There are about 9403 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Switzerland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
34 adult (>18 years) cancer pain outpatients with Opioid base therapy because of pain and breakthrough pain or extreme pain on movement will be included in this prospective, randomized, double-blind crossover study. Over a period of 3 weeks patients will go through 3 treatment arms, each one lasting one week: Group A receives morphine drops and Placebo spray, Group B receives ketamine/chitosan spray nasal and Placebo drops and Group C receives morphine drops and ketamine/chitosan spray nasal. Primary endpoint is time to onset of action of intranasal ketamine compared with morphine drops. Secondary endpoint is the median numeric rating scale (NRS) improvement after using the spray or morphine or the combination of ketamine spray and morphine drops.
Pelvic ring fractures in the elderly are associated with high morbidity during standard conservative treatment due to immobility. Furthermore the risk of long term dependence even after the fracture has united is high. In analogy to the treatment of hip fractures in a similar patient population, patients might benefit from surgical treatment due to a reduction in pain and early mobilization.
The purpose of this study was to test whether two investigational drugs called CAD106 and CNP520, administered separately, could slow down the onset and progression of clinical symptoms associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD) in participants at the risk to develop clinical symptoms based on their age and genotype.
The study's primary objective [in a population of patients with MDS after failure of treatment with azacitidine (AZA) or decitabine (DAC)], is to compare the overall survival (OS) of patients in the rigosertib group vs the Physician's Choice group, in all patients and in a subgroup of patients with IPSS-R very high risk.
The study aimed to assess the success of a clinically indicated renal denervation by different tests and correlate the results of the tests with the clinical outcome.
To assess whether a rivaroxaban-based anticoagulation strategy, following successful TAVR, compared to an antiplatelet-based strategy, is superior in reducing death or first thromboembolic events (DTE). To assess the primary bleeding events (PBE) of the rivaroxaban-based strategy compared to an antiplatelet-based strategy, following TAVR.
This clinical investigation evaluates the safety of cryoablation (sclerotherapy of muscle tissue of the heart by freezing) in paroxysmal atrial fibrillation with the newly developed CoolLoop® cryoablation catheter. A further aim of the investigation is the evaluation of the efficacy and average duration of the applied procedure.
The primary objectives of this study are to evaluate the effect of Obeticholic Acid treatment compared to placebo on 1) histological improvement and 2) liver-related clinical outcomes in patients with non-cirrhotic nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) with liver fibrosis.
Proximal interphalangeal joint injuries of the fingers may be treated in various ways and no treatment has been shown to be superior. The investigators wish to study the effectiveness of syndactyly versus digital splint when comparing joint mobility. The investigators also wish to study the effectiveness of finger compression in reducing edema and therefore allowing a greater arc of motion.
This is a multicenter, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study designed to compare overall survival in participants with relapsed or refractory AML treated with idasanutlin in combination with cytarabine versus participants treated with placebo and cytarabine. Participants will receive induction treatment with idasanutlin/placebo and cytarabine (Cycle 1). Responding participants may continue to receive a maximum of further two cycles of consolidation (Cycle 2 and Cycle 3). Complete remission (CR), CR with incomplete platelet count recovery (CRp), overall remission rate (ORR), event-free survival (EFS) and percentage of participants with an allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) will also be compared between treatment arms. This study will include participants with and without TP53 wild type (TP53 WT) mutations.
