NCT ID: NCT02853955 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Mitral Regurgitation

MitraClip® After Surgical Mitral Valve Repair

MVRepair
Start date: May 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Percutaneous edge-to-edge repair of the mitral valve has been shown to be a safe and effective alternative treatment option for selected patients at high risk for cardiac surgery. Patients with recurrent mitral regurgitation after surgical mitral valve repair (sMVR) are per se at increased risk for another cardiac surgery. The purpose of this multicenter retrospective analysis of patients treated with a MitraClip® after sMVR, is to evaluate the effectiveness and durability of this minimally invasive treatment option in this subset of patients.

NCT ID: NCT02853461 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Total Hip Replacement

Biofilm Investigation on Bearing Components of Explanted Hip Joint Prosthesis

Start date: June 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

In this study the investigators sonicate the bearing components of the explanted hip prosthesis which allows highly sensitive detection of in vivo biofilms (qualitatively and quantitatively). The hip prosthesis bearing components are composed from different material. The purpose of this study is to analyse the resistance against biofilm adhesion of ceramic, metal and polyethylene prosthesis components through microbiologic analysis of sonicates.

NCT ID: NCT02852928 Recruiting - Child Clinical Trials

Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Generation of a common European database and biobank Continous assessment and implementation of guidelines and treatment protocols Establishment of a large observational cohort of chILD patients Determination the value of outcomes used in child Assess treatment variations used, deliver data from defined protocols and linked outcomes

NCT ID: NCT02852083 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

A Trial With Metronomic Low-dose Treosulfan, Pioglitazone and Clarithromycin Versus Standard Treatment in NSCLC

ModuLung
Start date: January 2016
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase II, multicentre, open-label, randomized, and controlled study, evaluating the efficacy and safety of combined modularized treatment of treosulfan, pioglitazone and clarithromycin in patients with with squamous and non- squamous cell lung cancer, respectively after platin failure.

NCT ID: NCT02844049 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

European Study of Quality of Life in Resistant OCD Patients Treated by STN DBS

EQOLOC
Start date: September 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is among the most disabling psychiatric disorders as more than 40% of patients are resistant to the standard pharmacological and psychotherapy approaches and about 10% show severe disability and require institutionalization. These resistant patients may benefit from new surgical therapeutic approaches such as Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) using high frequency stimulation of specific cerebral regions to modulate neural networks. Although promising, these results need nevertheless to be replicated and confirmed within a larger cohort of patients and considering a different main objective, instead of clinical improvement only. Indeed, despite a positive treatment response, adaptive functioning and quality of life may continue to be negatively impacted in OCD. Thus beyond symptom reduction, health-related quality of life (QoL) represents a more important objective of a treatment, as it includes both the individual's functional status and the individual's subjective perception of the impact of the illness on the patient's life. STN DBS induces significant clinical improvement, which may not be proportional to the QoL gain. Consequently, QoL appears to be a better outcome to target in the coming studies than clinical improvement alone. THe investigators thus propose a prospective study assessing the QoL changes of resistant OCD patients under STN DBS+BMT versus Best Medical Treatment (BMT) at 12 months, in order to assess the DBS induced gain in QoL in BMT-managed patients versus BMT alone.

NCT ID: NCT02840331 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Peritoneal Carcinomatosis

Pilot Study on Intra-abdominal Photodynamic Diagnosis in Peritoneal Carcinosis

Hypericin-PDT
Start date: July 31, 2017
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The study would examine by hypericin-supported Fluoreszenzlaparoskopy in terms of tumor size, number and location of the combination of photodynamic diagnosis (PDD) and therapy (PDT) with regard to the detection of peritoneal metastases of locally advanced gastric cancer at 50 adult patients.

NCT ID: NCT02838888 Recruiting - Colon Adenoma Clinical Trials

Computer-assisted Detection of Colonic Polyps

KoloPol I
Start date: July 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Screening colonoscopy is considered the gold standard for adenoma detection in the colon. However, it has been shown that a considerable number of polyps can be missed during screening colonoscopy. Until now the endoscopist himself is responsible for the detection of adenomatous polyps. No automatic tools are available supporting the colonoscopist to detect lesions. Recently, a computer program was developed that can be used to recognize and extract suspicious structure from colonoscopy video sequences. The program was built to automatically detected colonic polyps and to highlight the polyps by colour marking. The program was now refined so that the respective structures can be highlighted during real time colonoscopy. The aim of this feasibility study is to test whether the software is applicable during real time colonoscopy.

NCT ID: NCT02838862 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Neuroendocrine Tumors

Identification of Biomarker Profiles GEP-NEN Patients

Start date: July 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Although gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasia (GEP-NEN) were considered for years as rare tumors, their incidences are increasing. Due to their potential of early metastases and their heterogenous response to therapy, these tumors are important clinical entities. A major problem remains the impossibility to adequately predict tumors' response to treatment, precluding an individualized therapy. Further, there is no method to efficiently screen these tumors. Protein based analyses (proteomic analyses) gain in interest as methods to address this problematic. The present study was designed to investigate epidemiologic data of patients with GEP-NEN and to answer following questions using proteomic analysis applied to existing pathology specimens (paraffin-embedded specimens, FFPE): is it possible to explore protein signatures in this type of tumors? Is the response to therapy predictable using specific protein signatures? Is the tumor's tendency to metastasize related to specific protein signatures?
