NCT ID: NCT04326101 Completed - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

Electronic Transmission of Laboratory and Adherence Records of Heart Failure Patients to General Practitioners Screen

LabAdhDoc
Start date: August 15, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Patients with heart failure (HF) need multiple guideline-directed medications to control the systolic and/or diastolic ventricular dysfunction. Laboratory measure the biomarker NT-proBNP (N-terminal pro-B type natriuretic peptide) to support clinical decision and to guide treatment at every stage of HF. Many patients (including HF patients) do not follow therapeutic recommendations. Electronic monitoring of medication intake gives precise information over time and is the gold standard to unveil inappropriate behaviour. Electronic Health Records (EHR) are repository of patient health data in digital format and are mostly locally configured in medical practices. We aim to transmit laboratory results of NT-proBNP and estimates of medication adherence into the EHR system of primary care providers, with the objective to guide treatment and dose adjustment of multiple medications in patients with HF. Our project is *not* to develop a telemonitoring system.

NCT ID: NCT04324515 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass

Randomized Trial Comparing Gastric Bypass With and Without Cholecystectomy

Start date: July 18, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The main objective of this pilot study is to show feasibility to collect peri-operative and postoperative clinical data of the study group of gastric bypass without cholecystectomy compared with the control group of gastric bypass with cholecystectomy. Our hypothesis is that the approach without cholecystectomy would be superior in terms of a decrease of perioperative adverse events and postoperative complications, as well as lenght of operation, lenght of hospital stay, overall costs with a very low risk of biliary complication in the follow up. These findings could be helpful to build a baseline for a future randomized controlled multicenter study allowing significance of these results and help orientate surgeons towards best surgical care of the gallbladder with confirmed absence of stones in the obese patient undergoing gastric bypass.

NCT ID: NCT04324099 Recruiting - Conduct Disorder Clinical Trials

Investigating the Specificity of Neural Correlates for Emotion Processing Deficits in Conduct Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorders

Start date: July 16, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study is 1. to investigate the differential and shared neural underpinnings of facial emotion processing within Conduct disorder (CD) and Autism-Spectrum disorder (ASD) and 2. to investigate the interaction between deficits in emotion processing and dysfunctional cognitive control processes. Differences in emotion processing and the underlying neural underpinnings of such differences will be assessed by means of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) without any contrast agent, combined with adapted emotion processing paradigms and eye tracking techniques.

NCT ID: NCT04323930 Enrolling by invitation - Primary Glaucoma Clinical Trials

eyeWatch vs. Trabeculectomy RCT (evT)

evT
Start date: June 30, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The confirm the performance and safety of the eyeWatch System as first-line filtering surgery and compare its outcomes to trabeculectomy

NCT ID: NCT04323761 Approved for marketing - SARS-CoV2 Infection Clinical Trials

Expanded Access Treatment Protocol: Remdesivir (RDV; GS-5734) for the Treatment of SARS-CoV2 (CoV) Infection (COVID-19)

Start date: n/a
Phase:
Study type: Expanded Access

The primary objective of this study is to provide expanded access of remdesivir (RDV) for the treatment of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV2) infection.

NCT ID: NCT04323553 Enrolling by invitation - Clinical trials for Analysis Transmission Rate

Comparison of Pulsed-field Gel Electrophoresis and Whole Genome Sequencing to Determine Transmission Rate of ESBL-producing E.Coli

PFGE-WGS
Start date: March 6, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this quality control study is to compare two different techniques to determine ESBL-producing E.coli transmission.

NCT ID: NCT04323293 Recruiting - Low Back Pain Clinical Trials

Pain Modulation - Experimental Assessments Using Different Modalities

Start date: May 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this study is to investigate how different painful stimuli are processed and modulated in the nervous system. In various pain conditions, including low back pain, often no specific source can be identified as the cause of the pain. Scientific findings point towards a possible involvement of sensitization processes in the central nervous system (spinal cord and brain) that can contribute to the development and persistence of chronic pain. There is a need for reliable and well established experimental methods to better investigate and understand these processes. Frequently used methods comprise the application of thermal, mechanical or electrical stimulations. These modalities are processed in different parts of the nervous system, each allowing its own conclusions. This can be an advantage, but it also poses a challenge regarding comparability and generalizability of obtained results. This study aims to apply and compare various experimental methods in people without and people with low back pain and shed light on the methodological differences. In the future, this could enable better identification and characterization of sensitization processes in the nervous system and build the basis for individually adapted, mechanism-targeted treatments with better patient outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT04323046 Recruiting - Glioblastoma Clinical Trials

Immunotherapy Before and After Surgery for Treatment of Recurrent or Progressive High Grade Glioma in Children and Young Adults

Start date: October 2, 2020
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This phase I trial studies the side effects of nivolumab before and after surgery in treating children and young adults with high grade glioma that has come back (recurrent) or is increasing in scope or severity (progressive). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.

NCT ID: NCT04321785 Completed - Caffeine Clinical Trials

Effects of Caffeine on Sleep-wake Regulation in Teenagers

Start date: April 13, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim is to quantify the effects of one dose of caffeine (compared to placebo) on sleep and wakefulness in adolescents.
