NCT ID: NCT01724021 Completed - Clinical trials for Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma, Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

A Study of Participant Preference With Subcutaneous Versus Intravenous MabThera/Rituxan in Participants With CD20+ Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma or CD20+ Follicular Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Grades 1, 2 or 3a

Start date: December 2012
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This multi-center, open-label, randomized study will evaluate the participant preference with subcutaneous versus intravenous administration of MabThera/Rituxan (rituximab) in participants with CD20+ diffuse large B-cell lymphoma or CD20+ follicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. In Arm A, participants will receive MabThera/Rituxan 375 mg/m2 intravenously (IV) on Day 1 of Cycle 1 and MabThera/Rituxan 1400 mg subcutaneously (SC) on Day 1 of Cycles 2-4, followed by MabThera/Rituxan IV in Cycles 5-8. Participants in Arm B will receive MabThera/Rituxan IV in Cycles 1-4 and SC in Cycles 5-8. All participants will receive 6-8 cycles of standard chemotherapy (according to local country practice) with 8 cycles of MabThera/Rituxan. Anticipated time on study treatment is up to 24 weeks.

CheckMate 066
Start date: January 18, 2013
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the clinical benefit, as measured by overall survival, of nivolumab with that of. dacarbazine in patients with previously untreated, unresectable, or metastatic melanoma

NCT ID: NCT01718171 Completed - Appendicitis Clinical Trials

Inflammatory Response in Appendicitis

Start date: January 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Although the presence of SIRS has been described in patients with appendicitis, its progressive response related and together with progression of symptomatology from the onset of symptoms to diagnostic has not been characterized. Continuation of the systemic inflammation in patients with injury and infectious processes may result in multiple organ dysfunction and ultimately failure. As with any acute inflammatory condition, the patients' systemic inflammatory response to appendicitis will progress and become more intense with the passing of time. The purpose of this study is to characterize the systemic inflammatory response to appendicitis from the beginning of symptoms to diagnostic in patients with appendicitis submitted to emergency surgery.

NCT ID: NCT01715909 Completed - Influenza Clinical Trials

A Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic Study of Oseltamivir in Immunocompromised Children With Confirmed Influenza Infection

Start date: January 22, 2014
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This open-label, randomized, adaptive, 2-arm, multicenter study will evaluate the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of oseltamivir (Tamiflu) in immunocompromised children, less than (<) 13 years of age, with confirmed influenza infection. Participants will be randomized to receive either the standard dose or triple dose of oseltamivir orally daily for a minimum of 5 days and up to 20 days. Infants <1 year of age will be randomized to the standard dose arm only.

NCT ID: NCT01715818 Completed - Clinical trials for Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes Mellitus Type 2

A Study on The Potential of Aleglitazar to Reduce Cardiovascular Risk in Patients With Stable Cardiovascular Disease and Glucose Abnormalities

Start date: December 2012
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group, multicenter study will evaluate the potential of aleglitazar to reduce cardiovascular risk in patients with stable cardiovascular disease and glucose abnormalities. Patients will be randomized 1:1 to receive either aleglitazar 150 mcg orally daily or matching placebo.

NCT ID: NCT01715285 Completed - Prostate Neoplasms Clinical Trials

A Study of Abiraterone Acetate Plus Low-Dose Prednisone Plus Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) Versus ADT Alone in Newly Diagnosed Participants With High-Risk, Metastatic Hormone-Naive Prostate Cancer (mHNPC)

Start date: February 12, 2013
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine if newly diagnosed (within previous 3 months) participants with metastatic (spread of cancer cells from one part of the body to another ) hormone-naive prostate cancer (mHNPC) who have high-risk prognostic factors will benefit from the addition of abiraterone acetate plus low-dose prednisone to androgen deprivation therapy (ADT; lutenizing hormone releasing hormone [LHRH] agonists or surgical castration).

NCT ID: NCT01712074 Terminated - Alzheimer's Disease Clinical Trials

Study Evaluating TheSafety And Efficacy Of PF-05212377 Or Placebo In Subjects With Alzheimer's Disease With Existing Neuropsychiatric Symptoms On Donepezil

Start date: November 2012
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate safety and efficacy of PF-05212377 in subjects with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's Disease with existing neuropsychiatric symptoms on a stable dose of Donepezil. The 4-week run-in will minimize placebo effect. The 12-week treatment period is considered the minimum length necessary to reliably evaluate the effect PF-05212377 on cognition and and neuropsychiatric symptoms in this population. The 2-week washout will allow to monitor re-emergence of neuropsychiatric and cognitive symptoms.
