NCT ID: NCT04506827 Completed - Clinical trials for Alveolar Bone Atrophy

RCT With 3 Different Biomaterials for Maxillary Sinus Lift

Start date: February 23, 2017
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Background: Lateral maxillary sinus augmentation (MSA) is a predictable bone regeneration technique in case of atrophy of the posterior-upper maxilla. Aimed at obtaining quantity and quality of bone suitable for receiving osseointegrated implants, its success is largely due to the skill of the surgeon, but also to the characteristics of the biomaterial used. Methods: Twenty-four patients needing MSA were included in the study. The patients were randomly allocated to 3 different groups: Anorganic Bovine Bone Mineral (ABBM) as control, Tricalcium Phosphate (TCP) with or without hyaluronic acid (HA) as test groups. Nine months after MSA bone biopsies were harvested for the histomorphometric analysis. Secondary outcomes were mean bone gain, intraoperative and post-operative complications, implant insertion torque, implant failure and patient related outcome measures (PROMs).

NCT ID: NCT04505124 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

The Effect of an mHealth Intervention on Physical Activity and Nutrition: the FutureMe Trial

Start date: November 17, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is a randomized controlled trial (RCT) which investigates the effect of a Future-Self Avatar intervention (FutureMe App) on physical activity (PA) and nutrition. The Health Action Process Approach (HAPA) and principles from consumer behavior theory were used to guide the development of the intervention. The study investigates the impact of avatar-based interventions on PA and food purchasing behavior and aims to understand if avatars can help increase the stand-alone effectiveness of mHealth interventions.

NCT ID: NCT04504825 Active, not recruiting - AL Amyloidosis Clinical Trials

A Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of CAEL-101 in Patients With Mayo Stage IIIb AL Amyloidosis

Start date: February 2, 2021
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

AL (or light chain) amyloidosis begins in the bone marrow where abnormal proteins misfold and create free light chains that cannot be broken down. These free light chains bind together to form amyloid fibrils that build up in the extracellular space of organs, affecting the kidneys, heart, liver, spleen, nervous system and digestive tract. The primary purpose of this study is to determine whether CAEL-101, a monoclonal antibody that removes AL amyloid deposits from tissues and organs, improves overall survival and it is safe and well tolerated in patients with stage IIIb AL amyloidosis.

NCT ID: NCT04504799 Completed - Body Composition Clinical Trials

Validation of the New HAG-B19 Scale for Measuring Lean and Fat Body Masse

HAG-BIA
Start date: September 3, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Body composition measurement is an important tool for assessing the physical condition of sick or healthy people, as well as for monitoring changes in body composition and physical performance during diet and/or training. Many people self-monitor their body composition using portable and inexpensive assessment tools, but most of them have not been tested for accuracy and precision. This study aims to assess the accuracy and precision of a new portable impedancemeter scale to measure body composition in comparison with proven techniques, such as 4-electrode electrical bioimpedance analysis and dual X-ray absorptiometry.

NCT ID: NCT04504591 Terminated - Brugada Syndrome 1S Clinical Trials

Validation Of A New S-ICD Algorithm To Reduce Oversensing Of Dynamic T-Waves In Patients With Brugada Syndrome

DE-08-16
Start date: December 14, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The main objective of this study will be to assess the efficacy of S-ICD with SMART Pass to discriminate dynamic T-waves amplitudes and morphologies over time. Pilot, multi-centric, prospective, blinded, one arm (repeated measures), non-interventional study. Objective is to setup a 8-center data collection registry between Switzerland, Italy and Belgium.

NCT ID: NCT04503642 Completed - Morality Clinical Trials

Changing the Surgical Team for Wound Closure and Surgical Site Infection

Start date: March 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Surgical site infection is a frequent complication after abdominal surgery. The wound closure is done at the end of the procedure when the attention of the entire team may be affected because of tiredness and reduced attention of the surgical team. With this study, the investigators aim to test if an exchange of the surgical team by a specialised wound closure team may reduce the impact of surgical site infection.

NCT ID: NCT04503395 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Aortic Aneurysm, Abdominal

ShOrt neCK AAA RAndomized Trial - ESAR and FEVAR: SOCRATES

SOCRATES
Start date: May 21, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this randomized study is to compare the safety and performance of EndoVascular Aneurysm Repair with ESAR using Endurant + Heli-FX™ EndoAnchor™ system and FEVAR using customizable grafts from Cook (Zenith Fenestrated Graft) and Terumo (Fenestrated Anaconda Graft) for the treatment of aortic aneurysms with short aortic neck (4 to 15mm).

NCT ID: NCT04503252 Completed - Clinical trials for Staphylococcus Aureus Infection

Probability of Target Attainment With Standard Intermittent Bolus Administration of Cefazolin in Patients With Complicated Infections Caused by Staphylococcus Aureus

TARGET II
Start date: January 14, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Given the paucity of pharmacological data on cefazolin treatment of Methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) complicated S. aureus infection (CSAI), the primary purpose of this study is to investigate the probability of pharmacological target attainment (in the blood and infected tissue) with standard intermittent bolus administration of cefazolin in patients with CSAI caused by MSSA by determining plasma concentrations of cefazolin and exact Minimum inhibitory concentration (MICs) of the causative MSSA strains in patients with various disease severities (e.g. critically ill vs. noncritically ill patients). - Sub-study quantitative measurement of Torque Teno virus (TTV): The primary purpose of this sub-study is to describe the viral kinetics of TTV in CSAI patients and to explore the association of TTV viremia with clinical outcomes and molecular markers of activation of the immune system. - Sub-study investigating antibiotic concentrations in sweat as a non-invasive therapeutic drug monitoring
