy or targeted therapy. The hypotheses: That the multimodal intervention will increase or maintain physical function levels and strength, reduce symptoms and side-effects, improve quality of life, reduce treatment-related complications and hospital admissions, and reduce risk of cancer cachexia and sarcopenia.
In this cohort study, we will investigate short and long term outcomes after knee replacement surgery and identify preoperative and early postoperative factors associated with long term outcome.
This study will examine the effect of exercise on the turnover of collagen in articular cartilage and the content of cytokines in the synovial fluid from human adults with osteoarthritis.
