There are about 25560 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Germany. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
In this study the effects of genetically modified potatoes on the human metabolism will be observed. Healthy volunteers receive for one week muffins, produced with starch from a genetically modified potato or with a normal available starch, in a randomized trial.
The study design consists of a prospective randomised controlled three-armed clinical trial, which will be carried out at a specialist clinic for integrative medicine, to investigate the clinical effects of hydrotherapy on osteoarthritis of the knee or hip joint, in comparison with conventional physiotherapy.
Perioperative airway resistance and lung function are evaluated perioperatively in patients, who undergo surgical procedures in different postures and with or without gas insufflation into the peritoneal cavity.
The primary aim of the Erlangen´s Glaucoma Contrast Sensitivity-Study (EGCS-Study) is the evaluation of the diagnostic and prognostic validity of a diagnostic procedure, measuring contrast sensitivity. No therapeutic studies are performed.
The purpose of this study is to improve the overall survival of Mantle-Cell-Lymphoma (MCL) by a new concept of treatment with primary curative intention consisting of six courses of immunochemotherapy followed by high-dose chemotherapy and autologous stem cell transplantation (SCT) and HLA-identical allogenic SCT after a dose-reduced conditioning regimen of total body irradiation (TBI) with 2 Gy and Fludarabine in younger patients with primary Mantle-Cell-Lymphoma
This is an open-label trial investigating the efficacy of temsirolimus in recurrent or refractory primary CNS lymphoma (PCNSL) after initial chemotherapy with a high-dose methotrexate containing regimen. 37 patients are planned to be treated with weekly infusions of 25mg Temsirolimus (first 3 patients) or 75mg Temsirolimus (all other patients) up to a maximum of 12 months. The trial is designed in two stages, if less than one of the first 12 patients responds to treatment, the trial is stopped. In addition to efficacy, safety and penetration of temsirolimus into the cerebrospinal fluid will be investigated.
This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of using ultrasound scissors in the preparation for Thoracoscopic Ventral Spondylodesis. Quantity of bleeding and the duration of operation in Thoracoscopic Ventral Spondylodesis are compared to the preparation with monopolar electrosurgery.
Prospective, within-subject controlled study on multiple subject groups to evaluate the meaning of CK18-fragments in the diagnosis, biological activity and prognosis of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). Groups consist of patients scheduled for allogenic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT) (Group A) and healthy voluntary blood donors (Group B).
This is an open-label, mono-center phase I/II study designed to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and dose-limiting toxicities (DLT) of RAD001 in combination with carboplatin in taxane- and anthracycline-pretreated patients with progressive metastatic breast cancer. Additionally, the study is designed to characterize the safety, the tolerability and efficacy of this study.
Main goal of this clinical investigation is to investigate different cytokines in wound fluids of euthyroid vs. hypothyroid patients. As a primary endpoint we want to evaluate if different cytokine levels in euthyroid vs. hypothyroid patients exist and to what extent these cytokines differ. Our targeted cytokines are: IL6, IL10, TNFa and MCP-1. From the literature these 4 factors seem to be the most reasonable to measure and to focus on. Additionally we focus on these 4 factors for financial reasons, technically there wouldn't be a problem to measure more, which is correlated with higher costs. Besides, more than 6 factors would mean larger amounts of sample fluids needed, which would cause technical problems. These factors don`t have to change in the same direction. Secondarily, we believe that differences in cytokine profiles of hypothyroidism vs. euthyroidism will correlate to differences in duration and clinical characteristics of the wound healing process.
