There are about 28871 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Canada. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
C3731003 is a pivotal Phase 3 study to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of a single IV infusion of PF-07055480 / giroctocogene fitelparvovec (Recombinant AAV2/6 Human Factor VIII Gene Therapy) in adult male participants with moderately severe or severe hemophilia A (FVIII:C≤1%) for the study duration of 5 years. The study will enroll eligible participants who have been followed on routine prophylaxis with FVIII products in the Lead-In study C0371004.
This seamless, adaptive, two-stage, Phase 2b/3, randomized, double-blind, multicenter, parallel-groups, placebo-controlled study will assess the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of belapectin compared with placebo in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) cirrhosis and clinical signs of portal hypertension but without esophageal varices at baseline.
This will be a retrospective observational cohort study utilizing the data from the British Columbia Perinatal Data Registry (BCPDR). The BCPDR is a provincially inclusive database that aggregates obstetrics and neonatal variables from all attended births in British Columbia. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate and contrast the average time interval from the first to second birth for patients with recurrent pregnancy loss compared to healthy controls. Secondarily, the investigators will calculate the cumulative live birth rate in the cohort of women with recurrent pregnancy loss who were </= 35 at age of first birth and delivered between the years 2000-2010. Finally, the investigators will compare the incidence of adverse perinatal outcomes for those with recurrent pregnancy loss and those without. The results of this study will be valuable for clinicians and patients as it will provide information for prognosis counselling. This will also help those desiring more than one child with long term family planning.
This is a clinical trial of a cash transfer on symptoms consistent with COVID-19 and adherence to physical distancing guidance.
Open-label study to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment with ofatumumab in subjects transitioning from any fumarate-based RMS approved therapy or fingolimod due to breakthrough disease.
This study is being conducted to study the use and application of a point-of-care (POC) Covid-19 test developed by Spartan BioSciences and recently approved for clinical use by Health Canada. Phase I of this study will determine the best route for the swabs (nasal, throat, or both), and to determine if this POC test results are comparable to the standard core-lab test results.
This is a natural history study prospectively investigating neuroimaging markers of disease progression in children and adults with Friedreich ataxia (FA). There will be three assessment periods (baseline, 12 and 24 months). The study will include approximately 200 individuals with FA and 100 matched controls recruited across the six international academic sites. Other assessments will include secondary clinical and cognitive markers, as well as exploratory blood markers.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate BMS-986315 alone and in combination with nivolumab or cetuximab in participants with advanced solid tumors.
Around 40% of the world's population is now impacted by allergic disease and this figure continues to rise. It is now understood that allergic disease arises from complex interactions between genetic and environmental factors. Exposure to allergens such as dust mites and pollen, as well as air pollutants such as diesel exhaust particulates, can alter the ability of critical genes to be expressed appropriately, a process known as epigenetic modification. The epigenetic modifications induced by allergens and pollutants appears to be reversible, thus providing a mechanism by which allergic disease can be treated. Budesonide (Rhinocort®) is a corticosteroid nasal spray commonly used to treat allergy symptoms. While the anti- inflammatory and other pharmacological aspects of budesonide are well understood, recent studies have suggested that budesonide may also work by reversing the epigenetic modifications caused by allergen exposure, although this has not been examined in the context of real-world exposures in humans. This study aims to harness the power of epigenetic analysis to determine whether the epigenetic landscape in patients suffering from allergic disease can be modified by the administration of budesonide. It will fill critical gaps in understanding of epigenetic effects and provide information to examine the connection between environmental impacts and treatment effects. The research will expand the mechanistic understanding of the therapeutic effects of budesonide for relief of nasal rhinitis symptoms and may reveal new mechanisms that could improve treatment of allergies or pollution exposure, or serve as a tool for evaluating future therapies. If this venture is successful, it will serve as a model for studying and optimizing the epigenetic effects of other treatments and other diseases.
The BURAN study is a randomized, open-label phase III study to assess the treatment effect of once-daily buparlisib in combination with weekly paclitaxel compared to weekly paclitaxel alone in patients with refractory, recurrent, or metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) that have progressed after prior anti PD 1/anti PD L1 monotherapy; prior anti PD 1/anti PD L1 therapy in combination with platinum-based therapy; or after sequential treatment of anti PD 1/anti PD L1 therapy, either prior to or post, platinum-based therapy.
